Eagles Cry, Skipping Stone, and Starry Skies were in the garden. Starry skies had just finished her last year of school, and was turning 10. They had decided to celebrate in the gardens of the castle.
The tribe had decided to vote for a new queen, and Eagle had to approve her. A dark green and pink deathwing had been chosen. Queen Shining Sun. She was young, but so far a good queen. She had dragonets of her own, and so far, the oldest heir was Starry's best friend.

Queen Sun had allowed Eagles cry and his family to stay in the castle. His younger brother, Little Fox had left to study in the Rainforest Kingdom.

The ex-queen, Eagles sister, Fire's Phoenix, had vanished, some said she left, and flew across the ocean in search of another home. Others said that when she flew off the cliff she intended to die.

His niece, Golden Ashes, who only he, Little Fox, and Skipping Stone, (and a few other dragons around the castle) knew about. Was queen of the Sandwings. Her name was Ash now, just Ash.

Queen Ash ran down the hallway, She was an adult now, and a good ruler, as her father said. Her mother had died when she was born. Her mother had also been a Nightwing.
But the small razor on her tail tip told her otherwise. Her father, Prince Venom, had said it was a mix of a sand barb and a normal tail. She knew what a Deathwings razor tail looked like though. These lies that he told her had led her to not trust him. In fact, sometimes she wondered if he had killed her mother.
Most nights she would lock herself in her gigantic room and cry softly, wishing that the burden of being queen would stop soon. She didn't have any heirs, not even a dragon she loved.

That was because she didn't trust any.

She had memories of leaping through piles of gold in the treasury, but not in the Sandwing castle.

She had memories of hugging her mother, a queen, goodnight.

She had memories of a different dragon's life. A life she longed to live.
