Varna didnt thought for second.Before taking Pranush in her arms.Her own eyes were filled with tears.Vivaan was clueless.What happened.But he soon acted wise.Started rubbing babys back.Trying to comfort him.He picked him up.Despite of Varnas reluctance.He held Pranush upside down.

Var-"What are you doing.Cant you hear.He is crying.He is in pain.Im calling doctor.Right away."

Her face lost colors.In fear.She cant let anything happen to ray of her life.She went to door.Touching bolt.When heard loud cry from Pranush.Turned back to see Vivaan rubbing sweat.From his head.Taking sigh of relief.Pranush was now clinging to his father.Rubbing his face.On his shoulder.He shut his eyes.In fear and pain.He endured for those minutes.Varna rushed back to him.Taking him from Vivaans arms.Baby as if understood her touch.Was crying less now.Vivaan gave his bottle to her.Being thirsty.Pranush quickly had some faster and coughed.Varna rubbed his back.She cried holding him.Kissing him with all love.Vivaan saw that.It was when Varna realized.How Pranush became normal.

She looked at Vivaan.He didnt say anything.Just his eyes made her.Show something on floor.In the carpet.Varna noticed her ring lying there.So Pranush got that inside his mouth.It was by luck.He didnt swallowed it.Else how dangerous consequence could have been.She widened her eyes.In horror and guilt.Vivaan made his out of room.Without saying word.

V-"No need to wake up anyone.He looks better now.Will take him to doctor.In morning."

He came out of room.Had some chilled water.He didnt want to remember moment.Which almost took his life away.Previously it was when.He lost Ramya.Pranush was his life.He also knew he can never.Blame Varna for what happened.Unknowingly his hate for that ring.Made him feel furious.He took some time.Staying in garden alone.Calming himself down.

Varna sat on bed.Her face tear strained.She was slowly rubbing.Pranushs back.As he was sleeping.After making him wash his mouth.Checking if he was alright.She changed his clothes.Cleaned him and fed him milk.Little chub was hungry.He rested his head.On varnas shoulder.His small fingers.Gripping on her dress.While showered with kisses.Every minute by his mother.Mothers heart can never.get rid of fear.Of losing her baby.Varna was still not.Out of shock.What would have happened.If Vivaan didnt acted on time.She wasnt aware of this technique.To get ring out of babys mouth.For first time she thought.She cant be sufficient for Pranush alone.He needs his father too.If Vivaan wasnt there today.She would have lost her baby.

She kissed Pranushs head.Again closing her eyes.Slowly rocking him in her arms.When her eyes travelled to ring.Lying on carpet.She wiped her tears.Slowly placing baby on middle of bed.Kissing his head again.Staring at his face.He was an angel.Then she bent down.On knees.Slowly gathering courage to touch ring.When she touched it.Taking it on her hand.Door opened and Vivaan came.His eyes fell on her.He hated ring.So much.he never thought he would develop.Such feeling for anyone in life.He direct went to washroom.

After coming out.He found Varna on one side of bed.Humming tune.As Pranush stirred in his sleep.She slowly patted her chest.Lulling him to sleep.Humming sweet tune.His ears never felt.This soothing.He kept towel away.Looking at enduring sight.She sensed he was there.Holding Pranushs hand.She kissed there while he also came on bed.She didnt mind that.Vivaan kissed his sons head.Then his hand.He would never let.Any harm come to him.He sensed Varnas uneasiness.Opted to sleep on her bed down.She felt guilty.For many reasons today unknowingly.Vivaan felt tug.As he was about to move from bed.Pranush was tightly holding his finger.Securing it on his hold.Varna saw that too.When he tried to pull his finger.Out of grip.She asked him not to.

Var-"If you force.He will wake up.Start crying."

V-"Your pain will increase.If you sleep on floor.There is no other way."

He was about to do.Same thing again.When he felt her hand.On his hand.Stopping him.Both shared eyelock.Varna removed her hand soon.She knew what she was saying.But this was only for Pranush.Anything for him.She will do.

Var-"You can.Stay here."

V-"I dont want you.To develop more wise thoughts about me.Thank you.I will manage there."

Var-"Im telling you.Please.He has suffered enough pain.Cant see him crying again.You can.Sleep here."

V-"But doctor told you.Not to hurt your back."

Var-"Im not doing that."

