( Misty's POV )

"Wake up!" It wasn't Leaf who screamed this time. I looked at the clock. It was midnight. "Wake up and go to the canteen! Now!" I stood up and surched for my shoes. I ran into the living room, even though I was still wearing my pajamas. May and Leaf followed soon after. It took Dawn a whole minute to come out of her room, still sleepy.

"What's wrong?"I asked the teacher that was in our dormitory.

"You'll find out."she said with a sad nod.

"You go on."Dawn said. "I'll catch up later." We nodded and walked to the canteen. The halls were crowded. People were confused since the teachers had woken us up. I saw Ash, Drew and Gary. Paul was nowhere to be seen. Ash had a blue eye and some other injuries. I was getting a little worried.

"You okay?"I asked. Ash nodded, but I noticed him being uncomfortable with me being here. "Did I do something wrong?" Ash shook his head.

"Do you know why we're called here?"May said. She wanted to cut off the conversation I had with Ash. So May knew what had happened to him? "I think there's another murder."

Ash nodded. "How did you get that blue eye?"I asked. Even if they tried to get to another topic, I would find out what was wrong. May and Ash both seemed very uncomfortable to talk about this. Were they together?

"Not now, okay?"Ash said. I glared at him and walked away. I saw how Leaf was walking with Gary. His arm had still not healed, obviously. It reminded me I had to visit Serena tomorrow. Like I promised.

The canteen was crowded. May, Leaf and I couldn't find a table to sit by and leaned against the wall. Drew was the only one to find a place to sit, but he had rejected the offer to sit there. The girl that had offered it looked a little angry. The teacher I had for maths stood on a stage with a microphone.

"Silence!"she screamed. It got immediately silent. "Officer Jenny has found blood and a notebook. No body this time. Though there had laid someone. The notebook gave us some important information about the person that may or may not be dead. Brendan."

Soft murmurs. I looked at May, she was at the point of crying. Brendan had told me exactly what had happened between him and May and I tried to make him feel better. Now the poor guy was or dead or dying. And May was shattered.

"You can go back to your rooms now."

I stood up, but didn't want to go sleep again. May was now crying. I felt bad for her, but didn't really know what to do to make her feel better. I now saw Dawn somewhere in the crowd trying to reach us.

"May!"she yelled and she gave May a hug. "I'm so sorry!" May just shook her head and closed her eyes.

"They haven't found a body,"I said. "Maybe he's still alive." May nodded slowly.

"Thing is,"May said softly. "I don't know if I want him to be alive."

( Brendan's POV )

"Stop moving!"someone snarled at me. I looked up at the girl that was taking care of me. I wasn't dead. How was I not dead? "You've been hurt pretty badly, but the cut in your chest wasn't deep enough to kill you. At least not immediately."

"Who are you?"I asked trying to ignore the sharp pain spreading itself over my body.

"You're welcome."she said annoyed. "My name is Zinnia. Happy?" I glared at the girl. She had black hair tied together in a short ponytail. She was wearing a black t shirt with red on it and a cape that seriously needed some improvements. (I just surched the internet for some ships with Brendan in it, because I felt bad for this guy)

She stood up when she was done with nursing me. I wanted to take a deep breath, but my chest hurt a lot.

"I didn't say it would be painless."Zinnia said as she threw an apple at me. I caught the apple, but I felt a sharp pain in my chest just by moving my arm.

"Are you a doctor, because you don't seem to know that moving my arm hurts." Zinnia glared at me.

"I could've let you die you know."Zinnia snarled. "I usually let people dying on the ground in the corner of a street, actually die. But I decided you were too young."

"How old are you?"I asked. Of all questions in my mind I chose the least important one.

"I'm seventeen."Zinnia answered. I took a bite out of the apple, but stopped immediately. Even eating hurt. Zinnia saw it and picked up a bowl of soup. "I'm sorry to treat you like a baby, but open your mouth." I obeyed. The soup was warm and it actually didn't hurt to eat it.

"Thanks."I said when I was done eating.

"No problem."Zinnia said with a smirk. "I'm sorry you're not at a hospital. I lost my phone and you're kinda heavy, so carrying you took me forever."

"Or you're just not strong enough."I said angrily. Pfft... too heavy. She didn't know what she was talking about. "How far is it till the hospital?"

"Still too far to reach it today."Zinnia said. "A phone is easier to get."

"If you're planning to steal the phone, I would get another idea in that little brain of yours. It's against the law."

