Looking at the group, no one would have ever thought that they had banded together to save the the world. In fact it didn't look like they had ever been in the same room together. They were a mix of ages, a mix of styles, a mix of emotions.

Sapphire, or at least the one that called herself that, was unbearably vocal about everything. She was screaming, and crying, and wailing like she had lost the world in the blink of an eye. Her blue hair was unruly, tumbling down her shoulders as she threw herself against the metal bars of the holding cell. Her hood was down, but her fox ears were flat enough that she almost looked like a normal human, if it wasn't for the blue tail. The cuffs around her wrists were tight and thick without a keyhole in sight. It kept her from using her powers with a glow of awful bright blue.

Her cell mate was as ashen pale as her name suggested. Her teeth were clenched in an attempt to stave off the pain she was getting from something. She didn't look like a mutant, but they had realized she needed to be cuffed anyway: she had broken two ribs and nose when they had tried to drag her away. Her short dirty blonde hair looked as worn and torn as the rest of her: she sat with her back against the wall and her hands in front of her staring at nothing.

Rhiannon, like Ash, wore handcuffs despite the fact that she didn't seem to have a power at all. She had sent three men to the sick bay before they had subdued her. Her dark hair faded to a red that match the dried blood from a shallow cut on her cheek. She whispered to Sapphire but her heart wasn't in it. Her metal handcuffs didn't stop her from looking around the ship, fighting to find the infirmary.

Away from them, or at least as far away as she could get in the tiny cell, was Kori. She also wore power blocking handcuffs, but she didn't need her hands to be free to bury her head in them. They hadn't taken away her hearing aid but it had been a close call.

In the cell across from them were three boys. Ivan, the dark haired one who did his best to be in charge, was picking at his hand cuffs looking distraught. There was no way to take them off, but he looked more worried at the silence in his head.

Xeno was trying to console his girlfriend, but without his explosions, it seemed that nothing could reach her. He leaned against the bars searching for weaknesses in them completely unaware that that same cage had held stronger, more vile beasts than him before without caving.

Joel gritted his teeth flexing his fingers in the cuffs. Even though it was useless to try his power, he seemed determined to keep doing it. Maybe it was a coping mechanism? Whatever the case, the hand cuffs must have been made from the same energy Lightning Storm had produced: it negated all his powers completely.

The last boy was Jax. He wasn't sad, or distraught, or despondent like the others. He was mad. His anger had nearly crushed three men and sent two more flying off the decks in a light breeze. He was dangerous, keeping all of his anger inside himself until he was shaking with rage. He, of all of them, seemed the least worried about the blood on his clothes, but the most worried about the one who's blood it was.

The waves crashes against the boat, rocking them from side to side.

The only noise was sapphire's crying, the waves, and the distant yell of men who seemed as unsure what to do with them as they were with how they got there. They knew one thing though: the sailors were pirates and they didn't speak English at all. Also they had sharp swords.

Oh, and they had dragged Felix, their final companion, off to who-knows-where. For medical treatment? For throwing him overboard?

All was tense until Rhiannon yet out a large gasp, and reached blindly out to the metal bars, "I found him! I found Felix! They're dressing his wounds! He's alive!"
