The trio and Robyn made their way down to Hagrid's hut for their first lesson with him. The buzz of what had just happened in Professor Trelawney's class hadn't died down and was the hot new talk in the castle. It was also the conversational topic for the boy who was cursed with the Grim as they trudged down to Hagrid's. They were excited but their minds still warned them of Harry's danger.

"Death omens. Honestly. If you ask me, Divination's a very wooly discipline. Now Ancient Runes. That's a fascinating subject." Hermione tried to lighten the mood and it seemed to be working, by the look of contentment on Harry's face.

"Ancient Runes? Exactly how many classes are you taking this term?" Ron asked accusingly.

At times like this, Robyn was so glad she had friends. It made her feel so much happier. Robyn let out a laugh at Hermione and Ron, feeling content with life but yet the thought of the Grim kept entering her mind, putting her on edge.

"A fair few." Hermione shrugged.

"Hang on. Ancient Runes is the same time as Divination. You'd have to be in two classes at once." Ron inputted, his voice held confusion. Robyn thought he was right for a minute but the thought of Hermione being in two classes at once told her it must have been a mix up.

"Don't be silly. How could anyone be in two classes at once?" The tone in Hermione's voice told Robyn that this wasn't the end of it. It was almost sarcastic. It made Robyn grin at the look of utter confusion and curiosity on Ron's face.

"Broaden your minds..." Hermione laughed, making fun of Trelawney, causing Robyn to crack a smile. But she also saw Harry smile aswell, lifting her mood even more.

They carried on their adventure to Hagrid's hut, laughing and joking. Robyn was getting more and more confident around them and it made her happy. She was finally happy.

Students gathered around Hagrid and his hut. Some were happy to see Hagrid finally teaching but others were not so happy about the ordeal and did their best to make Hagrid's life a misery. And they were the Slytherin's.

"C'mon now, get a move on! Got a real treat for yeh. Great lesson comin' up. Follow me." Robyn found a grin appearing on her face as she followed the rest of the class to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

In the day, the Forbidden Forest looked harmless, beautiful even but it was a different picture at night. Eerie mist filled the place, giving anyone chills. The trees cast shadows but it wasn't the nature that made it scary, it was the creature's that lurked inside that put everyone on edge.

Hagrid led Robyn and the class towards a small paddock just by the side of the Forbidden Forest. In the paddock, a freestanding iron rack hangs with dead ferrets, buzzing with flies. Nearby was a pumpkin patch.

"Gather 'round. Find yerself a spot. That's it. Now, firs' thing yeh'll want ter do is open yer books-" Hagrid said cheerfully, not even faltered by the snobby voice of Draco Malfoy.

"And exactly how do we do that?" Draco spat, looking at Hagrid in disgust. Draco had never been kind to Hagrid, always trying to get him fired.

"Crikey. Didn' yeh know? All yeh've got ter do is stroke 'em. Look --" Hagrid exclaimed, looking at the class in shock before taking Hermione's book and showing them all what to do. The book immediately fell still and let out a noise almost like a purr of pleasure. Hagrid then proceeded to open the book, showing everyone. He then passed it back to Hermione while the rest were left to deal with theirs on their own.

Robyn took her book and peered at it curiously, it's three beady black eye's blinking now and then. It squirmed in her hands, trying to break loose of the seal keeping it closed. Robyn smiled lightly and stroked the spine of the book three times. The book instantly settled and purred, leaving Robyn to open the book and gaze up happily. She then saw the sickly face of Malfoy glaring at her. She felt anxiety build up in the pit of her stomach as her heart began to pound in her chest. Robyn was never good with people, especially not one of the biggest bullies in the school.

"Righ' then. So... so... yeh've got yer books, an' now yeh need the Magical Creatures. Right. So... I'll... I'll go an' get 'em." Hagrid turned and disappeared into the trees.

Draco stepped forward, mumbling to himself. He then smirked, a smirk that made Robyn shiver with fear.

"I see Robyn finally got some friends. I bet you paid them of course, because who would want to be friends with a freak?" Draco spat out, smirking as people around laughed. They all laughed. Robyn staggered back, feeling tears sting her eye's.

She looked over at Hermione, Ron and Harry who all looked angry. They were glaring at Draco. That gave her a bit of reassurance.

"I bet they're only doing it because they feel bad for you. Poor, charity case, Robyn. Always so alone. Do you have imaginary friends, Robyn? I see you talk to yourself a lot." People around continued to laugh and Robyn felt like bursting into tears. She had never felt so humiliated but yet she felt hurt the most. She felt hurt because she actually thought people were beginning to warm up to her. But all she was and ever will be is a freak. A loner. A charity case.

