Fang's mouth gaped at what they saw when they got to the school. He thought that most of it would be cleaned up by now. But it looked like the people cleaning up had just started. Everything was in a huge pile! Whether it was all ash, or just charred, the school wasn't a school anymore.

  Fang looked at his friends. They both had the same shocked expressions that he did. Neither of them had expected the school to look this bad. Obviously though, the school would take a while to repair. Fang and his friends would have to find a new school to go to. Or just be home schooled.

  Fang saw a body or two in the pile of the building. Those dogs and/or people didn't make it. Fang was glad that he and his friends had made it though.

  He thought back to the first day of school. Fang could never had guessed that he would make such good friends at this school. Before this school, Fang only had Violet and her mom. But because he went to this school, Fang had made two new friends, and one enemy, but that was better than what he had before. And he didn't just become a friend to some dogs, he also became a hero.

  "Let's go back to my house" Fang said to Pumpkin and Bella. "I bet Violet and her mom would like to see that we're okay. and then maybe you two could have a sleepover."

  "Great idea!" Pumpkin exclaimed. "Let's go!"

  Fang and Bella glanced at each other as they tried to hide their laughter. After everything that had happened, Pumpkin sure hadn't lost his energy, or his humor! Fang was lucky to have such great friends. He looked back at the school one more time, before following in beside Bella and Pumpkin, as they all headed home.
