It was a nice and sunny day as after a day's worth of train you when by the river near the Hosido Castle.

The others were inside as King Ryoma and your other family members were inside enjoying the feast.

You sighed. You sometimes thought if choosing Hosido was better than Nohr, then the same bloodshed would happen on the other path.

But you loved your birth family too much to abandon them.

You sat down by the river as noises of cheers could be heard inside the castle. You put down Yato and stared up at the evening sky. Basking in it's orange earthly glow.

"Hia, (y/n)!"

You screamed a tiny bit as you turned around to see Kaden next to you. Kaden jumped as well as he didn't expect you to scream.

"H-hey! Don't scream next time or my fur is gonna be messed up!"

You breathed back in air as you stood up and faced the fox spirit, "Sorry Kaden... what are you doing out here?"

Kaden sighed as his ears twitched a bit, "Everyone inside the feast tried petting my fur. I don't mind people grooming me, but when I have a lot of hands around me that's a bit too much."

You looked at his fur. You knew other people talked about his fur being silky smoothed, but never got the chance to try it yourself.

"I'm sorry, Kaden, but can I pet your... fur?"

A tint of blush appeared on his cheeks as his fluffy tail wagged a bit, "S-sure! Your only one person so I guess you can touch the beauty of my fur!"

You smiled a tiny bit as you reached out his touch his tail. It felt like silk as each groom was a magical touch.

Kaden hummed in agreement as he melted into your touch, "Wow (y/n)... you may be the second best groomer next to me..."

You raised an eyebrow as your reach when up higher, "Really? But all I'm doing is petting you."

Kaden nodded as his ear twitched cutely in excitement, "Yeah... but I bet my fur is beautiful to you and soft..."

You grin as you touched his ear, "Yep they are."

As soon as you started petting them, Kaden hum in pleasure at the soft touch of your hands touching and scratching his ear, "That's the spot!"

You giggled as you focused on that spot for a long while. After what felt like joyful hours where soon dawned out as the moon poked out.

Kaden stretched as the tint of pink rested on his cheeks as his tail wagged at the sight of you, "Thanks for grooming me~ I now call you my personal groomer to who I need to talk to you!"

It was your turn to blush as Kaden smiled at the sight of it, "O-okay! I'll see if I have some time for you... I am still a princess."

Kaden sat up as he dusted the dirt off his clothes and tail, "Okay. But, you're a cute princess too (y/n)."

Your blush deepened rosy red as Kaden laughed as he walked away.

*a year later*

A knock came at your door as you opened it. You knew who it was so you grabbed the brush before opening the door to Kaden.

"Hello Kaden. I'm guessing it's grooming day?"

"Yep! You haven't groomed me in two weeks! I know you're a princess and are busy a lot! So I keep my patience for you."

You smiled and motioned for Kaden to enter as he shook his head, "I want you to groom me where you first did it."

Confused, you raised a eyebrow but went along for it, "Okay then."

Kaden grinned as he ran down the castle and too the spot by the river. You raced down with him as the river gleamed in the moonlight.

Kaden sat down by a rock as he fidget a bit. You chuckled and sat down on a flat rock as Kaden's fluffy fur shined in the moonlight making it more beautiful than it was before.

"Can you start with the tail?"

You nodded as you started grooming his tail from the end. Kaden sigh in bliss as he one again melted into your touch. To him, it was the second beautiful feeling ever.

You hummed to yourself while continuing to groom his tail. A soft sliver light caught your eye as you looked on the tip of his tail to find a ring with a ruby stone in the middle.

You stared at it. Kaden realized you found it as you stopped grooming him.

Kaden took the ring off his tail as he knelt down on one knee.

"(y/n), will you listen to what this beautiful fox has to say?"

You nodded, speechless for words as your heart was beading with love filling it up.

"You better prepare yourself, yeah? My love is more beautiful than diamonds and it's heavy, too. Even if you don't want me, I'll still be by your side! Forever and ever. Got it?"

You burst into giggles of joy as you hugged Kaden dearly to yourself, "Yes! I get it you cute fox! I'll marry you. And find some time to get more grooming sessions for you. Because I love you, Kaden."

Kaden flashed his beautiful white teeth as he smiled and kissed your nose, "I'm glad! Maybe next time I can groom you myself!"

You blush as Kaden laughed at your cute blushing face, "Huh?! But why?!"

Kaden smiled as he sat you down on his lap. Staring into your beautiful (e/c) eyes, "You know I pay back a person who's done a good deed too me. Your love is a deed I'll keep repaying for the rest of my life." He held you closer as his warm breath tickled your lips, "because I love you and your beauty just as much as I love your heart. I know it's just as beautiful as mine for all the sacrifices you did in order for you family and country to find peace. I want to marry you for the beauty and kindness I see in you, (y/n). I love you."

His lips connected onto yours as it was pure and beautiful. It lasted up to a long time as Kaden kissed you back with all the love he had for the two wonderful things in his heart.
