That entire night Chandrika wasn't able to sleep, from her balcony she kept looking at the forest, where Rishi Nar and Narayan would be performing penance.

That night the stars were twinkling as if grateful as they got to see her beauty the entire night.

Chandrika realized it was dawn already as she felt the warmth of the first rays of the dawn that fell right on her. To anyone it would look like the dawn was passionately embracing her like a lover.

"I might get late for morning prayers." Chandrika muttered going out.

Chandrika and Chhaya went to the temple of Mahadev, where they have been going to since past 17 years, ever since they were 3.

It was outside the city so not many came there thus there was peace at that temple. When they got their they saw the priest had not yet opened the temple.

So Chandrika and Chhaya decided to sit outside and wait.

"Well, yesterday I saw you with a saint. Who was he ?" Chhaya asked.

"Rishi Nar was his name." Chandrika said blushing.

"Is that red tint on your cheek ?" Chhaya teased causing her to blush even more.

"Soon your hands will have his name written over." Chhaya said.

"Hush now ! Go and pluck some flowers." Chandrika said.

"As you wish." Chhaya chuckled walking away.

But what she said got stuck in the mind of Chandrika as she looked at her hand, imagining it to have the name of Rishi Nar written over it.

"Oh Mahadev." She giggled.

"Devi ?" Someone called. She turned behind and found none other than Rishi Nar.

"Oh ! Pranam Rishivar. I didn't expect you to be here." Chandrika said.

"Me neither. Are you again chasing some animal ?" He asked.

"No." She said.

"So why the bow and quiver ?" He asked.

"I am a Kshatriya princess, I carry it for my own safety." Chandrika said.

"I see." He smiled, making her flush.

"What brings you here ?" She asked.

"I came here with my brother to offer prayers." Rishi Nar said.

"Nar, I brought the flowers." Rishi Narayan said coming towards them.

"Chandrika, here are the flowers." Chhaya said.

"Devi, this is my elder brother Narayan." Nar introduced.

"Pranam Rishi Narayan." Chandrika bowed.

"Kalyanamastu." He blessed.

"Lets offer our prayers." Chhaya said.

The four of them went to the temple and started offering their prayers. Chandrika couldn't take her eyes off him.

'Hey Mahadev, make him mine and make me his.' Chandrika prayed.

"What did you ask for ?" Chhaya asked.

"N-Nothing." Chandrika said.

"Well, I asked for a suitor who can answer your question." Chhaya said.

"What question ?" Rishi Nar asked.

"Nar, I have heard that Rajkumari Chandrika asks a question to all those who wish to marry her but no one can answer the question correctly." Rishi Narayan said.

"Yes I got this question from Mahadev to help me know who is the right one for me." Chandrika said.

"Really ? What is the question ?" He asked.

"The question is - If love is the basis of life then what is the basis of love ?" Chandrika told.

"Acceptance is the basis of love. You can only love someone if you accept them for who they are, love can only be true if one even love the flaws of other." Rishi Nar said.

"Correct answer." Chandrika said getting up and walking out.

Outside the temple she picked up her bow and quiver as few tears streamed down her face.

"He is the right one." Chandrika muttered taking a look back.

FUN FACT - THE MOTHER OF NAR NARAYAN IN SOME SCRIPTURES IS MURTI WHILE IN OTHERS IS AHIMSA...BUT IF AHIMSA IS THEIR MOTHER THEN ASUR KALI WOULD BE THEIR BROTHER.

SO HERE'A THING.....

RISHI NAR IS A GOD, CHANDRIKA IS A HUMAN. AND YOU ARE SMART ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A HUMAN FALLS FOR A GOD....
