When Eve finally released me, I sat back on the bench.

"Thanks." I said with a sniffle.

"For what?" She asked.

"For listening." I replied.

She nodded before looking down.

I rubbed my forehead. "Hey, uh... you wanna grab something to eat?"

She looked up, a small smile on her face. "Sure."

I returned her smile before standing up and following her to her car.

After ordering, we sat silently across from each other. I met her gaze, a small smile forming on my face.

"What?" She asked, a smile of her own starting to form.

"Nothing... you're just really pretty... beautiful even."

Her smile grew wider as she lowered her head, attempting to hide a blush.

Eventually the food came and we ate in silence. It wasn't until after the meal that the real conversation started.

"Ozzy was definitely better than Dio." I defended.

Eve laughed. "Bullshit, Dio was a way better singer."

I laughed a little in return. "No way. It's not Black Sabbath without Ozzy."

As we continued our pointless "argument" I started to realize just how cool Eve was. Not only was she absolutely stunning, but she had a good sense of humor and a great taste in music. Not to mention she was so easy to talk to. It's like I've known her for years.

Eventually, we decided to head home.

We pulled in front of my house and I got out. To my surprise, Eve got out to and walked me to the door.

"Thanks for the ride." I said.

   She smiled. "Any time."

We stared into each other eyes for what seemed like hours. 'God, I could get lost in her eyes.' I thought. Then, my eyes lowered to her lips.

That kiss we shared, while brief, was the best kiss I've ever had and I was definitely craving it right now.

She seemed to sense what I was thinking as she slowly started leaning in.

I sucked in a tight breath as I did the same, when the front door suddenly opened.

We jumped apart as Diana appeared in the doorway, smiling.

   "Belle. Eve." She said.

"Hi, Miss Archer." Eve said, averting her gaze.

I gave Diana a look. "Uh, can you give us a second?"

She laughed before turning on her heel and walking back inside.

I turned back to Eve, who was giggling.

I smiled as I leaned in once more, this time our lips met in the middle. I felt everything inside me heat up, from my head to my toes. My knees even started to grow weak.

I reluctantly pulled away so I didn't collapse right there, because if we held that kiss any longer I'm convinced I would have.

Eve smiled at me. "See you around."

   I returned her smile. "Bye."

Then, she left, skipping back to her car. I watched her leave before heading inside and collapsing on the couch with a happy sigh.

Diana sat down next to me. "So, I take it you worked things out."

I was still speechless from the kiss, so I just smiled and nodded.

"Wow, it's been a while since I've seen a genuine smile on your face."

   "Well, get used to it."

She shook her head and laughed a little before standing up. I stopped her before she could get away though.

   "What's up?" She asked.

I lowered my head and sighed. "Diana, I'm sorry for ditching you at moms... Hell, I'm sorry for the way I've been acting since I moved in. I know you've just been trying to help and... well... I appreciate it."

She was quiet for a second before pulling me into a tight hug. "I love you, Belle."

I smiled as a happy tear dripped down my cheek. "I love you to, Diana."

—————————

It's been a couple weeks since the incident at my moms house. I haven't been back to see her, but I have been in a better mood lately and that was all thanks to Eve.

Ever since that day, we've been hanging out a lot.

I wouldn't call us an official couple yet or anything, but there was definitely an undeniable attraction between us. She helped me quit drinking for the most part and I've seriously cut back on the smoking, not to mention I haven't had one of those dreams since that day. Overall, my life was going pretty great right now.

Sadly, that was all gonna change.

I gave Eve a quick kiss and wave before she drove off.

I walked through the door and greeted Diana and Jeremy, who sat at the kitchen table.

"Wow, Belle, you're in a good mood today." Jeremy said.

I grabbed a water from the fridge before joining them at the table.

"She's been like that ever since she started dating Eve." Diana answered.

I set my water down. "First off, we're not dating." I started, causing Diana to laugh a little.

"And, secondly, thanks for noticing, Jeremy." I finished.

   He smiled and nodded.

Then Diana spoke again. "Well, since you're in such a good mood, I have some news."

She glanced at Jeremy and they smiled.

I glanced suspiciously between the two. "Are you... pregnant?"

They both laughed a little. "No, nothing like that." Jeremy said.

"Yeah, I mean, we're not even married yet." Diana added.

   Jeremy looked at her. "Yet?"

She seemed shocked. "Well... I mean when you're ready... no rush."

As the awkward silence started to settle, I spoke up. "Anyway, what's the news?"

They quickly turned to me. "Oh, right, Jeremy's moving in." Diana said.

I looked between the two of them, they wore matching smiles.

"As long as you guys don't disturb my sleep, I don't mind." I said before taking a sip of my water.

They looked at each other again. "Well, actually..." Jeremy started, but Diana cut in.

"It's gonna be just us..." She said.

I stared her in the eyes. "Are you... are you asking me to move out?"

She lowered her head, but nodded anyway.

"We're sorry, Belle, but we feel it's for the best." Jeremy said.

I quietly glanced between them again before angrily standing up.

"No, I get it." I said before walking to my room.

"Belle, it's not like that." Diana said as she ran up behind me.

I turned quickly. "Then, please, enlighten me." I said, folding my arms over my chest.

"Dammit, Belle, don't do this. You can stay with us for as long as you nee-"

"Oh, don't worry about me. I'll be out of your hair in a few minutes." I said as I charged upstairs and slammed my bedroom door.

I put a few essential things in a book bag before marching back downstairs and outside, ignoring their calls as I got in my car and drove off.

Eventually, I wound up in front of Violets house. I sighed before getting out and walking up to the front door.

I knocked a few times and after a couple minutes the door opened.

Violet rubbed her tired eyes. "Oh, hey. What're you doing here?" She asked.

I lowered my head. "Diana's kicking me out and I could really use a place to stay for a few days."

Violet nodded and led me inside.

"The couch is yours, stay as long as you need." She said before heading into the basement, where she slept.

I sighed as I set my bag down and took a seat on her couch.

'Just when everything starts going good, something always comes up to bite me in the ass.' I thought as I laid back on Violets couch, where I slowly fell asleep...
