Rachie <3 <3 (Two hearts 'cause you're special)

[ Normal POV ]

Asriel sat idly on the couch of the skeleton brother's house, awaiting the return of his sister.

Upon seeing her brother, Frisk immediately went to join him, feeling a little homesick without his presence. She did love him after all.

As the two siblings reunited again, Sans looked at Papyrus; wondering why he of all people, was in their home.

The taller skeleton understood what his brother was trying to convey through his annoyed stares and silently led him into the kitchen while Frisk and Asriel caught up.

"why is he here?"

"I DON'T KNOW BROTHER. HE JUST INVITED HIMSELF IN! IT'S NOT LIKE I COULD SAY NO!"

Sans grunted in a vexed manor, not at his brother- but at the predator that sat in his living room. Just after he'd made progress with Frisk, he stepped back into the picture.

But he didn't have the right to be jealous of him either. He wasn't hers so those feelings would be meaningless to anyone but him.

. . .

Meanwhile, Asriel had been consulting Frisk about her stay about the skeleton's household.

"They've been taking proper care of you, right?"

"Yeah! Papyrus has made excellent meals and Sans always checks on my condition and gives me medicine!" The girl exclaimed, happy to be in such good company.

Asriel chuckled at his sister's innocence, she was too cute for her own good.

"Glad to hear it." He smiled and placed his furry paw on her head, messing with her hair. Frisk puffed out her cheeks in fake annoyance; he'd been playing with her like that ever since he got a height advantage over her.

"Asriiell~." She groaned, lightly pounding on his chest in frustration.

He laughed at her childish actions and his hand trailed from her head down to her cheek. Frisk tilted her head to the side and gave him a confused look.

"Sorry, sorry. You're so hard not to tease when your angry! Anyway, I actually came here for a reason. I wanted to ask you something."

Just as the sentence left his mouth, Sans and Papyrus came back into the room.

Asriel and Sans glared at each other for a second, unhappy with the presence of each other. But this went unnoticed by Papyrus and Frisk- who didn't even know they had entered the room.

"What is it brother?" The girl asked, leaning into her brother's furry paw; causing a slight blush to grow on his cheeks.

"At my coronation, I want you to come with me."

Frisk was completely oblivious to what his true goal was, so she just giggled at his proposal.

"Silly! I'll be there already."

Asriel let out a sigh, boy she was dense.

"I want you to come with me... As my date, Frisk."

At the sound of his words, light blue flame flickered in Sans' left eye. How would she respond? D-Did she like him?  What would she say? What would he want her to say?

Meanwhile, Frisk's thoughts raced across her mind like crazy. His Date? They were siblings! -kinda. Was this some kind of joke? Did Toriel ask him to do this so she wouldn't be lonely? Was it sympathy? Either way, she knew declining his offer would only create distance between them, she didn't want that.

B-But what about Sans?

She shook off the thought, trying to avoid more that came flooding in. 'No. I can't do this. I've gotta wake up. Why am I being so selfish? I'm wishing for something... That will never happen'. Sans didn't like her and she didn't want to get in his way any longer. Even if it hurt her from the inside out.

It was for the best.

Just as she was about to answer his question, Asriel wrapped his arm around her and squeezed her tightly.

"I won't take no for an answer. I love you after all."

Frisk's eyes went wide, her mind unable to process whatever just happened.

"I'll be here Friday night to pick you up. I look forward to seeing you."

He gave her one final tight hug before standing and walking toward the front door, leaving Frisk in complete confusion.

Sans glared at Asriel with a pained expression. He just smirked back, mouthing the words "Give up, she's mine."

As the door shut, a cold breeze swept throughout the room.

Sans walked over to Frisk who was still lost as to what had just happened.

He put on the fakest smile he had pulled in years and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Frisk looked up to him with shocked expression, wondering how much he heard.

"nice job, kiddo."

Sans turned away from her, the pained expression returning to his face immediately. He clutched onto her shoulder one more time before he removed skeletal hand.

As her friend disappeared up the stairs and into his room, a single tear slid down Frisk's cheek as a suddenly realization hit her like a ton of bricks.

She loved him more than thought.

You are... losing determination.
