As they walked through the halls, Fang saw and smelled so many dogs! They were all going to their classes. Some were excited and some were sad. Some were nervous and some were confident. But Fang was curious. He had never even heard of a therapy dog until today. He was also excited. He couldn't wait to start training!

        As Fang and Violet entered the room, Fang couldn't believe his eyes. He saw many signs that he couldn't read. One other thing that he noticed was that on one of the counters was a bucket of treats! Fang saw many different things in the room including a see-through door that led outside. But what he didn't see, were any dogs.

        "We must be the first ones here," Violet told him. "Let's go sit on the carpet while we wait for everyone else."

        As Fang followed Violet to the carpet, he spotted some bowls of food and water just outside the see-through door. When Fang started to walk toward the door, Violet said, "Not now Fang. Let's wait until the other dogs get here." Fang Whined. "Alright," Violet sighed. "I guess you can have a few bites of food and a sip of water. Besides, you haven't eaten since we left."

        As soon as Violet opened the door, Fang rushed over to the bowls. "This one is yours Fang," Violet called to him. "It has your name on it." When Fang looked around, he saw many bowls. He noticed that they each had words on them.

        Fang gulped down a few bites of food and a few sips of water. Then he walked toward the open door.

        When he walked inside, he noticed that some other dogs were in the room too. There were many different kinds of dogs in Fang's class. One was a tiny Pomeranian. That's when he saw her. A fancy, spoiled poodle. So it wasn't a surprise when she stopped to gloat.

        "Hey, you beginners. You better not mess up my place here in this school. Because I'm the boss around here," she growled.

        "You can't boss us around!" barked Fang.

        "I can't can I?" she soothed. "The name's Princess. And as I've said to the other beginner classes, this is my school."

        When she walked passed, Fang still felt tense. No one would bully him! Fang would not stop until Princess stopped bullying other dogs, and bossing them around! When fang turned around, he saw that the dogs seemed amazed.

        "Wow, you sure did stand up to Princess!"

        "How did you do it?"

        "You sure will be famous around the school!"

        Fang grinned shyly. "I just told her that she isn't the boss," Fang told the dogs. "The only bosses in this school are the teachers, not Princess. Even if she thinks she is."

        Right as Fang said that, a lady walked in. She had brown hair and brown eyes. "Hey, everybody! My name is Kati. I am your teacher," she announced. She walked to the open door. "Who left the door open?" she asked.

        "Sorry, that was me. Fang needed something to eat and drink," Violet told Kati.

        "That's okay. Just make sure to close it next time. We don't want the dogs getting loose," Kati said. "If they did, then we would have to go after them and bring them back here."

        Fang thought about running away. He thought it would be lonely without Violet. Fang didn't know why some dogs would even want to run away. Weren't they happy to have an owner? So Fang didn't run through the door. Instead he went over to meet some of the other dogs.

        "Hi! I'm pumpkin!" one of the small dogs said rapidly. "This is one of the new beginner rooms. I can't believe we got on of the new ones! They made a few new rooms in the school over the summer! What is your name?"

        Pumpkin could talk really fast! Fang wondered if all of the dogs here talked really fast. "My name is Fang," Fang told Pumpkin.

        As one of the other dogs was about to introduce themselves, Kati made an announcement. "Everyone, please come to the carpet so we can introduce ourselves."

        At once, everyone got up and walked over to the carpet including Fang. He couldn't wait to meet everyone!
