Norah took a deep breath as she listened to instructions from the Mindfulness video her therapist had her start listening to, at first she didn't think it would work but after a while, Norah noticed that it was. Of course, she knew that Hugh was still watching her but it was making his voice quieter, plus the medicine she was on was helping with that. At least her audio hallucinations improved, but she was still seeing him, which is something Norah will have to bring up with her therapist the next time she sees her.

Her therapist also brought up the topic of sexuality with Norah, she mentioned when Norah had dated a girl in High School and Nancy had asked her if she is interested in being with another woman which Norah had hesitated but said yes, and then when Nancy asked about being with another man Norah turned up her face in disgust, Norah closes her eyes quickly as her memories started to play the conversation over in her head again.

Nancy hummed before writing something down on her pad. "I couldn't help but notice you turned your nose up in disgust when I asked if you would date another guy but when I asked that about women you didn't do that." Norah didn't answer she just kept her eyes trained on the lines in the carpet. "Can I ask you something, did you ever love Hugh?"

Norah sighed as she thought about the answer, she tried to ignore Hugh's eyes staring into her as she answered honestly. "I think so, but that stopped about after a year of being together which is right when he proposed." Nancy tilted her head at Norah looking at her intrigued. "Why do you think that is?"

"I think, I stopped being attracted to him. Maybe in high school, Norah loved him because he was safe and easy but I don't think I should've been with him. I wish that I could tell Norah that it's okay. Is it normal to have a sexuality crisis at my age?" Norah chuckled as she rubbed her eyes when she felt the tears start to well in her eyes, Nancy smiled softly before she pushed the box of tissues closer which Norah wasn't going to take but she did and balled it up in her hand.

"Perfectly normal, don't feel ashamed. It's not your fault, you didn't know that you could fully open that part of yourself, you thought you had to be with Hugh to have a safe life in America because he was white and rich. You don't have to be anymore and I'm not going to push you to date, but whenever you're ready you can fully explore that part of yourself." Norah didn't have to look at Hugh to see the disdain on his face but she ignored it for once and looked at Nancy with a smile. "I will try, I know that it will be difficult but I will do my best."

Nancy opened her eyes to see Hugh staring at her, she could see his mouth move but the sound wasn't coming out which made her smirk. She was learning to take back control, something that she hasn't had in a long time. She's thought about contacting the girl from High School again, just to check up on her but she knew it wasn't her place.

Plus, Norah doesn't know if she's ready to date someone but what she does know is that she doesn't like men. After a few days of late-night online searching at the local library, she ordered herself a small lesbian flag and hung it in her living room and every time she sees it a big smile grows across her face. Norah knows that she has a long way to go but she feels like she can finally be happy, she gasps when she admits this to herself. The gasp catches the attention of Hugh who quickly stops talking and looks towards Norah.

She presses her lips together as she sits up on the couch and grabs her phone, she opens the app store and types in a random dating app. Her finger hovers over the install button, and when she's about to press on it a bubble of anxiety appears in her stomach, she's never been on one before not to mention this would be the first time she puts herself out there. She closes her eyes in frustration before she turns her phone off and throws it onto the couch in anger.

She crosses her arms behind her head and leans back against the couch, her fingers brushing against the flag that was attached to the wall. Norah can hear patterns of Hugh's voice trying to speak but she ignores it and tries to push him out of her mind, which she knows is easier said than done but she has to try. Norah lets out a grunt as she gets up from the couch and walks towards her kitchen, she looks towards the stove and thinks about what to do for dinner but decides to just order some pizza instead, she chuckles as she walks towards the couch and grabs her phone to dial the number for Pizza Patriarch. "Hi, can I have a medium pepperoni pizza please?" Norah says into the phone before nodding when she gets a response back.

She rattles off her address before she ends the call when instructed, she turns off her phone and twiddles her thumbs which were resting in her lap. Of course, she was worried that her life would blow up in her face, that thought was always around but she couldn't think about that, she had to focus on how good her life was right now instead of focusing on the bad.

NOTES:

AND WITH THAT, ACT TWO IS FINISHED!
Things are looking up for Norah, but she hasn't completely fallen in love with the one yet.
Stay tuned for whenever I post act three which will either be posted when I finish another part or I finish another book.
