Gray slept like a dog, Natsu, on the other hand, a little bit more trouble.  He was a little nervous, of everything in general. His parents, their opinion of Gray, what Gray is feeling, and the fact that Gray's dad might not actually be dead. But that left Natsu with a burning question,

Why would Gray's dad be here?

Then several more bloomed.

If he was alive then why never reach out to Gray? What really happened when Deliorah attacked Gray's town? Did he flee? Is his dad not who Gray thought he is?

Is Gray truly, fully human?

Thinking about all of this gave Natsu a massive headache, so he stopped. It wasn't like he wasn't used to Gray filling his thoughts, he is used to it.

Despite, whatever happens, he wants to be there for Gray.

Natsu eventually fell asleep. Despite being a rather heavy sleeper, he was still awoken by a loud noise at his door.

Natsu groaned and threw his face into a pillow. He checked a clock, it was 9 am.

Natsu groaned and got up to answer the door, only to see that Gray had already answered it.

"Oh," Natsu yawned.
"Uhh, Natsu, your mom is here, " Gray awkwardly stepped aside to reveal his mom.

A cheerful looking woman with long black hair and sparkling golden eyes. Her black dress was knee length and you could see wings poking out the back. She had her hair in a ponytail that revealed pointy ears. She was also enormously tall, a good 6'5. She was holding a brownie pan that smelled good.

"Gray this is my mom, Selene. Mom this is my friend, Gray." Natsu sighed, "Gray she's not annoying you I hope, you get enough of that from me."

"Aw, how cute. I'm glad you inherited my supreme annoyance skills!" Selene pulled Natsu under her arm and noogied him.

"ACK!" Natsu protested reaching out for Gray for help.

"Good luck," Gray laughed.

"You two should come over! Natsu's father and Silver are having coffee!" Selene released Natsu and her wings started to flutter making her float.

She shoved the brownies into Gray's arms.

"My dad is...something," Natsu grumbled.

"Sigh- I wish you two got along better," Selene looked down.

"Wait, Silver?" Gray froze.

Natsu figured that was Gray's father's name.

"Yes, Silver Fullbuster, he's your dad? Is he not?" Selene blinked.

"Yeah he is, but, I guess he's not dead." Gray looked down.

"Oh, yea, uh, I forgot about that, No, he's fine." Selene looked around, then quickly waved a preppy goodbye before flying away.

"Gray, are you ok?"
"I'm something."

Natsu hugged him, Gray muttered something, "What fucking happened? Was I not good enough...?"

"No, no, you're always good enough, and if someone can't see that then they're stupid," Natsu felt bad for him.

"At least your mom's nice, "  Gray tried to smile, "Your dad can't be that bad."

Natsu rolled his eyes, "My mom tries too hard, but yes she's preppy. My dad, well, I'd say he's similar to Laxus or something."

"Oh," Gray looked around, still embraced by Natsu.
Gray thought he smelled nice and that he was warm.

"Yeah, but my dad gets extra points for being a dick." Natsu buried his face in the crook of Gray's neck.

Natsu indulged in the moment, blushing slightly.

Gray laughed, "Mine too."

Natsu and Gray let go of each other (reluctantly) and made their way down to Natsu's parent's house in the middle of town.
