The pastel green silk green sheets and reading the novel of an old fart grandpa was definitely cramping his style. Despite being the prince of Meldrop Kingdom, he did not enjoy being confied in a room with richness. One would dream having tons of gold and silver in their treasury or have the exquisite dishes being served by chefs everyday but this did not amuse him. He wanted to explore, seek more knowledge through experience. But he could not, since, his own mother had locked him in his room for giving her a cupcake which was filled with many chillies inside .

" You are now banished to your room for one week", his mom stated.

He loved pulling pranks on people, some went fine, while others resulted him being locked up in his room.

A brilliant idea came.

" Miss Clara!"

No response.

" Miss Clara!"

No response.

" MISS CLARA!!!"

"What do you want, you little piece of shit?!!"

" May I get the-"

" No!"

" But I didn't-"

" NO!!"

He sighs and drops onto the bed, like a rock. He looks at the window and a mischievous twinkle rises in his eyes, he grins.

Suddenly, Miss Clara, the head maid's head pops up, outside the window. She opens the window.

" AND DON'T EVEN THINK OF GOING THROUGH THE WINDOW, YOU DIMWIT!!"

She gives him the middle finger. Puts on a mad face, and proceds slams the window shut.

" How did you even-"

" SHUT THE FUCK UP!!"

He knew opening his mouth would result in getting himself pacified, so, he stayed put. But there was one thing, Miss Clara was not aware of.

He goes near the door and peeps though the keyhole.

The hole was wide enough for him to see the other side. He could see, Miss Clara's honey coloured locks facing him and the armrest of a wooden chair. He assumed she was sitting a few yards away from the door on a wooden chair, knitting or muttering nonsense.

He knew his job was hard but he knew, it was worth it. He hesitantly looks at his hands and snaps them, creating a small flame, it was a tiny flame of orange  tinge dancing on his pointer finger, fighting to be alive against the wisps of air from him, as he exhaled.

Fire was amazing, but dangerous at the same time.

He knew Miss Clara would handle it.

He minimizes the flame to a level where he can slide it out the keyhole. He pushes it out and it lands onto the floor without a single sound. He curls his pointer finger and stretches it, repeating his action a couple of times, a motion to move it forward.

The fire would not spread unless he commanded it to.

He reaches the destination and snaps his finger, again. The flame turns a bit bigger, big enough to catch Miss Clara's attention. She screams in fright and rushes to find water.

She comes and puts out the fire and unlockes the door.

" Your majesty, it seems that the witch is striking again. You can leave and find a place to hide"

He might have used his 'spell' a couple of times.

He grins, as he says.

" Sure, Clara!"

" It is MISS Clara to you, you bitch!"

" Mhm.."

And off he goes to the stable. The only thing he loved about the entrie castle was that it had many hidden passages. These were made by his ancestors, to save themselves at the times of distress. He walks into the hallway, the walls were filled with pictures of his ancestors. But one stood out the from the rest. It was a painting of his great-great-great-great grandmother. In the painting she was sitting on a cushioned chair, reading a simple book. Her black locks were braided and her rose colored cheeks looked odd on her. Everything looked wonderful, yet, her eyes were different. They were looking at someone towards the right, looking shocked and disturbed. It looked like, she wanted to run away and hide.

Then again, this is just a painting, nothing more.

Adien Kensington Harrington or just Adien presses onto the eyes of his great-great-great-great grandmother's eyes and they are pushed back from the force given. Just like a button. It was creepy, but this was the only way from him to access the hidden passage.

He hears a click and the whole wall moves a few centimeters back and slides left. And he sees a passage, made up by many bricks and is lit up by many torches.

Immediately he steps in and the wall slides left and moves front, moving into it's original position. He walks forward.

He knew no one would be down here, nobody knew about this.

Except him.

Then again, he is really busy in his royal duties. He does not have time for these foolish attics.

"Kneel."

He kneels.

" Now, use your hands to milk her.'

He does as intructed.

