the girl who knew too much

ALEX RAN OUT of Stiles' Jeep as she made her way to Lydia and Allison, Stiles following, and Scott getting off his motorcycle to join the group.

"It's the same thing." Lydia started. "Same thing as the pool. I got in the car heading somewhere totally different and ended up here. And you told me to call you if there's a dead body."

"Wh- you found a dead body?!" Stiles exclaimed.

"Not yet." Lydia answered.

"Not yet? What do you mean 'not yet', Lydia you're supposed to call us after you find a dead body." Stiles frowned.

"No, I'm not doing that again." Lydia replied. "You find the dead body from now on."

"How are we supposed to find the dead body? You're always the one finding the dead body!" Stiles exclaimed.

"Guys." Scott announced, stopping the argument before it escalated. "I found the dead body."

Alex frowned as she and the rest of the group glanced in the direction Scott was glancing in. There, laid the dead body of Tara, a police officer, slumped on the Beacon Hills high school sign.

"Idioms, analogies, metaphors, and similes." Jennifer started, walking around the classroom. "All tools the writer uses to tell their story." She stopped at Lydia's desk, only to find the strawberry blonde sketching some kind of tree.

"Lydia, I wasn't aware you had so many hidden talents." Jennifer added, glancing at the tree drawing.

"You and every guy I've ever dated." Lydia responded, sending the teacher a small smirk.

"Oh, um, well, that was an idiom, by the way." Jennifer breathed a chuckle and moved on. "Idioms are something of a secret to the people who know the language or the culture."

She stopped again, this time, glancing between Alex, Stiles, and Scott. "They're phrases that only make sense if you know key words. Saying 'jump the gun' is meaningful only if you know about the starting gun in a race."

She continued. "Or a phrase like 'seeing the whole board'."

"Like chess." Stiles spoke quietly.

"That's right, Stiles." Jennifer responded. "Do you play?"

"Uh, no." Stiles shook his head. "My father does."

Jennifer sent Stiles a small smile before moving on once again. "Now, when does an idiom become a cliché?"

"I think I can get to Ethan." Scott whispered to Alex and Stiles. "I'm pretty sure I can make him talk."

"Why do you wanna do that for?" Stiles frowned.

"The Druids are emissary's, right?" Scott started, Alex nodding. "So what if the Darach was an emissary to the alphas?"

"Okay, first of all, I cannot believe we've gotten to the point where sentences like 'what if the Darach was an emissary to the alphas' actually makes sense to me." Stiles replied quietly. "Second of all, we're gonna have a huge problem getting to Ethan."

"What's that?" Scott frowned.

"Going through Aiden." Alex clarified. "Ever since he's been back at school, they're always together. How are we gonna seperate them again?"

The three shared knowing glances, turning to face Lydia.

"What now?" Lydia sighed.

••••

"Why are you even talking to me?" Ethan frowned. "I helped kill your friend."

"Great memory." Alex sarcastically responded and crossed her arms. "Thanks for letting us relive that experience, Ethan."

"How do you know I'm not gonna kill another one?" Ethan added, ignoring Alex and glancing at Stiles.

"Is he looking at me?" Stiles narrowed his eyes, beginning to walk up to Ethan. "Are you threatening me? You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna break off an extra large branch of mountain ash, wrap it in wolfsbane, roll it in mistletoe and shove it up your freakin'-"

"Woah, Stiles, we get it." Alex cut him off, her arm over his chest so he couldn't reach Ethan. Stiles walked back to the wall he was previously leaning on, and leaned on it again.

"We're talking to you because I know you didn't want to kill Boyd." Scott changed the subject. "And I think if something like that happened now, you wouldn't do it again."

"You don't know what we owe them." Ethan spoke. "Especially Deucalion. We weren't like Kali and Ennis when we met him. We weren't alphas."

"What were you?" Alex frowned.

