"A long time ago, during the creation of the universe, Life and Death battled.

Long fights destroyed space, leaving sparks of pure energy left in the open.

During one of their clashes, a part of Life and Darkness' soul was torn apart and emerged into one body.

An ancient race called the Griffilin, once lived in a small continent of what is now Mars. The race was God's most loved race as they were intelligent, cunning and kind.

When the souls were torn apart from Life and Death, God gave one Griffilin baby the two pieces as a gift. That child was called Sean. However, being different from his kind, he was disowned, tortured and thrown away like trash.

Then, one day, God felt pity towards that boy and decided to place seals on his soul and put him into eternal slumber.

As a punishment, Death had to put the boy in hell and keep his soul safe and-"

"Enough of your magical stories, Saffire," a voice called from behind.

Hi, I'm Saffire and I'm more or less what you'd call a 'normal teenager', that is except for my weird obsession with a mythical things.

Since my mom read me a myth when I was 5, I fell in love with magical things. Sure, there's those fans who like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, but I brought the word obsession to a whole new level. My friends say that it's an unhealthy thing, but it's not like it was going to 'be my demise' or anything.

And as for my appearance? Well, I look quite plain to be frank. I have long, chestnut brown hair that falls down my back and large almond shaped eyes. I dress like everybody else, well, that's because we have a school uniform and I possess no special physical features.

"Saffire!" A stringy voice broke my train of thoughts. It must be Olivia. Who's Olivia? She's the school's most popular girl who flirts with almost every male she sees, yes, including animals. She had ocean blue eyes that shined like stars in the milky night, and a gorgeous figure. Yeah, I know, the perfect girl.

"Yeeees,"I rolled my eyes. It was only the afternoon, but I was tired.

"Tyler wants to talk to you," Olivia said with a hint of jealousy.

"What does he want?" I sighed. I wasn't in the mood to talk to another person who was just going to rant on and on about their issues. "I'm-"

"I don't know. Go and see for yourself! Am I some message girl? Cuz' the last time I checked, I was the most popular girl at school," Olivia huffed with annoyance. Clearly, she didn't like that fact that Tyler wanted to see me, but we were just normal friends. Just because we were childhood friends didn't mean that we had some sort of relationship. However, that didn't stop the girls from feeling jealous over nothing! You see, Tyler was the sweet and handsome type of guy that attracted many girls. Every aspect of him was, well, perfect.

"Okay, okay! I got it!"

Not trying to anger Princess Olivia, I quickly hopped out of my chair and walked towards the classroom door.

"Ugh! Why does she get to talk to Tyler? She's not special at all," Olivia mumbled under her breath, loud enough for me to hear.

"Let me spell it out for you, Olivia! I. Don't. Like. Tyler. Got it," I glared at her. Jeez, this was probably the a hundredth time I told her that I didn't like Tyler.

"Hphm," Olivia muttered. "I bet it's nothing important anyways!"

Immediately, I walked out of the classroom, and dragged myself to Tyler, who was unexpectedly alone at the roof of the school. The roof was off limits, and Tyler was the last person I knew to break the rules. Odd, right?

"Tyler," I asked, slowly walking to the roof, hoping that the teachers weren't around. "You called?"

Tyler turned around and I could see his face clearly, but something about him was off. Sure, he still had the same regal face and the same bright smile, but something about his aura was different. "Yeah. I was just lonely."

I titled my head. "Really?"

"Yeah," Tyler gave me the world's biggest smirk. "It's just that- Just that-"

"What?"

"Help me will you? I need to open the portal to hell and I want you to lend me your powers and-"

"Whoa, there. I'm lost. Are you pulling a prank or something? As much as I love mythical things, you don't have to go as far as to pretend I have powers!"

"Girl, I'm warning you! Help me, and we will conquer-"

" Okay, okay! First things first, the Tyler I know doesn't even like mythology!"

Tyler hesitated, then grinned in a lopsided, evil way.

"Ah, how foolish of me. To think that you would immediately realize the difference...Well, never mind. So, Saffire, dear," Tyler's new metallic voice sent shivers to my spine. "I'll make it easy for you. Lend me your power or this boy dies."
