I tilted my head. So was getting me all a part of a job? Although I didn't really care, deep down I felt betrayed.

"Bella, we better get going. Bye," Julius said coolly. It seemed as if he didn't seem to notice Bella's flirty expression or was completely unaffected by it. Although I didn't care, since Julius had Tyler's face and body, I felt a ting of relief.

"Aw, please stay a little long," Bella the demon whined flirtatiously as she reached out to touch Julius' hand, to only get rejected. "Plus, everyone wants to revive Master anyways. So why don't you just let me help you?"

"Bella," Julius warned. "I need to go. Bye."

Immediately, Julius walked past Bella leaving her with a hurtful expression.

"Who was she," I wondered out loud.

"No one. Just a....Ah, comrade of mine."

"Oh."

As Julius tugged my hand to make sure I didn't escape, I noticed a blazing light. It seemed to be the only thing that lit the darkness of the alley we were walking in.

"Julius," I whispered as silently as I could. "What is that?"

"What's what," Julius barked.

I pointed my finger towards the light located at the corner of a dead end. "Over there. That luminous object. Can't you see it?"

"No. You must be seeing things," Julius shook his head.

"I know there's something there. Even if you can't see it, I know it's there. It's almost as if the light is calling me," I murmured.

Julius turned around. "What?"

A look of disbelief spread across his face. Did I say something wrong? I hope not.

"N-nothing. Can I perhaps, go near it to see what it is," I asked, knowing that within the next second, Julius was going to say 'no'.

"Fine," Julius said as he looked around to make sure no one was around.

I smiled. I was sure Julius was rotten to the core, but I guess his old 'good' spirit was still there. "Thank you!"

As I walked closer to the light, I saw that the object that was illuminating the light was a scythe. The scythe was the sharpest thing I've ever seen. Just a glance at the scythe sent shivers to my spine. The weapon had a delicate silver handle that had the words "Thaed dna efil fo retsam eht ot" etched onto the side.

"Can you see that scythe," I asked Julius.

"What scythe, Saffire," Julius squinted his eyes. "There is no scythe! Saffire, don't make jokes with me. I've been here long enough to know if Death's scythe was here. Now move along. I need to you to open the gate of hell. "

"But-," I stopped midway. I knew that arguing wouldn't convince him or save myself and Tyler, so I just continued walking, glancing back the last time at the scythe.

Julius led me to a dark, cramp street with cob webs in every corner. The street was different from the alley we were walking in, the air was colder, but humid was well. It seemed as though the air itself seemed to have the power of death. However, that didn't bother me. In fact, I liked it. Odd, right? Usually, any person would feel uncomfortable and pass out, but it was like a dream. I was experiencing what the surface of hell was like, and in person!

"Girl, step aside," Julius stepped forward and began to mutter a few Latin words.

I titled my head. What was he doing? If he had magic powers, couldn't he just 'poof' the gate open by himself?

Suddenly, white smoke covered the ground. Sparks lit the dark sky. As the smoke cleared, I saw what Julius conjured with his magic. A beautiful, rusted gold door with chains appeared in front of me.

"This is the gate of hell. I need you to open it. I don't care how you open it, but you just need to open it before dawn," Julius ordered.

Open the gate of hell before dawn? Okay, let me get this straight. First, I don't have powers. Second, I'm in hell! How am I supposed to know when dawn is?

Frustration and panic filled my mind.

"E-excuse me?" I glared at Julius. "How am I supposed to do that? I don't even know when dawn is! "

Julius gave me a blank stare, then he regained his posture. "You don't need to know. But, if you must....I'll make this easier for you. The faster you open the gate, the less chance you'll be killed. Got it?"
