While the rest of his friends and girlfriend decided to be featured extras, Oliver decided not to. He wasn't sure how the cameras and being around a bunch of people he didn't know would make him feel. Plus he had been dealing with a lot of anxiety lately. His medication was helping, but the last thing he needed was another panic attack. In the same day he already had a panic attack earlier at school, he didn't want to add more stress to his life. So he decided not to be a featured extra and just focus on the upcoming auditions he had for the play at the school. He was hoping he could get Troy Bolton's part, the main lead, but Ricky had been Troy before when they done the first movie so it was a possibility he could get that part again. But Oliver wasn't sure. The last thing he wanted was to have his hopes up just to be let down.

He was in the library during his free period when he noticed Miss Jenn lingering by the door, looking around as if she was looking for something or someone. He raised his eyebrows, glancing around with confusion before he got up and went over to her, stepping out to the hallway. "Miss Jenn, why are you lurking?"

"Lurking?" Miss Jenn echoes, feigning innocence. "I'm not lurking, I'm just...Observing. I was looking for you. Since the movie took the auditorium, we will be having auditions in the bomb shelter." She pauses when she realized something. "Wait, you're not being a featured extra like the others? Why?"

"Oh, um, I wasn't really feeling it." Oliver replies, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'm just trying to focus on the auditions and stuff. I think my anxiety is getting worse and I'm just stressed out. I feel like being a featured extra would just make things worse."

Miss Jenn frowns, a sympathetic expression crossing her face. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, Oliver. If you ever need to talk, my door is always open. But I understand, and you have nothing to worry about. You'll do great, just like you always do." She gives him a reassuring smile, reaching over and squeezing his shoulder. "Now, don't forget that rehearsal is in half an hour, so be there on time."

"Got it." Oliver nods, giving her a small smile in return. "And thanks, Miss Jenn. That means a lot." He watched as she walked off, leaving him alone in the hallway. He lets out a sigh, leaning against the wall. He was glad she understood, and that she wasn't disappointed in him. It meant a lot to have her support. He just hoped the auditions would go well and that he could impress her enough to get the part.

He walked back into the library to sit back down. Oliver's thoughts swirled as he sat in the library, preparing himself mentally for the auditions. The weight of his anxiety still hung heavy on his shoulders, but he was determined not to let it hold him back. He knew he had to push through, for himself and for the sake of his passion for acting. As the clock ticked closer to the start of rehearsal, Oliver gathered his resolve and prepared himself for the audition.

****

Soon enough the audition came and went by in a blur. Oliver had been a nervous wreck, but he somehow managed to pull it off. He did his best to channel Troy's spirit, pouring his heart and soul into the performance. When it was over, he was left feeling drained and exhausted, but also oddly exhilarated. There was something about performing that filled him with a sense of energy and joy, even if it was exhausting. Part of him was nervous, unsure if he had done well enough to impress Miss Jenn. But another part of him was excited, eager to see what the future held. Whatever the outcome, Oliver knew that he had done his best and given his all, and that was all that mattered.

After school was done, Oliver was at his locker, packing his bag when Gina suddenly came up behind him and hugged him tightly.

"Hey, beautiful." Oliver greets her, closing his locker. He turns around and wrapped his arms around her waist, leaning down and kissing her cheek. "How are you?"

"Great now that I'm with you." She says, grinning as she leans up and kisses him on the lips. "How are you? Audition went great, huh?"

"You think so?" Oliver asks, a little uncertain. "I feel like I did alright, but I don't know. What if I didn't do good enough?"

"Oliver, you're overthinking this. You did great, baby." Gina reassures him, her hands resting on his shoulders. "I know you did. You've always been amazing at this stuff."

Oliver smiles a little at her praise, his arms wrapping around her waist. "You're biased."

"So what if I am?" She teases, winking at him. "It's the truth. Besides, we can worry about that later. For now, let's just enjoy our time together, okay?"

"Okay." He agrees, unable to resist her charm. "What do you have in mind?" He asked curiously.

"Hmm..." Gina hums, a playful glint in her eyes. "Well, I was thinking we could go back to your place and watch a movie. Just you and me, cuddling and enjoying each other's company. What do you think?"

"I think that sounds perfect." Oliver replies with a fond smile. He needed that after the stressful day he had. Spending time with Gina was always a source of comfort and happiness for him, and he was grateful to have her by his side. "Let's go."

