Y/N's POV:

I opened my eyes.

This was the day! I brushed my teeth, took a shower, wore my clothes, put my laurel on and opened the door. It was 5:00 am, I always had to wake this early when the gods trained me. I hurried to the throne room and saw Lady Palutena sitting there with a bored look on her face.

"Greetings Lady Palutena." I bowed and stood next to her throne.

"Wow you're here early!" she looked surprised "Pit usually wakes up by 7;30 and gets here by nine." she continued. "Zeus taught me to be ready for work at 5." I explained.

She laughed, "well now I have time to get to know you!" she smiled. "Ok, how do you fight? any weapons?" she asked.

"I use martial arts and if I have weapons I use the dagger of shadows and the scimitar of light." I answered. "I'm not very good with bows..." I admitted with embarrassment "Artemis always got frustrated with me." I laughed remembering the blond goddess hopping up and down with frustration.

Lady Palutena laughed "You must have been close." she said.

"Yes we were." I said remembering how she was an older sister figure for me.

Was.

"What's your favourite food?"

"Ice cream."

"I hope you don't eat it from the floor..." She looked at me suspiciously. Ew! Ice cream?! From the floor?! "EW! NO! WHO DOES?!" I exclaim wrinkling my nose.

"Pit."

We both burst out laughing. Lady Palutena is nicer than I imagined!

Pit's POV:

I get out of my room all ready and make my way to the throne room. Why am I up this early? Well to show Lady Palutena that I can to be a responsible servant. I reach there and hear voices, I hide behind the door way.

"What's your favorite food?"

"Ice cream."

"I hope you don't eat it from the floor..." Palutena looks suspiciously at Y/N. The moment of truth... who wouldn't like floor ice cream?!

"EW! NO! WHO DOES?!"

"Pit." says Lady Palutena

They both start laughing... betrayal. I jump out of my hiding spot and shout "Hey! Floor ice cream gives you health!".

"What are you doing up so early Pit?" Lady Palutena asks in surprise "I'm here to prove that I can also be proper and polite." I explain. "Y/N got here first." she states. "oh." I scratch the back of my neck.

"Good morning!" I say even though it's a bit too late for that. "Good morning as well Pit." says Lady Palutena.

Greetings, Pit." says Y/N in that proper voice. Why is she so serious all the time?

"Oh, Pit, Y/N was telling me about herself and her experience in combat." Lady Palutena says with a gleam in her eye. I know that look, what's she planning now??

"Since things have been boring around here.." Oh NO! is she planning what I think she's planning?!

"Maybe you and Y/N could engage in some combat?"

Called it.

I turn to Y/N in excitement "What is your weapon anyways?" I ask her, it's been a while since anything interesting happened.

"I use the dagger of shadows and the scimitar of light in nunchuck form." I look at her blankly so she elaborates.

"I got the scimitar of light from the top of mount Olympus by climbing to the top and then taking a test of purity. The scimitar of light allows me to travel at the speed of light for short amounts at a time. I got the dagger of shadows in the underworld. It allows me to become dark matter which makes all attacks towards me go through me. Both are at the expense of my life energy." She explains.

"How did you get the dagger of shadows?" I innocently ask "Wasn't Hades there?".

"Yes he was." is all Y/N says.

Lady Palutena takes us to a field and explains the rules "Best of three to put their weapon at the throat of the other wins!" then she sits and watches.

easy for her to say... "GO!" she screams.

Y/N comes at me with her nunchucks and slashes at my face, I rush to block it but it was a distraction. She lightly kicks me in the stomach, it doesn't hurt but it is enough to make me crouch down.

She goes in for another slash with her dagger of shadows but I manage to block it. She pushes against it but I have more strength than she does, I finally break her pose and am about to put my swords at her throat. Then she disappears and I feel a light pressure at my neck.

Flip.

I forgot she could do that.

"And Y/N wins this round!" Screams Lady Palutena "Wow Pit and I thought you were good!" Lady Palutena taunts.

"Oh yeah?!" I shout "I'll show you good!" and go in for the next round.

After three rounds me and Y/N are panting and and slouching. I sat down in exhaustion. Worst of all we are tied. "wow a tie!" says Lady Palutena "that was fun to watch!" and she leaves. And I am left alone with Y/N.

Y/N offered me her hand and heaved me up. I felt butterflies in my stomach. "Good game." she says with a small smile. "wow! you were so good!" I beam at her.
