"Hahaha! Sans, no!" The blanket covered skeleton chuckled as he hugged me and tickled my sides. "sans? who's sans? i'm the terrifying blanket creature! roar!" I burst into giggles and squirmed around as I tried to get out of my brother's grip. "Well I know your secret weakness!" He gasped playfully. "my secret weakness? nobody knows that except only the greatest of the great!" I crossed my arms proudly. "Luckily I'm the Great Papyrus! So I know your weakness is hugs from a cool guy!" I hugged him tightly, and he started making fake choking sounds. "noooo! the great papyrus was too great!" He flopped onto his back. "bleh."

I snorted at that, then did a heroic pose. "I've defeated the blanket creature! Nyeh heh!" Oh jeez, did I actually do that silly laugh? I didn't hate the laugh, it's just other kids thought it sounded funny and laughed about it. Most were nice, but some... I realized Sans hasn't moved yet. "Ok Sans, you can get up now!" He didn't move. "Saaans! Get uuuup!" Nothing. He wasn't breathing. I shoved him lightly, then began panicking. "Sans?! Oh no oh no oh no..." I didn't mean to do that! If he was gone, I don't know what I'd do-

"haha! the blanket creature returns!" I felt my soul skip a beat as I looked back over at him. He was chuckling to himself. How dare he! I crossed my arms, angrily letting out a huff. "Don't do that! You had me worried!" He tilted his head slightly. "oh, come on pap. don't be like that. look, i'm fine! see?" He pulled the blanket off his head, warmly grinning. "You won't be when I'm done with ya!" I leaped towards him, catching him off guard as he flailed. We rolled along the floor, both laughing.

When we took a break from rolling, Sans looked over at me. "i didn't mean to scare you. it was supposed to be a joke, and i'm sorry." I smiled some at the apology. "It's ok, brother! I forgive you!" He smiled and hugged me, saying I was one cool dude. Dad walked inside, empty coffee mug in his hands. He took a moment to smile at the both of us, then suddenly looked serious as his gaze fell on Sans.

"Sans, I hate to pull you away from your brother, but I need your help with some things." Despite the serious expression, his hands fidgeted nervously and sometimes signed stuff. Again, I couldn't tell what he was signing from the angle I was sitting at. Sans's grin started to vanish. I didn't like this atmosphere, it wasn't happy and fun like it should be. "right. i'll be right there." Dad nodded before heading back out. Sans stood, brushed off his clothes, then started heading to the door.

I quickly stopped him. "Sans, don't leave! We were having fun!" He frowned, then patted my shoulder. "sorry pap... i gotta go do this. i promise i'll play with you later though." I didn't even realize it, but I started twirling the end of my scarf. I wanted to see his answer. "What are you and Dad doing? Why do you have to go outside to do it? Why can't I come?" He stayed silent a few moments. "don't worry about it bro. it's not important." Not important? Dad said it was important though! Before I could say another word, Sans slipped out the door. I sighed sadly. What's going on? Why can't I know?

I wanted to know, and I was gonna find out.
