3rd Person POV

[Ever since the Barian's appeared, JP has been battling them and taking their Number Cards. Astral still remains suspicious but holds onto the hope that JP is really on his side. Many things have changed since then as well. JP though today in school is hiding and watching his back. His friends find him]

Tori: JP?

JP: Ah!

Bronk: You okay? You seemed kind of paranoid right now.

JP: If you knew my reason why then you'd understand.

[Caswell and Flip come running over]

Caswell: Did you guys hear? There's a new girl in school!

Flip: Yeah and she's a 10 on the beautiful scale!

Cathy: I'm sure she's not that beautiful.

Tori: Who cares. Let's meet her!

JP: I'm going to skip this. See you later.

[JP walks away]

Bronk: Why doesn't he want to meet her?

Tori: I don't know.

[The gang goes to where the new girl is and sees that it's Rio, Shark's sister]

Bronk: It's Rio!

Tori: Rio? Isn't that Shark's sister?

Rio: Yes I am.

Cathy: She isn't that pretty.

Rio: Are you sure because all of these boys seem to disagree. Like your friend over there.

[Bronk has heart in his eyes and blush on his face]

Rio: Sorry, boya, but I already have my eye on someone and I know he's here somewhere. I know he's avoiding me.

Tori: Is she talking about JP?

Rio: JP, you better come out here now or I'll tell everyone what you said to me in the hospital.

[JP quietly walks forward]

JP: Hey, Rio. I didn't know today was your day.

Rio: You did. I told you yesterday when I left the hospital. In fact you gave me this necklace yesterday as well. It had a picture of my brother but I replaced it with a better one.

Cathy: What is it?

Rio: Story for another time. Anyway, JP, you know why I'm here.

JP: To go to school?

Rio: Close. I'm here for you to take me on that date you promised!

Everyone: What?

JP: I did promise that didn't I?

Cathy: When was that?

Tori: Why weren't we told?

JP: Uh...

Rio: School is about to start. Let's hold hands and walk to school, JP.

JP: Yes, dear.

[JP and Rio walk to school walking hand in hand]

Cathy: I can't believe she beat me to him!

Tori: Yeah!

Caswell: They aren't officially together but very close.

Bronk: If that's the case then I'm challenging JP to a duel!

Cathy: Why?

Bronk: JP doesn't deserve Rio. She deserves better.

Flip: Bronk, I don't think there is anyone better.

Bronk: Well, I'm still challenging him.

[Later that day at lunch, JP and Rio are sitting together while she feeds him. Tori and Cathy see this and aren't happy]

Tori: I can't watch this anymore.

Cathy: Me either!

[Bronk walks dramtically in]

Bronk: JP, I challenge you to a duel for Rio's heart!

JP: Bronk, why are you...

Rio: Why not, JP?

JP: Huh?

Rio: You should duel him and show him why you're better. I also would like to see how strong you've become!

Bronk: You've already sided with him?

Rio: Of course.

[JP and Bronk stand outside ready to face each other. The whole school is watching]

Bronk: I'm going to beat you, JP!

Rio: JP, if you hold back I'll spill everything.

JP: (Sigh) Why do I feel like everything is going to get a lot harder?

Bronk: Here's the deal. You can't do that stuff I can't do. It isn't fair.

JP: Are you saying you're not man enough to beat me and so you need a handicap?

[The crowd murmurs]

Flip: He makes a good point.

JP: (Thoughts) I don't have my partner with me so I won't have his deck.

Astral: Don't worry, JP. We got this.

JP: Tell you what, Bronk. All I will do is XYZ and Pendulum Summon.

Bronk: Fine.

[JP and Bronk activate their duel disks]

JP: Duel disk, go! Duel gazer, let's roll! Duel interface set! Time to feel the flow!

Computer: Augmented Reality Vision Link established.

JP/Bronk: Let's duel!

JP: Since you challenged me, I'll go first. My turn. I place a card face down. I use Scale 1 Stargazer Magician and Scale 8 Timegazer Magician to set the Pendulum Scale. I'm taking control of this duel starting now!

Rio: This is new.

Flip: He isn't wasting any time.

JP: I can now summon monsters from Levels 2 to 7 all at the same time! Swing far, Pendulum! Carve the Arc of Victory! My monster is ready to swing into action! Turn up the heat, Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon!

Bronk: You have that dragon on the field already?

JP: When a girl's heart is on the line, I never joke around. Turn end.

Bronk: My turn. I draw. I place a monster face down in DEF Mode. I end my turn with two face downs.

JP: My turn. Draw. Battle. When I have these two monsters in my Pendulum Zone and a pendulum monster attacks, you can't activate any spell or trap cards.

Bronk: That's why this is unfair!

JP: Too bad. Odd Eyes, destroy his face down! Spiral Flame Strike!

Bronk: No!

JP: Turn end.

Bronk: My turn. I draw. I activate my trap: Geargigear. This trap allows me to summon two Geargiano monsters from my deck and raise levels by 1. I choose two Georgiano Mk-II.

Bronk: Now they're Level 4.

Bronk: I summon Tin Goldfish in ATK Mode!

Tin Goldfish: Level 4- 800 ATK/ 2000 DEF

Bronk: Its ability allows me to summon Geargiamor from my hand!

Geargiamor: Level 4- 1100 ATK/ 1900 DEF

Bronk: I now overlay my two Level 4 Georgiano Mk-II a and Level 4 Georgiamor! With these three monsters I build the Overlay Network! I XYZ Summon: Tin Archduke!

Tin Archduke: Rank 4- 2200 ATK/ 1200 DEF

Bronk: From my hand I activate a spell: Double Summon! Now I can normal summon again this turn. I summon UFO Turtle in ATK Mode!

UFO Turtle: Level 4- 1400 ATK/ 1200 DEF

JP: Are you sure this was wise to use your full hand?

Bronk: Defiantley. I activate Tin Archduke's special ability! By using 1 overlay unit, I can switch your dragon to DEF Mode! Now you can't stop me! Tin Archduke, destroy his dragon! Blade Bop!

JP: Haha.

Bronk: What's so funny?

JP: This. Trap card, open: Mirror Force! Now all your monsters are destroyed!

Bronk: What? No way!

JP: Did you think I didn't see that coming? You're too emotional. You're not thinking straight. That's why you'll lose.

Bronk: Urk. I end my turn.

JP: My turn. Draw. I place a card face down. I switch Odd Eyes back to ATK Mode. Battle. Odd Eyes, attack him directly! Spiral Flame Strike!

Bronk: Another Pendulum monster?

JP: I'm afraid so. Battle. Odd Eyes destroy his face down! Spiral Flame Strike!

Bronk: No!

JP: Flash Knight, attack him directly!

Bronk: Ahh!

[Rio laughs and takes JP by the hand and leads him away. Little did she know that four other girls grabbed their decks and duel disks and were prepared to challenge her]
