Day: I guess, maybe, this is the last chapter that it'll be Thursday. Since I made last chapter kinda long. Well, for me. We'll see...

( Red's POV ) ( I'm going back in time a little, to before officer Jenny and Dawn had arrived. )

Even with all the chaos, it came down to Gary, Misty, Sky and whoever was shooting hidden. I laid the end of my gun on the short wall. I sat on only one knee, as I was taught. Sharpshooting had to be silent, but the guns I could get weren't silent. Not that that mattered. There were only two known guns in the game. Nobody would suspect this shot would be against Sky. Screams, cries, gunshots. This place was filled with sounds, though the only thing I concentrated on was shooting.

Sky threw Gary on the ground. He hit his, already hurt, back, and had enough bad luck to still be awake. My eyes went to Sky who stood up, and walked to Misty. What kind of idiotic assassin did she think she was? She was closer to an embarrassment. So I pointed the end of my gun at the black haired girl. I took a deep breath, and pulled the trigger.

The bullet flew through the air, hitting Sky's leg. Not a very good shot, so I prepared to take another. Misty turned around. She looked so little from up here. She seemed to take a small step back by seeing Sky on the ground, grabbing her leg. That armor of her didn't seem to be doing its job very well. I aimed again, now that Misty was still away from Sky. The bullet hit Sky's shoulder, and I cursed quietly. I was too far away to do a better effort on killing her.

A motor came on the terrain. A woman stepped off of it, holding a gun. Her greenish hair and blue uniform even clear between the trees. I had been lucky it was on the border of the Vien Forest, not deep into it. That's the only reason why I could hide on the rooftop.

Nobody paid attention to Leaf, who finally got the knife and ran. Everybody's attention was focused on the motor and who was on it. My eyes widened. I came here for Leaf's sake, I wasn't gonna let her die. I ran down, forgetting my weapons. I had nothing to defend myself with. I ran downstairs, ignoring the elevator. That would slow me down anyway. When I got outside I ran behind the building to where Leaf was, hearing officer Jenny's voice.

"Come out!" I didn't care much about officer Jenny and the rubbish dump they called the Almia police department. I ran to where Leaf was. I could see her, just before she was forced to stop. A man jumped out of a tree, blocking Leaf's path. Leaf took a few steps back, tripping over her own feet. Her eyes were focused on the man, scared. I ran to the man, attacking him from behind. He turned around. Wrong. This was the wrong guy to attack. But I didn't know how else I could protect Leaf. The man threw me on the ground. I heard something inside me break, but I tried to get up, without success. The man came to me and punched me in the face. My underlip and nose started bleeding. Another punch, and I could swear that was gonna leave a mark.

"Red?"Drew asked, the only one not out of breath. I took one second to look at Drew, officer Jenny and Dawn, before another punch came at me. I rolled over, dodging the punch after that, but my face was already swollen, and just by rolling over I realized how much pain I had in my ribs.

The man came over to me, to punch me again when officer Jenny pointed her gun at him. "Hands in the air, or I'll shoot."she demanded. The man turned around, his hands up in the air. Officer Jenny walked to him, trying to get handcuffs on him. But the moment that she didn't pay attention he kicked her with the back of his head, his hands still free. He pushed her aside running away. There was no one I knew that could match that speed, or that strength. Officer Jenny ran away, returning with a motor soon after. But the man had a headstart, and with that speed, I doubted a motor could find him. But she left after the man.

I wanted to run to Leaf, but I couldn't move with the pain in my ribs. So instead, Leaf came to me. "Red, are you alright?!"she screamed. I wanted to nod, but I couldn't move without having pain. Drew helped Dawn with walking to the others. But Leaf couldn't carry me, certainly not when I was so hurt I couldn't even move. So we stayed here, waiting for officer Jenny to return.

Which she did, eventually. But without the man.

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't find him anymore."officer Jenny sighed, and she knelt down to examine my wound. "I'll call nurse Joy, she'll be able to bring you to the hospital."

"What about Derek?"Leaf asked. Who in hell was Derek?

"I don't know who Derek is, and you'll be coming with me."officer Jenny said on a much sharper tone. She took out her phone. "Joy, we've got some other patients for you. They're hurt pretty badly and are right now at the border of the Vien Forest. Can you get there in time?" Silence fell, though officer Jenny made some agreeing sounds. "Yes, then I'll see you here." A few seconds gone by before officer Jenny added, "Thank you. See you soon." Then she hung up and nodded at me.

"Officer, the others are still back there, not to mention Sky."Leaf said worriedly. Officer Jenny picked me up.

"Don't worry, we'll get her in prison for this."officer Jenny said. "I don't care how old she is." She carried me to the rest, and it was the most painful thing I had ever done. Leaf immediately ran to Gary.

