As unlikely as it seems, the purple haired sailor boy might have actually been on the mutants side. In the dim lighting, he still cowered away from the gun in his captain's hand. The candle flame flickered ominously between bated breaths.

The boy was average sized, but compared to the giant form of the captain he appeared small and weak. His black eye was dark and old like a reoccurring wound. His split lip was slightly swollen and with the candle light being so close to him the bruises on his arms were apparent. He wore trousers that cut off at the knee, no socks or shoes, a white shirt with no sleeves, and half a dozen wrist bands on either arm. He didn't look the part of a pirate but he spoke their language as fluently as he spoke English.

"I suggest you make a very quick and convincing lie." The boy had said nervously.

The captain stood only a few feet away apparently confident in the translation ability of the boy. His gun didn't change it's positioning.

"If he doesn't believe the next thing I tell him," the purple haired boy said to them, "The next bullet will either go through my heart, or one of yours. And then your friend in the infirmary goes swimming."

He took a deep breath and held it as he waited for the response.

The ship rocked from side to side, barely noticeable for anyone in the room. The wooden beams creaked, the candle flickered, and the distant cheering of pirates sounded like an ode to death itself.