The trio now stood in front of her, ready to defend her and she felt grateful but before they could speak, she did something that shocked herself.

"L-Leave me a...alone." Robyn sputtered out, making Draco's glare harden. His stone cold grey eye's pierced Robyn's, making her look at the ground, not able to hold his stare.

"And she talks! Other than to herself. I bet you feel so special. You've made friends with the Boy Who Lived and his poor and Mudblood friends. Try not to relish it too much. I bet by the end of the week they'll forget you, thinking the world revolves around them. But like I said who would want to be friends with a shy, little, pathetic, joke of a Gryffindor. You're a disgrace to us all."

Robyn felt a tear slide down her cheek. She wanted to run. Run far away from here, never to come back. Maybe Draco was right? Maybe they would leave her?

With a satisfied smirk at Robyn's crying, he went onto a different topic. A topic that drew the last straw for Harry.

"God, this place is going to the dogs. Wait until my father hears Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes." Draco said obnoxiously loud, making his goons, Crabbe and Goyle, laugh.

Harry's blood boiled as he listened to Draco, he couldn't take it anymore. Not only did he hurt his friend but now he's insulting Dumbledore and Hagrid.

Harry turned to Draco but not before he grabbed Robyn's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. He sent her a goofy smile, trying to make her happy again. His smile turned into a grin when Robyn let out a single laugh and wiped her tear's. But all happiness was replaced by anger for Harry as he took a step towards Draco.

"Listen, you stupid prat--" Harry spat each word at Draco, his fists clenching but when he saw Draco's eye's widening in fear, his words stopped as fear began to spread through his veins.

"Potter, there's a Dementor behind you!" Draco's voice went higher and he was practically jittering in fear.

Harry jumped and wheeled around in fear, when he saw nothing he turned back around in anger, only to see Draco, Crabbe, Goyle and Blaise with their hoods up making eerie ghost noises. Harry reddened in embarrassment as the Slytherins broke out laughing. Hermione pulled Harry back and began to tell him not to listen to them but Harry only stared at Robyn.

"You okay? You shouldn't listen to them, you know. We are your friends and trust me you would know if we were faking it. We're terrible liars." Harry spoke with a slight smile, while Ron nodded and Hermione smiled too. Robyn felt her heart warm up as she giggled lightly.

"I'm sure you're not that bad."

The trio sighed in relief at the fact that Robyn believed them.

Suddenly, a strange beast emerged from the trees. It had the torso, hind legs, and tail of a horse, but the front legs, wings and head of a giant eagle. The students stepped back in fear, then Hagrid appeared, shooing the beast on.

"Beau'iful, isn' he?" Hagrid spoke proudly, oblivious to the fact that the students were shifting away slowly.

"Hagrid. Exactly what is that?" Ron asked warily as he stared at the creature in terror and wonder.

"A Hippogriff, o' course. Now, firs' thing yeh gotta know is they're proud. Easily offended, Hippogriffs are. Don't never insult one, 'cause it migh' be the las' thing yeh do. Right then -- who wants ter come an' say hello?"

The entire class stepped back, Harry unknowing of the class taking a step back was one of the two who stayed still. Robyn was the other, she wanted to know more about this creature. She was intrigued.

"Good man, Harry!" Hagrid praised as Harry looked around. Robyn took this time to carefully step back but a twig snapped under her foot, causing Harry and Hagrid to notice her. She cursed under her breath. "Robyn, excellent, well done."

Robyn smiled lightly at Hagrid, her stomach tightening in nerves. Harry grinned at Robyn, making her feel a bit better. He grabbed her hand, pulling her next to him. Robyn sent a playful death glare towards him.

They both took cautious steps towards the Hippogriff.

"Easy now... stop! This here's Buckbeak. Yeh want ter let 'im make the firs' move. It's polite, see? Jus' take a step forward, give 'im a bow, and if Buckbeak bows back, yeh're allowed ter touch him. Ready?"

Unsure, Harry nodded anyway. So did Robyn.

"Ladies first." Harry spoke, his nerves clear in his voice. Robyn snorted, a small smile appearing on her face.

"You wish." She said. Harry's face morphed into a grin and all evidence of fear vanished.

"Y-you'll do fine, trust me." Robyn smiled lightly at him and Harry felt something flutter in his stomach.

"I do."

With Harry's last words, he approached Buckbeak slowly. He stopped, in slight fear, as Buckbeak breathed through his nose. Harry bowed, looking up at the majestic creature to see if it was safe.

After a minute of nothing, panic began to surge through Hagrid's veins. Buckbeak's head cocked, his eagle eyes studying Harry viciously.