"Omegas." Ethan responded, glancing at Alex. "In actual wolf packs, omegas are the scapegoat. The last to eat, the one who has to take the abuse from the rest of the pack."

"So you and your brother were like the bitches of the pack?" Stiles clarified.

"Something like that." Ethan spoke.

"What happened?" Scott raised his eyebrows, changing the subject.

"They were killers. People talk about us as monsters. They're the ones giving us the reputation. And our alpha was the worst of them." Ethan explained.

"Why didn't you guys just fight back?" Stiles asked. "Form Voltron Wolf, you know? Kick everyone's asses?"

"We couldn't. We didn't know how to control it back then." Ethan replied.

"Deucalion taught you..." Alex spoke.

"We fought. We took down our pack one by one. And by the time we got to our alpha, he was begging for his life." Ethan explained. "And we tore him apart. Literally." Ethan's voice trembled slightly.

"What about your emissary?" Scott questioned. "They're all dead? Kali and Ennis' too?"

"All except for Deucalion's." Ethan answered.

"You mean Morrell?" Stiles frowned.

Before Ethan could answer, he groaned in pain, clutching his chest.

"What? Are you hurt?" Scott asked with a frown.

"Not me." Ethan gasped. "My brother."

••••

Scott, Alex, and Ethan held Aiden back from killing Cora, Stiles going over to Cora to see if she was okay. Lydia was next to them as well.

"Aiden! You can't do this!" Ethan yelled once Aiden was a little calmer.

"She came at me!" Aiden growled, still in his werewolf form, Scott, Alex, and Ethan still holding him back.

"Doesn't matter! Kali gave Derek until the next full moon. You can't touch him or her." Ethan replied, Aiden turning back into his human form.

Lydia glanced at Aiden as Ethan guided him away.

"Hey, guys, I think she's pretty hurt..." Stiles spoke, Alex frowning and walking up to him.

••••

"You okay?" Scott asked as Cora wiped some blood away from her forehead.

"She doesn't look okay." Lydia sighed.

"I'll heal." Cora responded. She stepped back but almost fell, Stiles and Scott getting ready to catch her.

"I said I'm fine." Cora spoke, pulling away from the boys.

"Do you realise how suicidally crazy that was?" Stiles frowned. "What were you thinking going after them?"

"I did it for Boyd." Cora snapped and glanced between Scott, Stiles, Alex, and Lydia. "None of you were doing anything."

"We're trying." Alex replied.

"And you're failing." Cora spoke. "You're just a bunch of stupid teenagers running around, thinking you can stop people from getting killed. But all you do is show up late." Scott and Alex shared a glance. "All you really do is find the bodies."

With that, Cora walked out, leaving the four glancing at each other.

"She's definitely a Hale..." Stiles sighed. "I'll make sure she gets home."

"I'll come." Alex spoke, Stiles nodding as the two followed Cora.

••••

"Philosophers?" Stiles frowned as Allison was on the phone, Alex sitting in the passenger seat and Cora in the back.

"And guardians. Which, after last night, has to mean something, like law enforcement, right?" Allison replied. "Stiles, you have to tell your dad. Tell him whatever you need, but you have to get him to believe. Tell your dad. Warn him."

"Okay, okay, okay, I know." Stiles sighed as he shared a glance with Alex.

"What are you gonna do?" Cora questioned from the back seat.

"I'm gonna tell him the truth." Stiles replied. "And I'm gonna need both of your help."

••••

Stiles paced around, finally stopping to glance at his dad. "Yes! Okay, no-"

"Stiles!" Noah interrupted. Alex and Cora glanced between the two Stilinski's as they were sat on Stiles' bed.

"Dad, I'm sorry, okay? I'm just- I'm trying to- I'm just trying to figure out how to start here." Stiles sighed.

"Hey, I don't have this kind of time." Noah spoke.

"Um..." Stiles swallowed. "For the last year, you had all these cases that you couldn't figure out, right? I mean, all the murders involving Kate Argent, and then Matt killing all the people that drowned him, and all these murders right now, it's like- it's like you've been playing a losing game."

