From hearing those words come out of Harry's mouth, Eleanor knew she should be buzzing with anticipation and excitement to finally finding out the truth but at the moment she didn't care about those things, she just wanted to make Harry okay when he was clearly not okay.

"Harry you don't have-"

But she was interjected again. "Yes I do El, I owe it to you."

Eleanor nodded as they walked past the park and down the alley leading to Magnolia Crescent. "Okay, well just tell me when to stop or if you don't want to talk about anything."

Eleanor expected Harry to look grateful at these words but he just looked numb and it made Eleanor want to cry. What had happened to him? But Eleanor already suspected something. She thought it could be the tournament. After all, Harry was so freaked out about it and after the second task he went quiet, so maybe something had happened during the third task? Eleanor couldn't be sure but she knew she wasn't going to ask about it, just to be on the safe side. She really didn't want to pressure or hurt Harry in any more of a way.

Eleanor could still get the truth today but she also had to wait until Harry was ready to indulge it all to her even though the selfish part of her brain wanted to know every detail. Even the parts that had made him change. That's what was burning her with curiosity the most, finding out what exactly had happened to make him change as drastically as he had.

"Okay," Harry offered a small smile. "Thanks El."

Eleanor didn't know if she would ever get use to it. She knew it was just a stupid nickname but it sent tingles through her body every time Harry said it.

"No worries."

"So," Harry clapped his hands together and rolled his shoulders, trying to loosen the tension in them. It was clear to Eleanor that Harry was trying, pretending to be more cheerful to brighten the mood. "What do you want to know first?"

Eleanor knew that faking emotions just made the situation worse and she definitely didn't want Harry to fake around her but she did want to try and cheer Harry up, so she let it slide and played along. Besides something in Harry's pocket had caught her eye the moment she saw him.

Harry was watching her and he soon noticed her eyes light up and gleam with mischief and her lips curl into a smirk. She really was beautiful, Harry couldn't deny it (or help noticing). She was stunning.

"What do I want to know first?" Eleanor said in a teasing tone. "I can start anywhere?"

Seeing the mischief gleam ever more presently on Eleanor's face, Harry grew a bit more hesitant but albeit said; "Anywhere you want."

"Well in that case-" Suddenly Eleanor jumped in front of Harry and quicker than he could comprehend, she had reached into his front pocket and snatched his wand from it.

Eleanor looked at it curiously, humour evident on her face. "What is this? Are the Dursleys afraid of wood or something. Or is it a lucky emblem or something of the sort?"

"Wow, diving head first in. Okay then." Harry mumbled so Eleanor wouldn't hear. He knew he was going to have to confide in her that he was a wizard, he was even excited too so they had no more secrets but he hadn't expected it to come so early into their conversation.

He scratched the back of his head, suddenly feeling vulnerable and lost for words. "Er, not exactly."

Eleanor was studying him. "What do you mean not exac- Woah, look at the carvings on it, thats awesome! Did you do that yourself?"

"No, I brought it like that." Harry said, waiting for Eleanor's confusion.

"Brought it? From where? And why?"

Harry wanted his wand back, he felt empty without it. "From a shop in a place called Diagon Alley in London. It's the place I get all my school supplies for the year. The shop it's from is called Ollivanders and it's the best place to purchase wands."

Harry waited with a bated breath as Eleanor processed this information. She was studying the wand, twirling it around in her hands. Many things didn't make sense from what Harry had said. She had travelled up to London many times and a place called Diagon Alley just didn't exist. And did he say wand?

"Wand, as in a magical wand?" Eleanor asked slowly and watched as Harry nodded.

Eleanor laughed. "You're telling me this-" She held up the piece of wood. "Is a magical wand? That you can do actual magic spells with?"

Harry looked apprehensive now. "Yes it is." Harry's eyes were searching hers, they were begging. "Look Eleanor, I'm not lying I swear! This is why I couldn't tell you what school I go too because it was a magic school called Hogwarts that wizards and witches like myself attend to learn magic and how to control it."

Eleanor was dumbfounded. She just stared at Harry, her mouth slightly agape. Her mind was reeling. She didn't know what to think or what to believe. Slowly, she outstretched her hand and handed the piece of wood, or wand, back to Harry, who took it and pocketed it.

Eleanor saw he looked worried. Worried that she didn't believe him. "So this was your big secret? That you're actually a wizard?"

"Yes," Harry said and took a step closer to Eleanor, pleading. "I did try to warn you that it would be unbelievable and you wouldn't believe a word I said."

Eleanor was silent. She didn't know what to believe. Was he telling the truth? Was he lying again? Eleanor didn't know and she didn't know what to do. Harry was clearly going through a difficult time and obviously believed himself to be a real wizard.

Eleanor took a step away from Harry and watched him cautiously. He was clearly off his rocker and needed serious help but she also really desperately wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because he clearly wasn't okay.

Thinking quickly, Eleanor said; "Prove it."

"What?"

"Prove it," Eleanor repeated. "If you're really a wizard then a simple magic trick can't hurt."

Harry looked downtrodden. It made Eleanor feel bad. "I can't, I'm not allowed to use magic outside of school. I'm underage."

"How convenient." Eleanor said. She was hurt that Harry would play her like this.

"El, please-"

"And when are you allowed to do magic outside of school?"

"When I'm seventeen." Harry said. "Look I know it's hard to believe and I really wish I could show you but if I did, I would have the Ministry on my back and I'd probably get expelled from school."

Eleanor had turned around and was walking back down the alley that lead to Privet Drive. She was going in the wrong direction to her house she knew but honestly, she wasn't sure if it was the best idea to lead Harry to the place she lived.

Night was falling now. The streets were quiet and the streetlamps glowed eerily. It was especially dark in the tunnel like alley because all the lights were broken.

"There's a Ministry for Magic?" Eleanor couldn't help but ask.

But Eleanor's question didn't get answered. A cold had suddenly swept over the two of them, freezing them to the bone. Eleanor wrapped her arms around herself to try and preserve her warmth.

She didn't know what was going on. The UK was currently having it's biggest heatwave it had had in years. Only seconds ago, the air was dry and humid and the trees waved in a non-existent breeze. For it to suddenly get this cold was impossible.

But it wasn't just cold. A sense of foreboding hopelessness was settling over Eleanor. Her breath hitched at the sudden feeling.

It was like she was suddenly doused in ice cold water, freezing her inside out. The cold spread to every possible place in her body, leaving her feeling empty, hopeless; like she would never be happy again.

Eleanor went to take a step closer to Harry but he wasn't there. Eleanor turned around to see Harry had stopped halfway in the tunnel and was staring at something behing him, his wand out.

He turned to look at Eleanor, a look of confusion and terror in his eyes. "Run!"

(Ooh, it's getting interesting now. Can you guess what Harry had saw?)