As they walked out of the school together, Oliver felt a sense of relief wash over him. Whatever the outcome of the auditions, he knew that he had Gina's love and support, and that was all he needed to feel confident in himself. With her by his side, he felt like he could conquer anything that came his way. He opened the passenger door to his car for her and waited until she was safely inside, but before he could close it, she suddenly reached up and grabbed him by the front of his shirt and yanked him down and kissed him on the lips. He let out a small gasp of surprise, his eyes widening for a second, but then he relaxed and kissed her back, a smile playing on his lips. They stayed like that for a moment, lost in the sensation of their lips moving together. Finally, they broke apart, breathing heavily.

"What was that for?" Oliver asked, his cheeks flushed.

Gina grins, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Just because." She shrugs innocently, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "And because I love you, of course."

"Well, I love you, too." He tells her, smiling affectionately at her. "So much."

"Good." Gina giggles, leaning up and pecking him on the lips. "Now come on, let's get out of here. We have a movie date to enjoy."

He couldn't help but grin as he closed the door and went around to the driver's side, feeling like the luckiest guy in the world. Whatever happened with the auditions, he knew that he had Gina's unconditional love and support, and that was all he needed to be happy.

****

After the movie, the couple lay together in Oliver's bed, holding each other close. Oliver held Gina in his arms, her head resting on his chest. While he loves her holding him, he loves holding her too. They lay in comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other's presence. It had been a stressful day for Oliver, and Gina knew that he needed to decompress and relax. She snuggled up closer to him, her fingers tracing idle patterns on his skin on his arm. He sighed contentedly, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head.

"Thank you for being here, Gina." Oliver whispers, his voice filled with gratitude. "Today was...A lot. But being with you makes it all better."

Gina smiles, tilting her head up to look at him. "Of course, baby. That's what I'm here for." She reaches up and cups his cheek, gently stroking his skin. "I'll always be here for you, Oli. I love you."

Oliver leans down and presses his forehead against hers, his eyes shining with affection. "I love you, too, Gina." He whispers, his voice soft and tender. "So much."

She leaned up and kissed him on the lips, her heart fluttering in her chest. He smiled into the kiss, his hand resting on the back of her neck to pull her closer. They kissed slowly and sweetly, savoring the moment. After a few minutes, they broke apart, both of them breathing heavily. Oliver smiled down at Gina, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. In that moment, surrounded by her love and affection, all his worries and anxieties melted away. He knew that no matter what challenges or obstacles lay ahead, as long as he had Gina by his side, he could overcome anything. With a contented sigh, he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight.

"So how was rehearsals for the movie?" Oliver asked curiously.

"It was great. The choreographer asked me to step in for Dani since she was late. But I got to practice with Mack. He's honestly a really good dancer. I was impressed." Gina explained to him.

Oliver's stomach drops. "That's great, babe." He manages, but it sounded forced even to him. "I'm glad you had a good time."

Gina notices the change in his tone and sat up. She reaches over and cups his cheek. "What's wrong?" She asked, her eyes full of concern.

"Nothing." He said, avoiding her gaze. "It's stupid."

"No, it's not." Gina argues, her tone firm. "If it's bothering you, it's not stupid. Please, talk to me."

"It's just...I don't know." Oliver sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. "I guess I'm just worried that you'll get too close to Mack, and then you'll realize you made a mistake dating me and want him instead."

"Ollie, look at me." Gina tells him, and he hesitantly meets her gaze. Her expression is full of understanding and compassion. "I would never choose Mack over you. You're the one I love, and nothing will ever change that. Plus Mack is dating Dani."

"Yeah, but you're dancing with him, and that's like a dream come true for you." He tries to explain his thoughts. "I mean, you have a crush on him."

"Yes, but I love you, and nothing will change that." She repeats her words firmly. "You are the only one I want to be with, Oliver. No one else compares."

Her words and reassurance eased his anxiety and worries. He felt foolish for doubting her, but she understood and was patient with him. "I'm sorry." He apologizes, feeling guilty. "It's just now that you're gonna be a featured extra in the movie and practiced dancing with Mack, it's hard not to have those worries."

"Don't apologize, Oliver. I understand." Gina says, her expression gentle. "But I promise you have nothing to worry about. I'm not going anywhere. I love you and only you."

"I love you, too." He replies, his voice thick with emotion. "And thank you. For being patient with me and reassuring me. I know I can be difficult at times."

Gina laughs, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Baby, you're not difficult. You're just going through a lot. I understand, and I'm here for you. Whatever you need, I'll be by your side. I'm not going anywhere."

He wraps his arms around her and pulls her into a tight hug. He buried his face in her hair, breathing in her familiar, comforting scent. "Thank you, Gina." He whispers, his voice muffled. "I love you so much."

"I love you, too." She murmurs, her hands rubbing his back. "More than you could ever know."