" You are doing really well your majesty. She never allows anyone to take her milk except me. "

" Why, thank you, Collin. I am quite grateful for your guidance."

" Oh, don't mention it, your majesty."

Milking a cow or doing any other task fit for mere peasants was discouraged in the royal family. But that did not stop Adien to milk a cow, and to learn the ways of peasants. He wanted to understand their problems and live a normal life for once. So, every once in a while he would sneak into the shed and try helping out.

Many servents politely turned him down, scared of getting behead in the public by the king or queen. Yet, after a lot of pestering they gave in.

Adien was nothing like other princes, he loved to help anyone in need. He did normal chores that the servents did, to understand their problems and work on them. While, other princes would scrunch their nose in disgust from the foul smell of cow dug in the shed, Adien did not mind it.

He was pretty open minded. He welcomed flaws and differences of a person with open arms. He was like the rainbow after a downpour, which was appealing to the eyes and hearts but would go within a few moments. As he tended to leave the room after a couple of minutes, due his royal duties. All the sevents admired him from afar, due to his qualities.

Some even had infatuation on him, yet, they did not know one thing.

He was already in a infatuation with someone else.

 His heart was already taken.

Alas, he knew his infatuation was one-sided.

****

' Is he really worth it?'

Thought Adien, as he lays on the hay full of grass.

He knew his love was unwanted.

Useless.

He was in love with him own best friend.

Who is guy, like him.

He knew liking or even loving  the same gender from afar was a sin.

He would probably got to hell, after he dies.

' Why him?'

It could have been a young maiden, with beautiful eyes and gorgeous locks.

Yet, it had to be his own best friend.

It was pointless.

His one-sided infatuation started at the age of ten. It was a lovely day, with the sun blazing on top of their heads, wispy clouds scattered on the blue canvas that we humans called the sky. The rays hitting them, like soft feathers, almost like a hug, warm and comforting. The moist green grass was a bit wet from last night's rain. The air was a bit humid and the petrichor was calming.  There were trees at the sides of the horse field, standing tall and proud, preventing the sun to bury its feet onto the ground.

This was a sight to see, navy blue eyes with a ring of dark blue surrounding them, a button nose, rosy cheeks, olive skin, and the most soft and silkly black hair was a true piece of art. Felix was cute, with his cheeks prodding out of his body and chubby hands. He was like a doll. Adien sometimes wondered if Feix was real.

" Felix?"

" Yes, bitch?"

And, yes, they are ten.

" Are you real?"

He swipes his head at Adien, who was sitting on top of a phony.

" Yes. I guess, I mean, if I wasn't you would not see me.", he shrugs.

" ...You are beautiful...almost like an angel."

"...."

" Thank you"

" Can I call you angel?"

" ...sure."

" An angle."

"......STOP IT!!"

He snaps back to earth and sees a blushing Felix, his eyes looking at him annoyed, his cheeks red. A colour he loved seeing the most, now. His tiny hands clenched into fists and he breathes harshly.

" Oh yeah? You are an angel!"

"STOP IT!! Or else!"

" Or else what?"

And Felix launches himself onto Adien and knocks him onto the ground. He pins him onto the ground, he fist clenching his collar and other near his head to maintain his balance. His legs are on either side of his hips. They are close, their lips are almost touching, Felix looks at Adien, annoyed, still blushing and panting.  Adien's eyes widens and he blushes red. He smirks.

" Dare say another word and you will be punished all night long.~ "

Suddenly, Felix is pinned down by Adien.

" WHY YOU-"

And they both try pinning the other, resulting in a seris of laughs and tears.

Both of their hearts lightend up.

A new feeling emerged into their innocent hearts.

Something so right, yet, so wrong

It bloomed more and more over the past few years.

Their love towards each other grew so much.

That it was unbearable.

But neither were bold enough to say the words. And this resulted in them distancing themselves towards from eachother.

' So close, yet so far

Are our hearts ever gonna be apart?

Are these feelings useless?

 I am pretty excuseless.

Is this really worth it?

I blame this on cupid.'
