Midnight was currently in Muse-ic class waiting for the teacher the Pied Piper to turn up. Midnight was an okay musician he would spend hours singing and occasionally dancing at the pound near his fathers palace. but he knew muse-ic was never for him. he hoped he would find what he wanted to do after his destiny is fulfilled at Ever After High. he was sitting in between Humphrey Dumpty the son of Humpty Dumpty and Kitty Cheshire the mischievous daughter of the Cheshire Cat. "so uh guys how was your summer" he asked. Humphrey shrugged. "it was ok" he said.

kitty grinned mischievous at him. "it was purrrrrrfect" Kitty said. Midnight rolled his eyes. he knew it meant kitty was probably playing pranks on people all over Bookend. "so princy how was your summer" Kitty asked. "it was ok nothing eventful" he said. kitty pouted. "aw then i guess i should visit you during school break" kitty said. "sure go for it i would love to see my dads reaction" Midnight said giggling. "you really dont like your dad huh" Humphrey asked. "no its my dad who doesn't like me he hates me"m Midnight said.

"Good Morning students" said the teacher as he entered. the teacher was none other than the pied piper of hamiln who lured the children of Hamlin away along with the city's rats. "Good morning Professor Professor Piper" the students said. "welcome students to your legacy year i remember so many of your faces from last year" the man said looking at the packed room. "but this is now your legacy year where students like you will be prepared to take over your parents roles. in this class i see everyone of you who have muse-ic in your stories and my responsibility like the rest of teachers here are to make sure you fulfill your roles perfectly" he said smiling. midnight smiled. he was looking forward to what this year held but also slightly nervous he wouldn't be able to become the perfect Black Swan. the pied piper pulled out a piece of parchment with he students names on them "now the pairs yes year will be as followed, Humphrey dumpty and Melody Piper" the pied piper read aloud. "Duchess Swan and Sparrow Hood". Duchess looked ruffled. midnight smirked. he remembered from last year Duchess was a terrible singer. "Kitty Cheshire and Midnight Black" he said .

Midnight wasn't sure how to respond to that. he and Kitty never really spend any time together. when the pied piper finished reading the pairs out loud he put the piece of parchment away. "This year for your legacy year you will compose a piece of muse-ic that best reflects your destinies you'll have the rest of the period to think of a concept for your projects" he said. Kitty moved closer to Midnight as Humphrey left to move. "so what shall our song be" kitty asked. "i dont know ive never written a song before" he said.

"To help you with your pieces I encourage you to use your stories as inspiration" Professor Piper said sitting down at his desk.

"Well that's helpful" Midnight said. "How exactly" Kitty asked. "Simple Kitty your story is about wonder, curiosity madness and magic mine is about love magic and tragedy after all the heroine gets turned into a Swan for the rest of her days" he said.

"So it could be a love song" Kitty said. "Exactly now we just have to come up with sheet muse-ic and lyrics" Midnight said. "That all huh" Kitty said sarcastically.

By the end of the class everyone looked pleased with themselves expect Kitty and Midnight. "We spent all class trying to come up with lyrics and nothing" Midnight said as he left his class. "Yeah song writing is hard" Kitty said.

"Especially when our stories are so so different" Midnight said. "I wonder why Professor Piper put us together" Kitty said. Midnight went wide eyed at that statement. I wonder he thought. "DO YOU WONDER" he cried out.

"Yeah I do wonder" Kitty said. "That's not what I mean that could be the title of our song do you wonder" Midnight said. Kitty started grinning. "That. Is.so. HEXCELLENT" Kitty cried out.

"I'll begin working on lyrics tonight and show you what I got tomorrow" Midnight said. "Purrrfect laters I got Places to be princy" Kitty said waving and grinning. She disappeared leaving only her grin behind.

Midnight smiled and rolled his eyes. Guess you can't teach a old Cheshire new tricks. He thought.

Midnight smiled and left for his next class with lyrics already filling his head
