"Well. That was disturbing."
"Nothing good comes from anarchy. That's been proven again and again."
"Well, Major, I'll have her ready by the fall. Then we can bring the other boy up, and all our candidates will be in orbit."

For the rest of the months of summer, Wolf spent her time at Graff's earth-house. Graf spent his time traveling between the battle school, and his earth-house.

He told Wolf she was going to the battle school, and that's why she had the silver disk in her neck. He said it was called a "monitor" and soon it would come off. Soon.

Wolf was actually a bit annoyed with herself. Normally she tried to notice everything, and she had to admit she's forgotten about the disk. It hadn't seemed to have mattered.

She spent the time Graff had with her learning all the things she would have learned if she were a normal four year old. She had a great grasp on things such as reading, math, and science. He brought piloting sims that normal children might play, and she beat them easily.

The time he spent away she studied and read. She wanted to know everything, everything about, well, everything. She knew the buggers were coming, and that's why they needed her. So she planned to be the best of best.
