*FOUR WEEKS LATER*

        Fang woke up. Time to go to school! He thought. Fang looked around. This isn't my dog bed. Fang thought. Then he remembered that he was in the hospital after four whole weeks! But today, Fang could try walking around. Finally! Fang thought. He had been laying in the same old bed in the same old position staring at the same old hospital room. Boring! But today, Fang could actually try to walk again! After jumping out of the school window, the nurses had said that Fang had broken one of his legs and wrenched the other. Apparently he had fallen into a tree, and then fallen onto a rock. 

        Fang's regular nurse, Julia, walked in. Fang then raised his head (his head and neck didn't hurt anymore.)

        "I can see someone's feeling better," Julia said. "Are you ready to try walking again?"

        "I sure am!" Fang exclaimed.

        "Okay. First, just try to stand up" Julia said to Fang.

        Fang stood up slowly. It felt weird to be standing again. His legs were all wobbly, but Fang stood up straight, trying to look confident.

        "Good job Fang." Julia said with a chuckle. "Now, slowly try to get out of the bed."

        Fang braced himself and looked at the ground. His bed wasn't too high up. Only about a foot. But Fang got got this uneasy feeling when he looked down, and a flashback formed in his mind of when he jumped out of the school building. Fang shook his mind to clear the thought. He shouldn't worry.He bunched his muscles, and slowly climbed down his bed.

        "You're doing good." Julia said. "Now, if your legs are fine, then you can walk around the hospital and visit your friends."

        Fang couldn't believe it. He was finally going to see Pumpkin and Bella! Fang nodded and walked out of the open door. The hallway was deserted. He decided to visit the door to his left first. Fang looked at the files and saw that his first friend that he was visiting, was Pumpkin. He took a deep breath, and scratched the door. "Come in." Pumpkin called weakly from inside. There was a dog door connected to the door, so it was easy for Fang to get in.

        When Fang entered the room, Pumpkin lifted his head. "Fang!" Pumpkin exclaimed. "I thought I would never see you again! Are you okay? You must be if you're here to visit me!"

        "I'm going to be okay." Fang told Pumpkin. "I thought you were going to die. You didn't exactly look to well before we came out of the school."

        "Well the doctors said that i had inhaled a lot of smoke. I had to drink a whole bunch of water before I could get my strength back." Pumpkin told Fang. "Two days ago I came to visit you, but you didn't look too good yourself. You kept whimpering in your sleep."

        Fang nodded, thinking about how he kept having nightmares about the fire. "Hey." Fang began. "If you're feeling well enough, do you want to go see Bella? I haven't seen her yet.

         "Of course!" Pumpkin exclaimed. "I wanted to see her after I came to see you, but the doctors said that I had to rest some more so I haven't seen her since the fire yet either."

        Fang and Pumpkin walked out Pumpkin's dog door and Fang turned to Pumpkin to point to Bella's door. "My nurse told me that you and Bella were on either side of me." Fang told Pumpkin. "That means that if you were in that room, Fang pointed to Pumpkin's door, then Bella must be through that door." Fang said pointing to the door on the other side of his own. "Let's go, but quietly."

        Fang followed Pumpkin through the dog door quietly. Then Fang quietly called out. "Bella?"

        "Yes?" Bella said weakly. She sat up, and when she saw her friends, she looked so relieved. "Pumpkin! Fang!" Bella exclaimed. "I thought you guys were goners!" Her tail waved wildly as she stood up.

        "Your okay too!" Pumpkin and Fang said in unison. "Are you fully healed?" Fang asked. "I missed you!" Pumpkin said at the same time.

        "I'm fine." Bella replied with a smile. "I wanted to come see you guys, but the doctors said to wait one more day. You don't know how happy I am to see that you're both okay!"

        "Do you guys want to go see what's left of the school?" Pumpkin asked them. "My doctor said that there was a lot of damage, but if we're careful then we can go check it out."

        "Well then let's go check out the school." Fang said.

        The three friends walked out of the dog door. Fang and Pumpkin didn't know how to get to the front desk, but Bella told them that she was awake the whole time when the doctors took her to her room so she lead the way with the boys following.

        Fang couldn't keep track of how many turns they took after the elevator. It was a maze in there! But finally, Bella turned a corner, and directly in front of them, was the front desk and the door to outside.

        Fang, Pumpkin, and Bella told the person at the front where they were going, and that the doctors said that they were fully healed. Then they just signed out and made their way to the school. But what they saw there, was nothing like they expected.