"Stiles, the last thing I need right now is a job performance review from my own son." Noah replied, his eyes narrowed.

"I know." Stiles sighed, then took out a chess board. "The reason that you're losing the game is because you haven't seen the whole board."

Alex remembered the conversation in class about idioms.

"I need to show you the whole board." Stiles added.

••••

"Scott, Alex, and Derek are werewolves?" Noah frowned, glancing between Alex and Stiles, not believing his son.

"Yes." Stiles and Alex spoke at the same time, nodding.

"And Kate Argent was a werewolf?" Noah added.

"Hunter." Stiles corrected.

"Along with Allison and her father." Cora spoke.

"And- and my friend, Deaton, the veterinarian, is a kanima?" Noah asked.

"Wh- no, no, no, no, he's a Druid." Stiles corrected once again. "Well, we think." He gestured to Alex and Cora.

"So who's the kanima?" Noah frowned.

"Jackson." Stiles answered simply.

"No, Jackson's a werewolf." Noah's frown deepened.

"Jackson was a kanima first, and then Peter and Derek killed him, and then he came back to life as a werewolf, and now he's in London." Stiles explained, overwhelmed by his own explanation.

"Who's the Dar-ack?" Noah asked, pronouncing 'Darach' incorrectly.

"It's Darach." Stiles corrected again.

"We don't know yet." Alex sighed.

"We don't know yet." Stiles nodded, repeating the phrase.

"But he was killed by werewolves." Noah frowned, trying to make sense of the situation.

"Slashed up and left for dead." Stiles replied.

"We think." Cora added.

"We think." Stiles repeated the phrase.

Noah sighed and leaned back in the seat he was sitting on. "Why was Jackson the kanima?"

"Cause sometimes the shape you take reflects the person you are." Stiles explained.

"And what shape would an increasingly confused and angrier by the second father take?" Noah asked, getting progressively pissed off.

"Uh, that would be more of an expression." Stiles replied. "Like the one you're currently wearing..."

"Yeah." Noah nodded, standing up.

"Dad- I can prove it, okay?" Stiles spoke before his dad could leave. "They're both one of them. Werewolves." He gestured to Alex and Cora.

"Stiles!" Noah yelled. "That's enough."

"Dad, can you please just hold on?" Stiles asked as Noah reached the door.

"You guys ready?" Stiles asked the two girls. They nodded, Cora doing so weakly, and Alex doing so confidently.

They both stood up.

"Alright, dad, just watch this, okay?" Stiles spoke, however, before any of them could turn, Cora fell to the ground with a thud, Noah running up to Cora immediately.

"Call an ambulance." Noah spoke, facing Stiles and Alex.

••••

"It's guardians as in teachers. Allison and Isaac just found Mr Westover." Scott spoke over the phone.

"That makes sense." Stiles nodded, holding the phone in his hand, Alex right next to him. "Tara, she wasn't always a cop. She used to teach middle school."

"Then the last one's gotta be another teacher." Alex spoke, glancing at Stiles then to the phone in his hand.

"Yeah, but there's dozens of them, Lex, and they're all headed home." Stiles replied, glancing at the girl.

"No. No, they're not." Scott interrupted. "They're going to the recital."

••••

"What did you see the night at the bank when Scott was trying to save Deaton?" Stiles asked his father, walking alongside him, Alex following the two close behind.

"Nothing." Noah answered.

"Dad you saw him healing himself after he tried crossing the mountain ash." Stiles explained.

"I don't know what I saw." Noah replied.

"You saw something you can't explain." Stiles tried persuading his dad.

"Stiles, I have seen a lot of things I can't explain in this town." Noah stopped, turning to face his son. "That doesn't make them supernatural, and it doesn't make them real. They just found another body. That's real. And that's the lead I'm following."