He saw her.Shifting on other side.Pulling Pranush bit.More towards her.It was as if.For night he was.Boundary securing her.From him.Vivaan dimmed lights.Soon and settled on his side of bed.He felt this night.Was very different.Rush of emotions together.As he looked on his other side.Varna resting her back.On bed half sitting position.Her hands securing baby.Vivaan kept on looking at her.Till sleep made him travel.Some different world.

The early rays of dawn.Entered room.Disturbing Vivaans sleep.He opened his eyes.Taking yawn.Soon remembering nights event.Which almost made them suffer hell.He looked at Pranush beside.Who was awake.Busy sucking his thumb.Vivaan smiled lightly.Resting his head on elbow.He cooed his babys cheeks.While little one flashed smile.He made noises.When Vivaan eyed him not to.Keeping his fingers on lips.Varna was sleeping with her hand still around baby.Vivaan touched her hand.Slowly shifting it back to her.He had urge to move her hair.Disturbing her by falling on her face.He did that.Soon heard noise again.His son was trying to.get his attention.

V-"I know.I know chub.You must be hungry.Let your amma sleep.She was awake whole night.come we will get something.For your angry tummy"

First thing that was done.In morning was taking Pranush to doctor.Vivaan and Varna were only assured after.Doctor did check up and said that baby was fine.He asked them to be careful from next time.As these things can be dangerous for him.All were informed in morning.about last nights event.It made them scared too and they were relieved to know.Pranush was alright.Sitting on breakfast table.Pranush was on Vikrams lap.

Vik-"Vivaan you should have.Told us at night about this.Why didnt you."

Sh-"Yes your Dad is right.When I heard this in morning.You both already went to doctors place.I was so scared."

V-"Relax mom.He is fine now.In fact he didnt swallow the ring.So nothing happened.It was out on right time."

Varna recalled again.Looking at baby.That moment can never be forgotten.If Vivaan wasnt there.She would have lost her senses completely.She was applying butter on bread.Thinking about all this.Vivaan noticed her fingers.When he checked her both hands.He didnt see ring.On any of her fingers.

Shivani looked at Varnas pale face.Knowing how she would have been worrying.Sleepless whole night.She made her sit.Serving her breakfast and coffee.Varna was still down.The thought of something.Happening to Pranush didnt leave her.She was time and again.checking on him.While he was happily playing with Vikram.

Sh-"Varna I understand.Mothers heart will always be in fear.For her baby.Dont worry.Our Pranu will always be safe.He has all blessings."

Varna gave light smile.Having her coffee.When Pranush coughed again.She rushed to make him have water.Making sure he is alright.Shivani saw that.She can never be more sure.of her decision to bring Varna.In this house.Her love for Pranush was beyond anything.Even crossing boundaries she has made for herself.She noticed Varnas empty hand and fingers.

Sh-"He is fine now.Stop worrying.We will go to temple today.if it can ease your heart."

Var-"I should have been careful.It happened because of me.I should have thought.He is too small and started.Learning new things.He is also teething."

Sh-"Every mother has to go through.This phase specially when baby.Starts growing.This time is very crucial for Pranu.But I also know that.A mother like you.Will not let anything happen to him.Stop blaming yourself.You know when Vivaan was of this age.He did same.He was fond of.tasting my chain ring and for him.I had to hide my wedding chain and rings.Like father like son."

Var-"I didnt knew what to do.He got ring out of Pranu.Else what would have happened.I cant imagine."

Shivani saw Varna saying about Vivaan.While keeping her eyes glued to Pranush.She liked fact that first time.She had something to say about Vivaan.Being vocal about it.Soon Varna became conscious.Hiding look on her face.Shivani rubbed her back.

Sh-"When husband wife together.Handles difficult situation.It strengthens their bond.With baby as well as their bond.My son is great father.I know that.But I also believe.He will be good husband too.To you."

Shivani went away.With smirk on face.Varna was shaking from inside.She sipped from mug.Keeping her thoughts about Vivaan.to herself again.He is undoubtedly a good father.She havent thought about him as husband.Can she do that now.Then she looked at her finger.Where no longer ring was present.

Few days passed but Varnas fears increased.Paying more care and attention to Pranush.Vivaan used to make good laugh about that.In front of everyone.Getting good hearing from Shivani for that.Nothing could stop mother.From worrying about her baby.If it was Varna,Who had to be extra cautious.While she busied herself on this.Vivaan didnt forget his mission too.Annoying Varna.

