Can it just be put out that Bonnie Bennett hates Halloween? Part of it is due to her best friend, Caroline's, constant demanding that she get out of her jeans and put on that sexy witch costume. Most of it is due to the pressure of looking good and standing out and being someone she isn't.

So when Caroline pulls out the puppy dog eyes and begins pleading with her, Bonnie sighs and slips into the black dress, narrowing her eyes at Caroline the whole time. The glare doesn't faze Caroline who only looks back at her with a bright smile as Bonnie ties a dark sequinned mask on.

When they get to the party, Caroline is almost immediately pulled into the throng of dancing people, and if Bonnie squints a little, she can see Caroline being spun around by Klaus Mikaelson

Sighing, Bonnie decides to get a drink. Walking over to the table with beverages on it, she pours herself a soft drink because it's more likely than not Caroline will end up wasted and Bonnie will need to drive. Turning around, there is a man behind her

"Oh, sorry, I'll move" Bonnie apologised, moving out of the way of the guy. He is dressed in a suit and bloody mask

"Don't worry about it. I'm Stefan, by the way" Stefan says. He has a nice voice, deep and kind

"Bonnie" Bonnie replies.

An hour later, and the two remain sober and are still talking

"My grams died two years ago. My dad didn't come to the funeral and my mom left after she had me" Bonnie admits

"I'm sorry" Stefan says

"Don't be, it's not your fault" Bonnie shrugs

"You didn't deserve that, Bonnie" Stefan tells her and Bonnie likes how he says her name. Not like she is an innocent, precious thing but like she's a warrior or a goddess or something

"It's almost midnight." Bonnie says and curses herself for the slight squeak in her throat, "Can I see your face?"

"Only if I can see yours" Stefan replies and on a silent count of three, the two take off their masks and reveal their faces.

Bonnie can't believe who she's been talking to. Forget handsome, she spilled her woes on Adonis or something. His emerald green eyes, jaw, perfect skin...Bonnie feels ashamed and insecure until Stefan touches her cheek

"You're so beautiful" he says and she smiles
