"What are you reading?" Draco asked, cheekily snatching the book out of his girlfriend's hands.

Hermione glared up at him, pretending to be annoyed, but really, she was melting at the sight of those deep grey eyes.

"Hogwarts: A History," Draco read out, tossing it back at Hermione with disgust. "Didn't you already read that, like, 15 years ago?"

"Hey, it's a good book!" Hermione countered defensively. " I'm really enjoying the section about..." but Draco had stopped listening, knowing after 5 years of dating Hermione that nothing could stop her when she started talking about her all time favourite book.

The war had changed Draco. He once used to care only about living up to the expectations placed on him, but after his father was thrown in Azkaban, his cold heart thawed, and he became a vulnerable and broken boy. For years, all Draco could remember was fighting to get through each day. That all changed when he got to know a certain brown-eyed, bushy-haired girl by the name of Hermione, who had just broken up with Ron. They realised that they weren't right together, and so the split was mutual.

In the days that followed, Hermione withdrew into herself. She had lost so much in the war, and she felt depressed and saddened by all her losses. She thought of Fred, Remus, Tonks and everyone else daily, trying not to let the pain get to her too much. She was wandering the streets late one night, no clear destination in mind, when she ran into a sobbing Draco. One thing led to another, and after a couple of months, they officially became a couple.

Now, they were happy together. Draco's rebellious streak had returned, which had started to rub off on Hermione. However, to his immense disappointment, Hermione was still a bookworm, a habit that she had tried to coax him into. But Draco wasn't having any of It, only consenting to Hermione reading him a chapter of her book each night.

That's right, Hermione had written a book, about her time at Hogwarts. Surprisingly, Draco found that he was really enjoying the book, as he loved hearing all her little tales.
Hermione tried to focus on the good memories of Hogwarts, although some sad moments occasionally slipped onto her mind, causing her to break down. But Draco was always there to rub her back and comfort her, and vice versa.

As Hermione picked up her book and continued to read, Draco plonked himself down next to her.

"Mione," he whined. "I'm hungry. Can you bake me something?"

"You're hungry or you're bored?" Hermione countered.

"Both!" Draco exclaimed. "And it would really please your boyfriend if you made me some brownies..." He looked up at his girlfriend expectantly.

Hermione sighed. She couldn't resist the 'boyfriend' card. "Fine... but you have to help me, my little dragon," she tried.

Draco looked at her in disgust. "Where did that name come from?"

"Because Draco means dragon... I was just trying it out..." she trailed off.

Draco considered for a moment. "I don't mind it," he admitted sheepishly.

Hermione smiled at him, before grabbing his hand and dragging him into the kitchen and forcing him into an apron.

"Ugh, it's pink!" Draco exclaimed.

"Deal with it," Hermione replied playfully.

As the couple started to bicker about what flavour of brownies to bake, they subconsciously reached for each other's hands. They were head-over-heels for each other, that was plain to see. Although fighting was what they were best at, they really did adore each other. And they would continue to do so.

Forever.