"Are you okay?"she asked worriedly. Gary grinned, and pulled her face closer to his until their lips met. I wanted to look away, but right now it hurt even to move my neck. Officer Jenny laid me down against a tree and walked to Sky to put on handcuffs. Her leg was drenched with blood, and her shoulder was also still bleeding. That were probably some injuries even officer Jenny couldn't ignore. She was forced to bring Sky to a healer.

( Misty's POV ) ( again a little back in time. )

Drew, Dawn and officer Jenny ran away, after where they heard the gunshots from. The moment they were out of sight, I fell on my knees. It hurt even more like this, but I couldn't move and change my position. So I lay on the ground, in the woods. My hair and clothes were already filthy, and wet from my blood, so it didn't matter if I worsened it.

I saw someone getting up and prayed it wasn't Sky, but that person walked to me, which meant it was most likely Sky.

But it wasn't. It was Ash. He sat down beside me, looking at my wounds in silence.

"Ash?"I whispered, questioning the reality of this. Gary was lying on the ground, more hurt than I was. If I was Ash, I would go to my best friend instead of my ex girlfriend. Ash stayed silent, taking out a first aid kit. "Where the hell did you get that?"I asked annoyed.

"Do you really think I'm going to a forest where I could die and not taking bandages with me?"he asked me annoyed. "Wow, I knew your vision of me wasn't that good, but I'm not that stupid." I smiled.

"I'm fine."I reassured Ash. "Now go help May and Gary, they're having it worse." Ash didn't move away from me, and he took of my shoe. The bullet hadn't gone deep, but it bleeded like hell. Ash sighed and closed his eyes. He took out an ice pack and laid it on my wound. How did he know what to do? Then he took out some whiskey from Arceus knew where. He poured some over the wound.

"This might hurt."Ash said. And then he took out a knife, carefully prying out the bullet. It hurt so incredibly much, and I almost screamed. But I held it in, and looked at Ash's calm face as a last resort. After half a minute of prying with the knife, Ash got out a metal bullet. His hands were bloody from holding my foot while taking it out. But he remained calm and steady. Then he got out a lighter and warmed up the blade until it looked red, and he applied it to the wound, searing it shut. I saw Drew and Dawn come on the open field, but they immediately went to May.

"Aah! Hot!"I squeaked, but it soon felt a bit better. I was a bit taken away by Ash's determination.  After a while he got out a bandage and tied it around my foot.

"This'll do it, for now."Ash said coldy. "As soon as you get the chance you should go to a hospital. I hope it didn't hurt too much." It hurt more than anything I had ever imagined, but I just nodded. "You were lucky Sky had some blades with her. Otherwise this would've probably gone wrong in many different ways."

"How did you know what to do?"I asked.

"I just paid attention to nurse Joy's classes."Ash replied casually. "She once told us what to do when dealing with a bullet in you." I couldn't remember any class like that, but I was happy Ash did. I had honestly never seen him paying attention in any class. How was this class any different?

"Oh."I said. "What about May? Can you help her?"

"The bullet is too deep."Ash said. "If I try to get it out, I'll most likely kill her. Not to mention where the bullet came is a little more dangerous than where yours was. The best thing to do is wait for officer Jenny to return." I had never known Ash had this much knowledge about things like this. I always thought the only thing he had knowledge about were pokémon battles. I had never taken the time to truly get to know Ash.

"You know, you were right."I said suddenly. Ash looked up. "I was taking Serena's side, not because I agreed with Serena, but because I was afraid that if I didn't, I would lose her. I didn't realize I could lose you by doing that. Maybe Sky is right, and I do deserve to die. It's not like I've done anything good in the time I've been alive. But I want to be able to make up for that. I want to be able to do some good in my life. And I could start with acknowledging I was wrong about you. I dated you because I liked that cute, dense idiot. But you weren't dense, or an idiot. I should've respected you before, so I will respect you now, Ash Ketchum."

Ash smiled. "You don't have to apologize, Misty."he said sweetly. "You were right about me in some way. But I might not be a guy that looks smart, but if I do my best, I can be the best."

Then he stood up, smiling. "Ash,"I said, and I grabbed his arm. "Please stay. At least until officer Jenny is back." Poor Gary was gonna pay the price of my selfishness. But now that I saw a part of the real Ash, the one I hadn't met that one time in the principal's office. I wanted to see the whole thing. I wanted to learn about him. I wanted to get to know him. Maybe then, Ash and I could have a lasting relationship.

"Sure."Ash said, and he sat down beside me. "Is there something you want to talk about?"

I smiled as I said, "Yes, there is. Could you tell me more about yourself?" Ash gave me a questionable look, but obeyed. And he stayed with me, talking about himself until officer Jenny came back. Then he helped her, leaving me alone.

________________________________________________________________________________

Slowly, Thursday night (in the pokémon world) is ending. And it's not even half as long as that one day that wasn't even necessary for the story. Oh well...

Ah, how I loved writing how Ash was a normal guy, someone another could actually fall in love with. That felt great.

By the way, I'll be in Venice from today until Sunday, so don't expect me to be on a lot.
