Grace's POV:

The stage manager runs out. "Where did the rest of the band go?" He asks. Then one of Carrie's minions speaks out. "Where those holograms?" I let out a sigh of relief. "Yes!" I exclaim, thankful for her outburst of curiosity.

"Yes, they were holograms. Um, we plugged it into the ceiling projector before the show. We could explain it, but it involves algorithms and science stuff." Julie improvises. "Ok people, show's over. Let's get back to class please." The principal says.

Mrs. Harrison walks up to the stage. Julie and I sit on the edge. "Mrs. Harrison, we're so sorry for not asking permission, but we just wanted to show you that we belong." Julie says. "As amazing as that was, your spots have already been filled by other students." She says. My heart sinks.

I look to my left to see two little boys dragging huge instruments down the steps. "Come on, those things are way too big for them." I say. "They'll grow into them." She insists. I sigh. "I wish that I could help you, but my hands are tied." She says. The principle walks up to us.

"Mine aren't, and as much as I didn't approve of this little stunt that you two pulled, I will not go down in history as the principal who kicked Julie and Gracelyn Molina out of the music program." She says. "Thank you!" We say in unison.

"But, when you win your first Grammy, I want to be thanked." She says. I laugh and nod. "Defiantly." Julie agrees. "Thank you." Mrs. Harrison tells the principal before turning to us. "Congratulations! Welcome back!" She says, hugging us before leaving.

We spot Flynn waiting for us so we jump off the stage and walk over to her. "Wow, you two did it." She says. "Thanks to you." Julie praises. Flynn doesn't look happy though. "Hey, you ok?" I ask. "Uh, I"m great. When did you two start playing with the hologram band?" She asks.

"Oh, it was just one song, we're not a band." Julie reassures. "They're a band. A hologram band." I add. "Definitely holograms." I elbow her. "Yeah, I saw. Why have you been keeping those cute boys a secret?" She asks. My heart drops. Oh no. "There's a reason for that." Julie says.

"It's just really crazy." I say. "Oh, I'm all about crazy, let's hear it." She says. "Ok, um, so, they're from Sweden." She says. "Yeah, turns out that they're not only great at making meatballs, but they're also good at making music." I say.

"Yeah, so they play there, we stream them here, we play together, they leave, then that's it." "Anyways, who's excited that we're back in the music program?" I ask, trying to get her off the topic. It didn't work. "Jules, Grey, are you two lying to me?" She asks. Both of our smiles drop.

"Yeah." I say. "Yeah, we're lying." Julie adds. "Since when do we lie to each other?" She asks. "Flynn, I'm sorry." I say "'I'm sorry'? That's all you've got?" She asks, appalled. She just scoffs and runs away. "Flynn." I call. "Wait Flynn! No!" Julie calls as we chase after her.

We lose her in the hallway. "Julie, Grace, those holograms were so cool. It's like we were in Coachella, but not in the desert, and there was no sweat." A random guy says, coming up to us. "Thanks." I say. With that they leave, but then Nick is there. When I see him I blush.

I know if the situation with Flynn wasn't as serious Julie would be smirking at me. "It's true. That was incredible." He says. I blush and smile at him. "It was way better than when you cried and ran out." I'm angry now, we're just trying to get to Flynn.

"Hey, um, maybe we should get to science." Nick suggests. "Yeah, and then maybe you can study the chemical properties of manners or something." Julie says. "Was that supposed to be a comeback?" She asks. "No, but  this is, nice faux lace front, is the reason the lace is showing because you have to return it when done?" I ask.

With that I grab Julie's hand and drag her through the hall. "Nice one." "Not really, but there's no time to evaluate whether it was good or not, we need to find Flynn." I say. She nods. We go through the hallways, but no luck we're about to walk down another when the guys scare us.

"JULIE! GRACE!" They tell. "AH!" We scream, not expecting them. "You. Stop doing that." Julie snaps. They boys all have goofy smiles on their faces. I wish I could be happy that they were able to be seen, but I'm too worried about fixing out friendship with Flynn.

"Whoa, this one's on you, we were already here. Well, actually we were over there and then we came over here." Reggie says. "Are we not gonna talk about what just happened?" Luke asks. "Yeah, the whole school saw you. It's kinda freaking me out." Julie says. I nod. "Same here."

"Ok, good, cause it's kind freaking me out too. You could see us, and people can see us when we play music. My clothes are made of air, but for some reason I still ahem a wedgie." Alex rambles. He looks very stressed.

"The important thing is, we rocked that place. They were loving you. Honestly Grace, I'm starting to think you made up that stage fright." Luke says, grinning. I laugh. "Are you kidding, they were loving us. That was a great song Luke, thanks." I say. He grins happily at me.

"And did you guys see the cheerleaders looking at me? I think they were looking at me. Were they looking at me?" Reggie asks, grabbing Luke by the shoulders. "Bro, they were looking at you." He confirm. I laugh. "Oh, I knew it!" He says.

"I'm so...I'm so confused, you know? The afterlife should come with instructions or a quick start guide or something." Alex asks. "Well the good thing is that everyone thought you guys were holograms, and we got back into the program." I say.

I start coming back to the reality of the possibility of losing our best friend. "Why do you two look so bummed?" Reggie asks. "Yeah, dude, you're making this face." Luke says, pulling the other boys to him and they all make ugly pouty faces. Julie and I scoff.

"That is not my face, and things just got weird between me and Flynn. She asked about you guys and I couldn't say." I say. "Sweet, girls are already talking about us." Reggie says and him and Luke low five.

"Stop, she was being serious. We can't tell her about you guys for the same reason we can't tell our dad. She'll think I've gone off the deep end." Julie says. The boys part, making way for a custodian. "Well this guy defiantly thinks you've gone off the deep end." Reggie comments.

He passes by us with a concerned face. "We've got to get back to class." I say, grabbing Julie's arm and dragging her off. I really hope that custodian doesn't tell someone. How embarrassing. I shake it off. Oh well.
