Farah pov
I instantly opened my eyes out of fright, with my body shivering, heart beating up to it's maximum power and huge sweat droplets sliding down my temples. Ahmer, who was seated beside me in the aircraft noticed my condition and without delay turned towards me.

"Farah, are you alright?" he asked me with concern.
"Yeah, I am okay. Just a bad dream." I replied embarrassingly still trying to overcome my shivering.
"Water?" he forwarded me a glass of water.
"Sure." I said I took it from him and gulped it in one sip.

"How long it's been since take off?" I asked him as my condition improved while looking through the window curiously.
"Half an hour." he told me as I turned to him.

Time: 8 am

A lady dressed in navy blue pants with a white full sleeved chiffon shirt nicely accessorised with a dyed scarf neatly draped around her neck with it's both ends dangling at the front. She entered the building named as 'police headquarters Islamabad'.
Her black sandals voiced softly as she confidently walked herself to the cabin and stopped just in front of a police officer.

"Good morning." she greeted the officer in the cabin. He, who was busy checking out a file turned to her, observing her from head to toe.
"Farah Malik, the criminlogist." he said as he saw her ID card hanging around her neck.
"We were expecting you. I am senior Inspecter Fiaq." he introduced himself to her.
"Nice to meet you sir." she replied.
"You are supposed to assist Inspector Rehan in his case," he told while gesturing her to follow him and he started to walk.

"Inspector Rehan is currently working on a case of a psychopath murderer." he continued as they walked around the busy corridors and through different doors.
"The series of murders that took place few months back." Farah added.
"Exactly." Inspector Fiaq replied as he opened another the door, to the conference hall.

It was a huge room with a long table in the middle, it was surrounded by few computers, book racks, projectors, files etc. In the right corner of the room a man of approx age, sixty of average physique and visibly good height was standing by the window reading a file accompanied with another man and a lady in uniform.

"Sir Rehan, this is Farah Malik. The criminlogist." he introduced her to them but Inspector Rehan was kind of astounded to see her.
"I am Hashir, the psychologist. She is Inspector Naima and that is Inspector Rehan." Hashir moved forward and gave their introduction.
"You are supposed to officially join tomorrow eight am." Inspector Rehan told her trying his best to keep the conversation formal or to hide his awkwardness.

"Sure sir." she replied as Hashir left the room with Inspector Fiaq.
"Naima make sure she gets all the case details." Rehan ordered her, and she left with Farah leaving Inspector Rehan alone in the room.

Inspector Rehan started to roam around the room anxiously with his arms folded to his chest. Then he stopped moving and took out his phone from his pocket. He dialed a number.
"Hello," Rehan greeted on call.
"I need you to find me some information about the new criminologist, Farah Malik. Family history, education everything." he continued.
"Ok sir." the man on the phone replied and he hanged up plainly.

As he, dressed in grey pants and lining shirt with shiny black shoes, entered the place, he checked his watch and acknowledged that he is among the very first few employs to arrive today.

Feeling proud about it, he walked himself to his desk with a delighted expression on his perfectly shaved face. He sat on his office chair right in front of his desk and stretched his both hands above his head, he yawned. He was looking around his desk to pointed out his pending files to be done, he frowned.

He moved his chair towards his desk and was about to pick up the first blue file, just then his phone vibrated and he picked his phone while relaxing on his chair, again.

It had been about half an hour since then Ahmer was sitting in a restaurant with bright and elegant interiors with impressive decor in addition to which it had amazing food. He had been waiting for her from half an hour, with his stomach grumbling out of hunger and mouth watering with aroma of the food being served around the place.

Out of boredom Ahmer tried to engage himself by looking around admiring the restaurant while playing with the cutlery placed on the table.

An annoyed yet angry expression appeared on his plain face when he saw a known face running towards him looking completely baffled and unorganized.

"I am so sorry, I am late." Farah apologised as she took her seat opposite to Ahmer.
"Finee." Ahmer replied playfully and then presented her a square shaped wrapped box.
"Ah is it for me?" She asked enthusiastically.
"Yes. Congratulations." Ahmer wished her smiling.

She took it from his hand and started unwrapping it just like a six year old would do! She opened it to unveil a pack of her favorite chocolates and an adorable smile emerged on her face.

"Thankyou." she said to him.
"Welcoommmeeee." he replied while trying to catch a chocolate Farah just threw at him. He finally managed to catch it.

After both of them finished eating the chocolates, both of them noticed the menu placed on the table. They looked at each other and in less than thirty seconds both of them grabbed it childishly shouting
"My turn."

"Yesterday brought the beginning, tomorrow brings the end, but somewhere in the middle we've become best of friends."

Time: 10 pm

Inspector Rehan, with messed up hair, tired red eyes and a loose black tie circled around his neck was seated in his cabin, reading some files regarding his current case. He was completely drowned in his work when he heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." he replied inattentively and in came a uniformed man.
"Sir as you said, I fished out information about Farah Malik." he told him.
Rehan turned his head up and said
"Hmm, what is it?" still reading through the files.
"Sir, Farah Malik lived in Karachi, six years back her family shifted to Islamabad. She is daughter of Mahreen Malik, a writer and Saad Malik, a former police officer, died fourteen years back. She has a twin sister Seher..." As he heard his words he closed the file and interrupted him
"That's enough," he said.
"You can leave now." he told him and he obediently left the room.

He stood up from his chair, and pulled out his phone from his blazer pocket, placed on the back of his chair.
He dialled a number and waited impatiently for the the recipient to receive the call.
"Hello, we found her." he announced cheerfully on the call.
