It's the day of the read-throughs. Most read-throughs were pretty basic. You would sit together and just read the script with each other. As Oliver walked into the bomb shelter where they would be having practice he noticed that desks were set up in a circle in the middle of the room. After having a conversation with Big Red and Ricky Miss Jenn announced for everyone to take their seats.

Oliver found his seat between Ashlyn and Seb. Oliver sent Ashlyn a friendly smile when they made eye contact and she sent one back to him. Oliver scans the circle that was formed in the bomb shelter, his eyes landing on Gina. She looks at him when she realized he was staring and a light shade of blush appeared on his face since he was embarrassed she caught him staring.

She just smiles at him and he shyly smiles back at her before averting her eyes and ducking his head, hoping he doesn't embarrass himself anymore. He often embarrassed himself, but ever since Gina arrived he has been embarrassing himself around her. It might possibly be because he likes her. Only a friend though!

Oliver glances over where Miss Jenn is at beside Big Red and Ricky when he hears her speak. "Ginger boy, can you read?"

"Uh...Not really." Big Red responded.

Miss Jenn smiles. "Well, you're reading now. Just the stage directions. Thank you. Excuse me." Miss Jenn then walks over to her seat and Carlos goes to his seat as well. "Silence your phones!"

Miss Jenn looks at everyone with a smile once everyone was sat down. "I realize you all walked in here as strangers."

Ashlyn points at EJ. "Actually, EJ's my cousin."

Miss Jenn then started explaining how everyone in the room will become like a family. Oliver thought the tension in the room right as she said that was so thick it couldn't even be cut by a knife. Miss Jenn asked everyone to hold hands for this speech and Oliver watched with raised eyebrows as EJ and Ricky hesitated to hold hands. He noticed that Ricky looked happy to be holding Nini's hand, but Nini looked uncomfortable.

"Feel each other's energy." Miss Jenn continues. "Let the silence speak volumes. In a world full of no, this is a space full of yes."

Oliver stifled a laugh, thinking it was ridiculous. Carlos, however, was pleased by what Miss Jenn just said. He furrowed his eyebrows whenever Miss Jenn suddenly starts singing 'We're All In This Together'. When the song ended Ashlyn claps and then realized no one else did. Big Red looks at Oliver and mouths to him, "Did we just join a cult?"

A small laugh leaves Oliver's lips and he mouths back to him, "Basically."

After doing some warm up exercises they started reading the script. Big Red is one of Oliver's best friends, but if he wasn't going to start read any faster Oliver was gonna punch him. Big Red read the stage directions so slow and it was obvious everyone was annoyed with it. Miss Jenn interrupted him, telling him to not run it all together and just read the punctuations. That didn't work because Big Red actually read the punctuations along with the stage directions.

"And that's act one." Miss Jenn announces, interrupting Big Red again. "Let's take a break."

Everyone either stayed in their seats or separated throughout the room and talked with their friends. "Hi." Oliver glances to his right, seeing that Ashlyn was the one who said that. "I'm Ashlyn. I don't think we ever officially met."

Oliver shakes his head, looking at her with a small smile. "I don't think so either. But it's nice to officially meet you, Ashlyn. I'm Oliver."

The blonde haired boy beside Oliver named Seb, points at the glasses Ashlyn is wearing. "Cool glasses."

Ashlyn smiles a bit. "Thanks. They're my grandmas."

Seb smiles. "I have the same one at home."

"Really?" Ashlyn asks him. "Why?"

"So I can see when I'm milking." Seb replied.

Oliver furrows his eyebrows, sharing a confused look with Ashlyn. He found himself having a conversation with Ashlyn and Seb throughout the break they have. Soon enough Miss Jenn said it was time continue reading the script.

The next day he found himself at the skate park after school. He doesn't know anything about skateboarding. He tried skateboarding one time and once he got on the skateboard he immediately fell off. His younger sister, Dahlia, is much more skilled with skateboarding. She wanted to go since one of her friends was going to be there. He had to drive her there since she's not old enough to drive yet and their parents are at work.

"There's Maisie." Dahlia noticed her best friend standing off to the side with her skateboard. The said girl waved at Dahlia and Dahlia waved back at her with a smile on her face.

"Okay, go have fun. Remember, only a hour. We both have homework to do." Oliver said as she started heading down the stairs to where the skateboard ramps are set up. "Got it." Dahlia nodded. Before she was out of earshot, he quickly adds, "And be careful!"

Dahlia nods, waving at him before she got to the bottom of the stairs. "I will!"