Alex stopped as well from where she was, watching the scene.

"Yeah, and another teacher is going to die if you don't start listening to me." Stiles tried.

"I am listening! I have been listening!" Noah snapped, yelling at his son, Alex's eyes widening.

A few people stopped and stared at the outburst, Alex glancing around.

"You just don't believe." Stiles replied.

Noah walked away without saying anything, stopping when Stiles spoke again.

"Mom would've believed me."

••••

"Lydia?!" Alex called as her, Scott, and Stiles ran outside the school.

"Lydia?!" Stiles repeated, Scott doing the same.

"Lydia?!"

"She's not answering texts." Alex spoke as she glanced at her phone.

"What do we do?" Stiles asked. "Scott?"

Suddenly, a loud scream erupted from the classroom, causing both Scott and Alex to groan and hold their hands over their ears in pain.

"Scott? Alex?" Stiles frowned.

••••

Noah tried to shoot Jennifer, however, the teacher flung the gun to the ground and pushed Noah to the floor.

Scott and Alex both ran into the classroom in their full werewolf forms, charging at Jennifer, who had Lydia tied to a chair.

They growled as they made their way to the teacher, hopping over desks. Jennifer frowned, her face twisting into confusion at the two teens in their werewolf forms, not knowing previously that the two were, in fact, werewolves.

Scott swung at Jennifer's face as him and Alex approached her, Jennifer dodging the attack.

Alex punched the teacher in the face, Jennifer's face turning in the direction of the punch. She slowly glanced at Alex, holding her hand out in front of her and pushing the teenagers chest, flinging her to the back of the room.

Alex groaned as she slid down the space between two desks, holding onto the surface of them to try to hoist herself up. She spat out a bit of blood to the side of her as she groaned in pain.

Scott swung at the teacher again, Jennifer doing the same thing she did to Alex to Scott, the boy falling into a few rows of chairs roughly, spitting out blood as he fell to the ground.

Stiles ran up to the door, about to enter the classroom, however, Jennifer slid a desk to it, blocking the doorway.

Stiles pushed the door, glancing from Alex, his dad, and Scott on the ground, to Lydia tied up in the chair.

Noah picked up his gun, aiming at Jennifer as the teacher walked up to him slowly. "There was a girl. Years ago, we found her in the woods, her face and body slashed apart. That was you, wasn't it?" He inhaled a few shaky breaths as Jennifer stopped.

"Maybe I should've started with philosophers. With knowledge and strategy." Jennifer spoke as she began to walk closer to Noah.

The sheriff shot her in the leg, Jennifer hissing as she winced in pain. The place in her thigh where Noah shot had suddenly healed, Jennifer walking up to Noah once again.

"Healers." Jennifer spoke as she stabbed Noah in the side of his stomach, grabbing the grip of the knife that was still in his body and lifting the sheriff's body up.

Noah groaned loudly, the gun falling from his hands weakly, dropping to the floor. Jennifer pushed him against the same row of chairs she pushed Scott into. "Warriors." She spoke again as she ripped his badge off his shirt. "Guardians." Jennifer then crushed the badge in her hands simply, dropping it to the floor. "Virgins."

Suddenly, Jennifer connected her lips with Noah's roughly, pulling away seconds later to reveal her in her Druid form.

Alex widened her eyes from where she was.

Stiles hit the door roughly, trying to get in. He pushed the door, the desk eventually moving, Stiles running inside. Both Scott and Alex slowly stood up, still in their werewolf forms.

"Dad?!" Stiles exclaimed as he glanced at the spot where Noah once was.

The glass was broken. Jennifer had taken him.

hey :)

as promised, here is the ninth chapter (I also posted the eighth one just now too).

just a little psa, the chapters in which stiles is void will be a little shorter, as alex is involved as well (its in the description of this book), so in a few chapters time, just don't be surprised if they are a little shorter than normal.

thank you for reading, voting, and commenting as always 💓💓