"Back off, Harry! Back off!" Hagrid said urgently as the class held their breaths in fear. Robyn looked at Harry to Buckbeak in fear, her fingers crossing together. Harry started to back away, when suddenly Buckbeak bowed his head. Hagrid and the class sighed in relief.

"Well done, Harry! Go on. Give 'im a pat." Hagrid praised, practically glowing.

Tentatively, Harry reached out and layed a hand on Buckbeak's fierce beak. The class clapped and Harry smiled.

Now, it was Robyn's turn. Harry was giving her a look of encouragement as she took her first step towards the magnificent creature. But it had already bowed its head. Robyn grinned but bowed anyway, feeling it was the polite thing to do. The creature took a step forward as Robyn reached out her shaking hand. Robyn gasped as the cold but smooth beak of the Hippogriff soothed her hand.

"Look at that! I reckon he migh' let yeh two ride 'im!" Hagrid spoke as he walked over to them.

Robyn's stomach fluttered in fear. She didn't like heights.

"Excuse me?" Harry said, his smile faltering.

"Y-yeah, I d-don't think t-that's a good i-idea." Robyn sputtered out.

"We'll jus' set yeh behind the wing joint. Mind yeh don' pull any feathers out. He won' like that." As Hagrid rambled on about this, he had picked Harry up and placed him on Buckbeak, he was now doing the same for Robyn, who trembled slightly.

"Off yeh go!"

Hagrid slapped Buckbeak and before Harry and Robyn could get settled or even process what they were doing, Buckbeak galloped forward. Harry gripped onto Buckbeak for dear life as Buckbeak spread his giant but majestic wings. Out of fear and instinct, Robyn wrapped her arms around Harry's waist and held on for the life of her. As Buckbeak soared into the air, Harry was oblivious to the smile on his face at the thought of Robyn trusting him enough.

"W-why did I agree to this? I hate heights." Robyn yelled over the wind as she buried her face into Harry's neck and squeezed her eye's shut. Harry chuckled.

"Yeah, it's not one of your brightest idea's and I don't think we really had a choice." Harry smirked.

The wind soared past them, it felt nice against their skin. Harry took in the landscape. All the mountains, hills, trees, water and most importantly Hogwarts. It was a breathtaking view.

"Shut up! I saw the fear in your eyes when you were on this thing too." Robyn continued their little playful banter.

"Yes, well, at least I'm enjoying the view. You should try opening your eyes, it's amazing." Harry tried to convince Robyn to open her eye's as no words could give the veiw justice. Robyn finally gave in and although at first, she ended up tightening her grip even more on Harry, she slowly began to loosen it as she took in the view.

"Wow." Robyn gasped, a smile etching on her face. Buckbeak glided over the Black lake, the sunlight making it glitter.

Buckbeak's talons tickled the smooth glass of water, summoning the giant squid to the surface briefly. They all heard a whistle and Buckbeak wheeled around, flying them back to the Forbidden Forest. Harry and Robyn were greeted by cheering and clapping, though Robyn knew it was mostly for Harry, she felt happy none the less. But when Robyn caught the malicious glare Draco was sending them, she knew trouble was coming.

"Good work, Harry, Robyn!" Hagrid praised, then under his breath asked: "How'm I doin' me firs' day?"

"Brilliant... Professor." Robyn nodded at Harry's words. They all grinned.

Suddenly, Draco pushed past them and stalked towards Buckbeak. "Give me a go at that thing. If Potter and that Robyn girl can do it, it must be easy. You're not dangerous at all, are you, you great ugly brute --" Draco hissed, as he insulted the proud creature.

"Malfoy! No!" Hagrid said loudly but in a flash, Buckbeak's steely talons slashed out at Malfoy, who froze. Blood oozed from Malfoy's arm as he was left on the floor, fighting back the tears. He trembled as he stared at his arm.

From seeing Buckbeak ready to lash out again, Harry and Robyn rushed forward, calming the beast.

"It's killed me! It's killed me!" Malfoy whined like a child as Slytherin's gathered around him.

"Calm yerself! Yer fine... jus' a scratch..." Hagrid trailed, seeing the deep gash on Draco's limp arm.

"Hagrid. He's got to be taken to the hospital wing!" Hermione cried out and although Robyn wanted Draco to be left there, knew it was the right thing to do.

"I'll go with you, if you like --" Hermione continued, until Hagrid cut her off.

"No. I'm the teacher. You all... you all just... Class dismissed!" Hagrid dismissed the class as he shakily lifted up Malfoy and began to walk away.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and Robyn all looked at eachother as Buckbeak nuzzled into Harry's neck.

"It's okay Buckbeak, you did the right thing." Robyn spoke softy as the other three were left laughing to themselves.