They stayed like that for a few moments, basking in the warmth and comfort of each other's embrace. It was moments like this that reminded Oliver how lucky he was to have Gina in his life. She was the most caring and supportive girlfriend anyone could ask for, and he knew that no matter what happened, he could always count on her. As Oliver and Gina held each other close, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting a warm light across the room, Oliver couldn't help but feel a sense of peace wash over him. With Gina by his side, he felt like he could face anything that life threw his way.

"I'm sorry for doubting you, Gina." Oliver murmurs, his voice tinged with regret. "I know I shouldn't let my insecurities get the best of me."

Gina tilts her head up to look at him, her eyes filled with compassion. "You don't need to apologize, Ollie. I understand how hard it can be to battle those thoughts. But remember, you're not alone in this. I'm here for you, always."

Oliver nods, his heart swelling with gratitude for her understanding. "Thank you, Gina. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Gina smiles fondly, her fingers gently tracing circles on his chest. "You'll never have to find out. I'll always be here, through thick and thin." She leaned up to press a tender kiss to his lips, a silent promise of her unwavering love and support.

Oliver returns the kiss, feeling a sense of peace settle over him. In that moment, surrounded by Gina's love and warmth, all his worries and fears faded away. He knew that as long as he had her by his side, he could conquer anything. With a contented sigh, he pulled her close, holding her tight as they drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's arms.

In the quiet stillness of the night, Oliver found solace in the love of the girl who meant everything to him. And as he drifted off to sleep, he knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, as long as he had Gina by his side, he would always find the strength to face them head-on. Suddenly, Gina's phone went off and she let out a groan of annoyance along with Oliver.

"Ignore it." He mumbled, holding her tighter.

"I can't. It's probably important." Gina replied with an apologetic look. She sat up to lean over and grabbed her phone off the nightstand. Oliver grumbled in response, but loosens his grip on her. As she looked at the message, her expression turns from annoyed to concerned.

"Everything okay?" He asked, sitting up as well and peering over her shoulder curiously.

"Emergency meeting at my house." Gina replies, confusion laced in her tone as she glanced over at him. "Why would everyone be at my house?"

He shrugs in response, also confused. "I don't know, but whatever it is, I'm sure we'll find out soon."

"Yeah, I'm sure." Gina agrees, her brow furrowed. "Hopefully, it's nothing serious. We better get going, though. Come on."

Oliver groans dramatically in response, laying his head on her shoulder and hugging her close. "Orrrr...We could stay here and cuddle."

Gina rolls her eyes playfully and lightly pushes him away, getting out of the bed. "Come on, lazy. We have a meeting to get to. We can cuddle more after."

Oliver sighs and reluctantly gets out of the bed, pulling her into a quick hug before letting her go. "Alright, let's get this over with. Then we can get back to cuddling." He put his shoes on reluctantly, a pout still on his face.

Gina shakes her head fondly at him and put her boots on. She then stood in between his legs, leaning down to give him a quick kiss on the lips. "Better?" She asked, laying her hands on his shoulders.

"Maybe." Oliver replies, grinning at her. "A few more would help."

She giggles and pecks him on the lips a few more times before pulling away, a smirk on her lips. "Let's go, lover boy. We have a meeting to get to."

His face grew warm at the new pet name and he couldn't help the dopey grin that formed on his face. He wasn't sure how she had such an effect on him. She made him feel happier and more confident than he ever felt, and he was grateful for that. They walk downstairs and head towards the front door, their hands linked together. Just as Oliver was about to open the door, his sister caught up to them.

"Can I ride with you guys there?" She asked hopefully as she grabbed her jacket off the coat rack by the door.

"Yeah, of course." Gina responds after sharing a look with Oliver. "Come on, let's get going."

Oliver opened the door for them and held it open as Gina and Dahlia walked out. He then followed behind them and closed the door. They all got into his car and drove off, making their way to Gina's house.

****

Once they arrived, the trio went up to Gina's room to see the rest of the drama club already there. "Oh, look who decided to arrive." Carlos teased.

"I'm sorry, welcome to my bedroom. How did you guys even get in?" Gina questioned with a small chuckle as she walked in with Oliver and Dahlia.

"The garage code is your mom's birthday. You can find it on her Linkedin page." Emmy revealed.

Oliver's raises his eyebrows at that, sharing a look with Gina as Dahlia stares at Emmy with surprise. "Really? That's kinda creepy, Ems." Dahlia commented.

"Oh, come on. It's not that bad, Lia." She brushed off with a wave of her hand. Dahlia chuckled and rolled her eyes at her friend. She and Emmy had been close friends for awhile now, and she had gotten used to her random and sometimes strange ways.

