I wanted to argue and run away. I couldn't stand it. The faster you open the gate, the less chance you'll get killed? So I was going to get killed anyways even if I helped?

Anger and frustration filled me, but I contained it. I had to. If I didn't I might as well be dead. Julius' eyes glinted. His cold, distant expression didn't waver.

"Okay, I'll do it," I managed. "But, while I'm trying to open this gate, what are you going to do? Because the last time I checked, you have magical powers unlike me!"

Julius didn't reply, instead he gave me an expressionless look and pointed at me. He muttered a few words and said," I put an invisibility spell on you. I don't want you kidnapped before Master is revived. And to answer your question, I have some business to attend to. If you need any assistance, you may call my name and I will come."

I tilted my head. So I have to open the gate by myself, no back up or anything. Just me! Great!

"You didn't answer my second question," I said quietly as I caught a glimpse of a golden demon. "Why can't you open the gate yourself?"

Julius hesitated, and took a deep breath. After making sure no one was around us, he whispered,"Girl, I don't have much time, but I can spare a few second. I am unable to open the gate because I am a fallen spirit, and fallen spirits have a mixture of good and darkness in them which prevent them from opening the gate of hell."

"Okay-," I muttered. However, before I could ask Julius for some clues to help me open the gate, he conjured a black spiral portal and stepped inside, leaving me alone on the cramp street.

Great! I thought. Now I'm here alone, with no help or protection on the surface of hell!

I felt lonely and scared, but I forced myself to think. Not long after, my mind began to work its magic, and a thought hit me. The death scythe! I could try to open the door with the scythe.

Immediately, I ran down the street to where I last saw the bright light. The howling and chattering of the demons echoed throughout the streets and alleys, giving the place a haunted atmosphere.

As I ran forward, Bella, who was supposedly Julius' comrade, caught my eye. She had a dark aura around her and her face was masked with a grim look. Bella walked down the alley with a couple of armed demons, who followed behind her.

Intimidated by Bella's contrasting aura, I quickly scurried behind a building, peeking over to see what Bella was doing.

"I can't believe Julius would ignore me like that," Bella growled. "I bet that girl in the cloak gave Julius a love potion to steal him away from me! Ugh! Filithy girl!"

Well, she said nothing helpful!

I rolled my eyes. Bella was exactly like Olivia. Both had the same infuriating attitude and a gifted ability to misunderstand people.

Remembering my task, I turned around and ran down the alley. As I approached the light, I felt the scythe calling me. Odd, right? As soon as I got 3 meters from the scythe, I noticed the scythe pulsing. Normally, I would have ran away, but it was surprisingly fascinating and calming. As I stepped closer to the scythe, the light flared brighter, blinding my eyes. Slowly, I grabbed the handle of the silver scythe.

"Taking something that doesn't belong to you, hm? That's not good, little girl," a familiar voice hissed.

I turned around to see Bella and the armed demons.

"You can see me, " I stuttered. I was sure Julius put an invisibility spell on me.

"Why, girl, I'm not one of the top ten demons for nothing," Bella snickered as she gave a glance to the demons following her. "You stole Julius from me, but I'll forgive you. In fact, I'll give you a gift-"

"No thanks," I sputtered. I had a feeling that Bella's 'gift' would be something horrible, and I was probably right. "My parents actually taught me not to accept gifts from strangers. So....Bye!"

I immediately turned around and ran away with the scythe.

"Girl, you can run away, but you can't hide," Bella laughed as she drew some Latin letters in the air.

***

When I glanced back, I saw Bella and some armed demons chasing after me. I was scared, honestly. Compared to Bella, Julius seemed almost nice! Although I'm a girl too, I have to admit that jealous girls, are terrifying, especially when they have magical powers at their disposal!

Run faster, Saffire! I urged myself.

As I approached the gate, Bella suddenly appeared before me. The black smoke that blanketed over her body dispersed as she walked towards me.

"The games over, girl. Hand me the scythe," Bella chided.
