So last time the twins apologized to the children in town for their behavior towards them. Now Xander has to hold up his end of the bargain and propose to Yori! How will this go for him?

Mitsu and Momo has been thinking about how they've behaved for the last few years towards their family members. "Sis, what have we been doing?" Momo asked Mitsu who gave her a look that told her she was just as confused as her. "We've been brats Momo, just like everyone says." Mitsu said in the same downcast tone as she looked over at her sister. Before either of them could say another word, Erma entered the room with a concerned look on her face. "Oh hey Cus, what do you need?" Momo asked as she looked at her cousin with the best smile she could manage.
Erma sat down next to her cousins as the worried look never left her face. "We're fine Cus, we were just tired yesterday." Mitsu said as she tried to put Erma's mind at ease. Erma still looked concerned as she hugged the twins. "Alright, alright Cus don't get to sappy on us now!" Mitsu said in a joking tone as she and Momo returned Erma's hug. "Hey Erma wanna heat something amazing?" Momo asked as her cousin gave them a confused look. "Our dad is going to propose to our mom today!" Mitsu said as Erma quickly pulled the twins back into another strong hug.
Xander was rather nervous as he walked through the streets of town with Yori holding his hand. He made a promise to his daughters that he would propose to Yori, but he was still wondering how he was going to pull this off. "Hey you okay?" Xander turned his attention towards Yori, who was giving him a rather worried look. "It's just been a while since we've been alone like this." Xander said as he scratched the back of his head with his free hand. "Tell me about it! I love the twins, but they can be a real handful sometimes!" Yori said with a small chuckle.
                  Xander and Yori eventually made their way to the forest near the village before entering. "I'm surprised you wanted to come to the forest of all places Yori, thought you'd want to go somewhere to eat." Xander said as they walked through the trees. "After helping with preparations for the past few days, I kinda just want some quiet time." Yori said as she hugged Xander's arm. "That's fair, things have been pretty crazy the last few days." Xander said as he kissed the top of her head. The couple continued to make their way through the forest in silence.
            Eventually the two stopped by a river and took a seat on a rock. "So how are things at work? I'm hoping this little family trip didn't cause any trouble with your boss." Yori said as she looked at Xander. "The Chief understood, but he said once we get back I have to start on the normal work schedule." Xander explained as Yori let out a small laugh. "The girls won't be happy about you have 24 hour shifts." Yori said in between her laughs. "I don't think it'll bother them all that much, especially when they find out that I get the day off until I have to swap with the other squad for the next shift." Xander said with a laugh of his own.
                  Yori looked at Xander before leaning her head against his chest and letting out a content sigh. "I can't tell you how happy I am to have you back. The twins have also been in a better mood then I've every seen them in." Yori said as she continued to lose herself in Xander's embrace. "It's my fault, their poor behavior was most likely a result of my absence. They told me kids used to bully them for not having a father in their life." Xander explained as Yori looked at him in surprise. "They never mentioned that to me, geez some mom I am." Yori said with a half hearted laugh as she looked down sadly. Xander gently tightened his hold on Yori as he planted another kiss on her head.
"Hey now, you did your best on your own. If you wanna talk about bad parenting, look at me! I wasn't even there when they were born." Xander said as he tried to cheer Yori up as best as he could. Yori let out another laugh before she pulled Xander into a kiss. "You always know how to cheer me up, you know that?" Yori said as she smiled at Xander. "I don't have many talents, but that is one of them." Xander responded as Yori gently slapped his shoulder. The couple started to notice the sky getting dark as they got up and began to head back.
Xander grabbed Yori's wrist in order to stop her from leaving the forest. "Is something wrong?" Yori asked as she gave Xander a confused look. "There's something I wanna show you before we head back." Xander said as Xander led Yori down a path that led to the top of a hill. When the couple got to the top they were able to get a perfect view of the city below. "Okay while this is a nice view, why did you bring me up here?" Yori asked as she looked over at her boyfriend with a questioning look as she waited for an answer.
Xander brushes his fingers against the ring box as he looked at Yori, this was a moment he had been waiting years for now was his chance. "Just enjoy the view, trust me it'll be worth it." Xander said as Yori turned around and looked down at the city below. "Alright, but I still think your being a weirdo, then again that is in character for you!" Yori said with a laugh as she didn't notice Xander pull the box out of his pocket before standing next to her. Xander grabbed both of Yori's hands as she gave him yet another confused look for his actions.
Xander dropped down on one knee before opening the ring box to the absolute shock of Yori. "Yori Yureimoto, the day I left you because of your father was the biggest mistake of my life. Right now if you would let me, I'd like to fix that mistake, Yori would you marry me?" Xander asked as tears started to form in the corners of Yori's eyes. "YES! Yes Xander Arons I will marry you!" Yori said as she tackled Xander to the ground in a bone crushing hug. Xander laughed as tears of his own started to fall as he returned his now fiancé's hug.
Xander placed the simple diamond ring on her finger before they started to make their way home. To their surprise Rin was waiting for them at the door. "So you were able to ask her on your own? Shame, I kinda wanted to lock you two in a room. That being said congratulations." Rin said with a smile before entering the house. "Wanna tell me what that was about?" Yori asked her fiancé as she gave him a confused look. "I asked each of your siblings for their blessings and Rin threatened me that if I didn't man up and ask you myself." Xander said as a light blush spread across his face.
Yori couldn't help but laugh at her sister's grand plan to get Xander to propose to her. "Hey give me a break! You have no idea how nervous I was out there!" Xander said as Yori only laughed harder at his words. After the rest of the Yureimoto siblings congratulated the couple, Fumiko pulled Xander to the side. "So now your in for the long ride, I hope you know there's no backing out now." Fumiko said as she gave Xander a surprisingly playful smile. "After being forced apart for so long, do you honestly think I'm afraid of your father? I'm pissed off, but not afraid." Xander said as Fumiko simply laughed.
Xander and Yori returned to their room to get ready for dinner, but they were immediately tackled by Mitsu and Momo. "Did you do it dad?!" The Twins asked in unison as they looked at their father in excitement. "Does this answer your question girls?" Yori asked as she held up her hand with her engagement ring on it. The twins only hugged their parents tighter as the couple smiled at each other before wrapping their daughters in a hug of their own. The family separated before heading downstairs to join everyone else for dinner.

Okay so you guys are getting two new chapters for this story! I wanted to release chapter along with the last one, cause I know you guys have been waiting quite awhile for updates. Before the usual ending notes I wanna update you guys. Today I got Animal Crossing: New Horizons on my Switch! This is my first Animal Crossing, and despite only playing for two hours or so I do see why everyone loves the series!