"Everyone, sit." Carlos orders and everyone immediately went to sit down in Gina's room. "Everyone, breathe." He adds. Gina sat down on the arm chair of the couch Oliver sat on by his sister, Emmy, and Ashlyn. He shares a smile with Gina, wrapping his arm around her waist as she leans into him, taking comfort in his presence. Dahlia sat cross-legged on the couch by her brother, looking at Carlos as she eagerly waited to find out what was in the folder he held. "Today was big. Most of us rehearsed for a Hollywood movie!" His announcement was followed excited cheers from the group. "But in my humble opinion, the following is even bigger."

"Am I too late?" Ricky's panicked voice filled the room as he rushed in. Oliver was relieved to see him, he had been concerned about where he was since he wasn't there yet. Though it was normal for Ricky to be late to practice and meetings.

Carlos smiles at Ricky. "For Ricky Bowen, you're right on time." Ricky looks relieved and he went to sit down. Carlos pulls out the cast list from the folder, causing Dahlia to perk up more when she saw it. "Sharpay will be played by Kourtney Greene." Kourtney stood, excitedly squealing and she bowed dramatically as everyone cheered for her. "Ryan will be played by moi." He grinned, earning a big smile from Kourtney.

"Dream team!" She cheered, pointing at the boy excitedly.

"Kelsi will be played by Ashlyn Moon Caswell." Ashlyn looks surprised but pleased at that, giving Carlos a wide grin. "Taylor will be played by the famous, controversial Hollywood exile known only as Emmy." Carlos continued. Emmy stood up excitedly, grinning as she did the finger hand wave with Gina and then high fived Dahlia, who shared a grin with her. She then sat down on the ottoman as Carlos kept listing out the rest of the cast.

"Here we go. Troy will be played by..." Carlos dramatically pauses as he looks down at the list. Oliver holds his breath, waiting to hear if he got the part or not. He was fidgeting with his bracelet, a nervous habit of his, while Gina gave him an encouraging smile and laid her hand over his to calm him. He smiles gratefully at her, but the anticipation was eating him alive. "The one and only Oliver Dalwood!"

Oliver's eyes widen and he stared at Carlos with shock. Did he just say his name? He didn't know if he had heard correctly, but the loud cheering of his friends confirmed that he did.

"I got the part?!" He asked, needing to confirm what he was hearing.

"Yes! Yes! You did, baby!" Gina cheers, throwing her arms around him and hugging him tightly. "I knew you could do it!"

Oliver grins widely and hugs her back, his heart racing with excitement. He couldn't believe he got the part, it seemed almost too good to be true. "I got the part." He whispers to himself, the words finally sinking in. He could hardly contain his joy as the reality of his accomplishment set in. "I got the part!" He repeated, louder this time, his voice filled with a mix of disbelief and exhilaration.

His friends cheered and applauded, congratulating him and telling him how proud they were of him. Even Ricky seemed genuinely happy for him. But he couldn't focus on any of them, because Gina's bright, dazzling smile was the only thing he could see. Her eyes shone with pride and happiness, and he knew she was happier about his achievement than he was.

"I'm so proud of you, Ollie." She whispers, leaning forward to kiss his forehead. "You deserve this."

"Thank you." He replied, his voice thick with emotion. The support and encouragement from his friends meant a lot to him, but Gina's praise and affection meant even more. He couldn't imagine how he would have handled his audition if she wasn't there to support and encourage him. He was so lucky to have her in his life, and he knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, he could face them knowing she would be by his side.

"And now the moment we've all been waiting for, the role of Gabriella." Carlos dramatically paused once more.

Gina perks up, looking at him hopefully as she stands. "Oh my gosh, is it me?"

"Let me have my moment." Carlos said, giving her a playful glare. After another dramatic pause, he reveals, "It's you!"

Gina lets out an excited cheer, followed by her boyfriend and friends. Oliver grins, watching her with pride and love as she curtsied dramatically before she sat back down on the arm chair beside him. Oliver wraps his arm around her and kisses her cheek, smiling at her. "Congratulations, baby. I'm so happy for you." He whispers to her. "You deserve this."

Gina smiles fondly at him and gives him a sweet, lingering kiss. "Thank you, baby. I'm so excited. This is gonna be so much fun."

"Yeah, it will be." Oliver agreed, his heart swelling with joy. He was proud of her and happy for her, but also, he was excited to get to work on the play together as leading roles.

Carlos got everyone's attention again and continues reading off the cast list. Kennedi was Martha, Ricky was Jason, Carlos admitted he thought Miss Jenn would be great for Miss Darbus, and Dahlia was a background dancer which she was fine with. This was her first play she ever been in so she was just happy to be included.