"Oh please! I'm not gonna steal the phone, I'm just gonna borrow it."

"It's the same to the police."I said annoyed. I would never break the law. Even if it meant getting in the hospital.

"The police sucks."Zinnia said and she took a knife in her hands. "And you can't do anything to stop me."

I growled. She just gave me a triumphant look and walked away with a grace I had never seen before. Who was Zinnia? And why did she help me? I let out a deep breath and ignored the upcoming pain in my chest. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

( May's POV )

I walked through the streets with officer Jenny walking beside me. Her heels echoed through the deserted streets. We hadn't said a word to each other and officer Jenny's face didn't show any emotion. I had asked her to bring me to the place where they found Brendan. She had complained, but finally gave up. Now I was gonna find out what had happened to my idiotic friend. Even when I was still mad at him.

"We're here."Jenny said. I looked to the dead end of the street. There was blood on the ground, blood they could never wash of. There were a few trash cans that looked like they weren't used for years. I let out my Beautifly.

"Beautifly!"it exclaimed.

"Beautifly can you..."I yelled, but officer Jenny cut me off.

"We already tried to find him or the killer with an Arcanine. It is unlikely a Beautifly will have more success then our trained Arcanine." I looked at the ground. There had to be something. I nodded.

"Beautifly, return."I said soft and Beautifly went back into its pokéball. "What information do you have on him? Please, let me help."

Officer Jenny let out a sigh. "What choice do I have?"she said. "We only found a note book and the blood. We found out the blood was Brendan's with a DNA-test. The book only showed a few sketches and one short text. He wrote in it about the murders, trying to find the pattern."

"What did he write?"I asked. Officer Jenny gave me the notebook. I looked through some sketches of pokémon. Then I saw some sketches of the targets from the killer. Leaf, Barry, and Timmy. The next page he had written a short text.

Barry and Timmy are dead. They tried to kill Leaf. Timmy's dead was probably meant as a warning to the student there. Barry's dead had no purpose. Leaf isn't dead, but they sure tried to kill her. Why didn't they do that when they kidnapped her? She must've had something they needed. Why did they later tried to kill her anyway? Gary told me Leaf knew who had kidnapped her. She didn't remember after the injection they hit her with. They don't want us to find them. But they're after students. My theory. Timmy's dead isn't linked with the others.

How many more have to die until we've got the lesson? -Brendan

I never knew Leaf was this close to revealing the killer. I didn't even knew Brendan was close to finding the pattern. And what had I done this week? I had cried and was scared. Ash had kissed me and it would probably ruin Ash's life. And since Misty was an open book also her life. And Brendan's life and... I had to do something. Make myself useful.

"How can I help?"I asked officer Jenny.

"Watch out and make sure you won't get killed."she said.

"How can I really help?" Officer Jenny sighed. She had to take my help. She just had to! I looked at her, waiting for an answer. Officer Jenny nodded then and finally looked me in the eyes. I held my breath and prepared for what she was going to say.

"Do you think you can find out where your friend is?" I nodded slowly.

"I think I can." I walked out of the street. Walking turned into running and I called out my Beautifly. "Beautifly we're looking for Brendan! You remember him, right?"

"Fly!" Beautifly flew the other way to look for Brendan. I ran through a market. I looked at the ground for just a few seconds, so I could run faster. I shouldn't have done that. I bumped into someone and fell hard on the ground. It only hurt more because of the speed I had used when I bumped into the person.

"I'm so sorry!"I said as I stood up. I offered some help to the girl laying on the ground, but she refused. She stood up and gave me a mysterious look.

"Never mind."she said and she wanted to run further.

"Wait!"I yelled at her, but she didn't wait. I ran after the girl, I didn't really know why. The girl ran incredibly fast and I could lose her anytime soon. Then I saw a wall. "Hold it!"

"Stop following me!"the girl yelled and she used the uneven spots in the wall to climb the wall.

"I just want to ask you something!"I yelled. The girl didn't stop climbing and she almost fell. "Stop, you're falling!" But it was too late the girl lost her grip on the wall and fell. Someone at the market called out his Pidgeot that caught the falling girl. When she was on the ground she let out a sigh. I walked towards her. "I won't hurt you."

"What do you want?"the girl asked angrily. "I don't have the time for a long chat, so make it quick." I nodded.

"I'm looking for my friend."I explained. "The police found his notebook and his blood, but his body wasn't anywhere. I believe he's still alive. His name is Brendan. Have you seen him?"