Oliver leans against the railing of the stairs, watching as his little sister and her best friend began skateboarding. He had to admit they were really good. Well, in his opinion, anyone who can stay on a skateboard for more than one second is better than him. As he glanced around the room, he noticed Gina sitting on the stairs towards the bottom of the stairs. He tilts his head to the side, seeing that she was talking to Ricky.

He shakes his head, tearing his eyes away from the two and sits down on the stairs. He takes his headphones off from being around his neck and put them on. He connects his headphones to his phone through Bluetooth, glad that he brought his headphones with him so he could listen to music while his sister skateboards. He pulled up his Spotify High School Musical playlist on his phone and was just about to press play but stopped when he heard his name.

"Oliver?"

He looks up, looking in the direction he should his name being spoken. A smile tug on his lips at seeing it was Gina who said it. She stood in front of him, looking at him with a small smile, and she even had headphones of her own around her neck.

"Hi, Gina." Oliver greeted, putting his headphones back around his neck. She smiled and gestures with a nod of her head to the spot next to him, silently asking if she could sit beside him. When Oliver nodded, Gina sat down beside him.

"So, what are you doing here?" Gina asks him, taking a glance around the place. "This doesn't seem like your kind of scenery."

"You are correct." Oliver nods, chuckling a bit. "I'm just here 'cause of my younger sister."

Gina looks back at him, tilting her head to the side with a small smile on her face. "You have a younger sister?"

Oliver nods, pointing at his sister who just did a kick flip with her skateboard. "That's Dahlia."

A surprised expression forms on Gina's face when she saw the trick Dahlia did. "Wow." She smiles at Oliver. "Your sister is pretty good."

Oliver chuckles and nods. "Much better than I am at skateboarding."

Gina shakes her head. "I'm sure you're not that bad."

"Trust me, I am. First time I ever put my foot on a skateboard I fell." Oliver told her. When she laughs a bit his heart skipped a beat and he thought it was his favorite sound ever. He could listen to it all day. He shakes his head when he realized he was staring at her. "Yeah, you're laughing, but skateboarding is hard. Espeically when you're someone like me who is clumsy and isn't that coordinated."

Gina chuckles lightly, shaking her head. While she looks down, she noticed a High School Musical playlist was shown on his phone and a smile tugs on her lips. "You have great taste in music."

Oliver raises his eyebrows and then glances at his phone in realization. "Oh," A smile tugs on his lips as he looks back at her. "Thanks."

"So, um, what are you doing here?" Oliver questioned, tilting his head to the side.

Gina purses her lips together. "Babysitting my neighbor's kid." She glances out at the skate ramps, shrugging his shoulders. "He's somewhere."

Oliver found himself talking with Gina for the rest of the time he was at the skate park. Throughout the hour of them being there they got to know each other more and just talk about really anything they wanted to. It felt like they've known each other for years when in reality they've only known each other for a few weeks.

After hanging out with Gina at the skate park Oliver found out that Ricky had quit. It honestly didn't really surprise him since Ricky wasn't a fan of musicals and isn't the type of person to be in a musical. But the next day Oliver saw he was showing the dance move he does at the curtain call to Carlos when he was in the library. He assumed that Ricky practiced the dance move because it looked a lot better than it did in practice the other day.

The drama club members were gathered in the bomb shelter, watching Miss Jenn take out something out of a package. Oliver had no idea what it could be, but Miss Jenn looked really excited. Miss Jenn then takes out a old cellphone, one that Oliver recognizes Gabriella has in the first movie of the High School Musical movies.

"Here it is, people." Miss Jenn said, holding the cellphone carefully.

Seb furrows his eyebrows. "Is that a garage door opener?"

Miss Jenn looks at him, shaking her head. "No, Seb. This is Gabriella's phone. From the film." Gasps and excited murmurs fill the room after she spoke. "I plan on creating a time-capsule display in our lobby." Miss Jenn continues. "If they can have 40 sports-ball trophies, we deserve a little movie museum."

Oliver smiles a bit, his smile falling when he notices Gina by Nini's backpack. His eyes grew wide as she takes Nini's phone out of the backpack, putting it in EJ's backpack.

-ˏˋ "Okay, why did that happen?" Oliver questions, standing in one of the hallways of the school. "Am I the only one who notice that and thinks it's weird and wrong? Why did she do that? Does EJ even know that she did that?" A look of realization forms on his face when he realizes he's rambling. He sighs heavily, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. "...And I'm rambling. I'm gonna stop now before I go on and on...And on."ˎˊ-

"Okay, people, enough dazzle." Miss Jenn smiles. "Fetch your scripts, please."