But Oliver was surprised they didn't have enough people to fill in the whole cast. And so was everyone else. "Wait, what about Chad?" Gina questioned, furrowing her eyebrows.

"Right," Emmy stands immediately, chuckling nervously. "My boyfriend?"

"Your character's boyfriend." Dahlia corrected her and looked at her with amusement.

"Chad is not cast yet." Carlos confessed.

"How do we not have enough people to fill out an HSM3 cast?" Gina asked, her voice laced with disbelief.

"It appears the movie sucked up all other potential drama kids." Carlos replies with a shrug of his shoulders. "They're getting a hundred bucks a week, plus all the kettle corn they can get. We can't compete with that."

"Yeah, true," Dahlia agrees. "That's a great deal."

"You guys, Dani just posted something really cryptic on Instagram." Kourtney admits, sitting down and everyone stands by her to see the post. "It reads, 'Hollywood is brutal. Stay grounded out there, babes.'" She gasps. "Mack commented. S*** is messed up.' Ooh, what kind of tea they got going on there?"

Oliver sat back down by Gina, who sat on the steps to the higher platform where her bed was at. "We got Troy and Gabriella." He grins, wrapping an arm around her waist. "Still pretty sure I'm dreaming."

Oliver and Gina basked in the excitement of their newly won roles, the energy in the room electric with their friends' shared joy. Oliver could hardly believe his luck. His heart swelled with happiness, not just for himself but for Gina as well. It felt like a dream come true, and having Gina by his side made it even more special.

"I know, right?" Gina responds, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "We're going to rock this, Oli. This is gonna be perfect, nothing's gonna get in our way." She smiles lovingly at him and leans up to kiss him. But just before she could, she pauses when her phone rang. She smiles apologetically at him when he groaned dramatically and leaned his head on her shoulder with a pout. She looks down at her phone to check the caller ID, growing confused when she saw the number. "Wait, guys, what's 310? Like, what area code is that?"

Oliver furrows his eyebrows, also confused. "310..." A look of realization forms on Carlos' face. "That's Hollywood, baby." He eagerly moved over to sit by the couple along with the rest of their friends.

"Even if you're fired from the movie, you can still look forward to being Gabriella." Oliver tried to reassure her, his hand on her waist giving her a gentle squeeze. Gina leaned into his side, feeling his comforting touch as she answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Gina Porter." Quinn, the director of the HSM 4 movie is on the other line. "Hi, it's Quinn, the director. Sundance runner-up for 'Where Has All The Money Gone?'"

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I just, like, I know I messed up earlier today, but I promise it won't happen again." Gina responded reassuringly.

"Listen, that is the exact thing that I need. I spoke to your drama teacher today and she said that you have the range, talent and ambition to really make a mark. And not just in the background." Quinn told Gina, causing her boyfriend and friends to grin at her. She started to get excited too, but she didn't want to get her hopes up.

"What are you saying?" Gina questioned.

"What I'm saying is, how would you like to replace Dani in 'High School Musical 4'?"

Everyone gasps, looking at Gina excitedly. Oliver couldn't believe it. He didn't know what to feel, he just suddenly got a rush of emotions and adrenaline. His girlfriend was offered a part in the High School Musical franchise. Being in a movie was a big opportunity and one no one should pass up. Gina covered her mouth out of shock, her eyes wide as she tried to process what she was hearing. She couldn't believe it, this had to be a dream.

-ˏˋ Oliver was standing outside of Gina's house, an unreadable expression on his face as he fidgeted with his bracelet. His heart was racing and his palms were sweating. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. "Okay, so I'm obviously thrilled and happy for her, and I know this is an amazing opportunity for her. But I can't help but feel a little nervous, you know? I mean, Hollywood can be a tough place, and I don't want Gina to get caught up in all the craziness. What if this changes things between us? What if she becomes too busy for our relationship, or what if she meets someone else in Hollywood? I know it's irrational, but these thoughts keep running through my mind. Sure, she's incredibly talented and deserves every bit of success that comes her way. But I can't shake this feeling of uncertainty, you know? I just hope she knows how much I support her and that she won't forget about me - us." He quickly corrects himself. He lets out a heavy sigh, shaking his head and trying to push the negative thoughts away. "Anyway, I'm probably just overthinking things like normal. I'm sure everything will be fine, we'll make it work. We always do. Besides, I'm just so proud of her, and I can't wait to see her succeed. I love her and I know that no matter what happens, we'll find a way to make it work."ˎˊ-