"Where you following me for someone no one has seen!"the girl screamed. "Can I borrow your phone?" I shook my head.

"My phone has been taken. Why?"

"I need to call the hospital and don't have the money to buy a phone." The girl let out a sigh. "Yes. I have seen Brendan. Helped him, actually. But Arceus, he's heavy! And now he's also awake. It will take me ages to reach the hospital!"

"No."I said and I chuckled. Brendan was alive. "No it won't." I ran to the street where Brendan was found. Officer Jenny was just leaving. "Jenny! Jenny!"I screamed. The girl that had helped Brendan followed me. "I know where he is."

Jenny frowned at me. "Tell me."

"He's at my house. I'm sorry, but there was no one to talk to and I didn't have a phone. He's alright, but I need the help of a hospital."the girl said. Officer Jenny smiled.

"Get me there." We ran after the girl to her home. It was little and I couldn't exactly call it a home, but she had already told me she didn't have much money. Brendan was sleeping on the ground.

"Brendan!"I yelled and I ran to him. I hated him just a day ago, but now I was just worried. He was my friend, nothing more, but he was my friend. Brendan opened his eyes and seemed a little shocked seeing me and officer Jenny. Jenny took her phone in her hand.

"We have found Brendan and need an ambulance right away."she said. She said an address. When she put her phone away she smiled at us. "There's an ambulance on their way here." We yelled happily. Brendan smiled.

"May, what are you doing here?"he then asked. I gave him a weak smile.

"You're still my friend you know."I said. "Even if you're an arrogant, selfish idiot." Brendan smiled.

"Thanks for the compliment." I chuckled. I walked to the girl who was now sitting on the outside of her "house".

"Hi."I said she looked up and gave me a goofy smile. "Everything okay?" The girl nodded. "Thanks for saving him. He's my childhood friend and lately there have been a little too much dead bodies."

"Of course."she said. "He's too young to die anyway."

"You don't seem happy."

"I'm happy, don't worry!"the girl said.

"I'm rooting for you and Brendan."I said smirking. It was just a few seconds, but I swore I saw the girl blush.

"Don't be ridiculous!"she said. And she surched for something to whack me with. She found a teddy bear and threw it at me. I chuckled as the toy hit me.

"Brendan and..."I realized I didn't knew her name. "Eh... what's your name?"

"And that's my cue to leave."the girl said.

"Oh you're not getting away that easily!"I said and I jumped up.

"I'm faster than you."

"I know someone that's surely faster than you."I said grinning.

"My name's Zinnia."the girl said and she ran away before I could make fun of her and Brendan. I ran after her as fast as I could, but obviously Zinnia was faster. Soon after the ambulance arrived and Zinnia, officer Jenny and I went along to the hospital.

"You've taken good care of the boy."nurse Joy said. "He's going to be fine. Though there will stay a scar as a reminder of what happened. He says he can't remember the person that attacked him. Only that he knew her."

"Her?"I asked. Nurse Joy nodded. I looked at Zinnia. I didn't want to believe it was her. It couldn't be her. Though she was now suspect number one.

"I know what you think, but it's not me."Zinnia said to me.

"It's the judge that will decide if you're telling us the truth."officer Jenny said.

"Wait..."I started. But I couldn't find any argument that told me it wasn't Zinnia. "Why would she help Brendan if she's the killer?"

"To show her innocence."

"That worked very well then."I said sarcastically. It wasn't Zinnia, I was sure. I just didn't know how to help her out of this.

"It's okay."Zinnia said. "Who would believe me anyway. I'm a poor girl that lives in a dangerous street. Maybe I'm not the killer, but I've done lots of other things that led me to this moment. I guess prison is where I belong."

"No."I said softly, but officer Jenny took Zinnia. Nurse Joy held me back and I was forced to sit down and wait until nurse Joy brought me back to school. The day was almost over. I had wasted my weekend. I hadn't even made any homework. Well, how could they blame me. They woke me up in the middle of the night for Arceus' sake! I hadn't even bothered to go visit Serena or Brendan. I was furious when I laid in my bed. I would get Zinnia out. I just needed to find a way to do that.

What did you think? It was kinda hard writing this chapter. I didn't have any inspiration. But lucky for me my fairy god-sister came by and gave me the inspiration I needed for this chapter. It still stinks though. Sorry. But thank you for reading it anyway! I feel like my chapters are getting crappier the more I write and I'm sorry. I try to get better soon! If you have any ideas of how I can improve my writing skills, please do tell!