One day she was cleaning his table.On room.Making face as it will filled with papers and files.She kept files neatly.Found book among them.She frowned reading title.Hundred ways to bring back mental stability.Front cover was funny.It infuriated Varna.She saw Vivaan whistling and entering room.Carrying Pranush on his hip.Who was in jumpy mood too.Both saw Varna.Glaring at them.

V-"Pranu looks like.Its too hot inside."

Var-"What crap is this.You think Im.This book."

V-"oh this book.I was looking for it.Where did you find it.Thanks."

Var-"You think you are very smart."

V-"If you are saying.Maybe Im.What say chub."

Pranush nodded.Giving his consent.Varna threw book on bed in anger.Vivaan was laughing from inside.It was one of his ways again.Annoy her.He kept innocent face.

Var-"You think Im mentally unstable.You are finding all these ways to annoy me."

V-"When did I say that.You are thinking too far.I got this book.As gift.So I thought can give it read.You can read too.Maybe it will be helpful."

She stomped her feet on floor.Leaving room in anger.Vivaan smiled and gave high five.To his son.Who understood every action well giving loud chuckle.

It was first time despite of Varnas reluctance.Take Vivaan with her for Pranushs vaccination.Every time Shivani or Lata used to go with her.Both were busy and Vivaan.Wanted to go with her.She had no escape.Vivaan already said hundred times to doctor.be safe and asking her again and again.If it would hurt baby.Be safe and doctor gave annoying looks.Varna was fed up too.She was much stronger than him.In this case.Pranush was brave baby.He never cried much during vaccination.Except when it pricked him little.Doctor was too good handling babies.Who would make that understand.To Mr Vivaan.

Doctor applied medicine.On pranushs arm with cotton.Busying him with her talks.He was smiling too.Vivaan and Varna were standing.Varna held baby from back.Making him feel that his mother was there.When Vivaan saw injection.He started again.Thsi time doctor warned him.Stay away else she will.Give injection to him too.Making Varna laugh.

V-"Im telling you.It will hurt him.Whats need.Cant we make him have any medicine."

Var-"its important for him.Keep him safe from diseases.Pranu is brave boy."

Varna kissed babys head.Getting wink from little one.Which surprised her.Her eyes shined with light like happiness.Vivaan was mesmerized seeing that.he too bend down.Whispering to her.

V-"He is just like.His father.brave and bold."

She glared at him.When doctor coughed.Taking their attention.Today as if Vivaans fear came true.Pranush was crying when injection pricked him.he never did like this.Doctor was surprised too.She tried to calm him down with her words.Slowly rubbing his arms.But his face was all red.Varna took him in her arms.While Vivaan also tried to make him calm.Having him some water.Suddenly he became calm.Surprising both of them.They saw him looking at direction.Babys cries were heard.Who also came for vaccination.She was pretty baby.Of few months old.Crying on her mothers arms.Pranush was staring at her with wide eyes.He didnt move his eyes from her.When Varna tried.Looking other side he shouted.If telling her not to disturb him.Vivaan chuckled at that.

V-"Look at him.Started at this age.Hitting on girls.You brat.Lets go home now."

Pranush was disappointed.Having last look at baby.Who was just like him.It was true that he was growing for age.But he have hardly get to spend time.With babies of his age.Which didnt mad ehim gain much knowledge.About babies and how they behave.So he was more eager to see and see what baby does.He cried little bit.Getting out of hospital but soon he became normal.

V-"Mom I think.Your grandson already selected daughter in law for you."

Sh-"What.Sorry Varna I couldnt come today.Glad Vivaan went.How was Pranu?"

Var-"He cried today but was soon better.Seeing baby girl.It was surprising to see.Him so busy staring at her."

V-"Have to keep him safe.See Mom.Such brat."

Sh-"Like you.Varna you know when Vivaan was six years old.Somewhat of that age.He had this girl friend.Who was year or two.Younger to him.He used to play with her for hours.He even cried when she left.For another country."

V-"Mom you didnt had to embarass me."

Shivani cooed his cheeks.Which almost turned red along with ears.He adjusted his hair.Not missing smile on Varnas face.He saw her walking away with Pranush.Smiling and he would bet.See that smile on her face again and again.Lately he have been watching her.Becoming better each day.Than before and coming out of her shell.Interacting with people more.He wished day is near.When she will embrace new journey of her life.He still cant forget.How relief washed upon him that day.When he saw ring.Dumped on dustbin.He never felt this weird.Being happy when learning this.He was possessive about her.Being territorial too because she belonged here with him.With no one else.He was sure now.
