It was a breezy night.Sitting on swing and letting her.Have some own time.Varna felt calm.Relaxing after whole days work.Hustles and her son who wouldnt.Let her keep himself away from her.For minute.She smiled thinking about him.She had mug of coffee with her.Taking sips from steaming coffee which she brewed.Tastes like how she used to make.Life was going somewhere.She didnt knew exact destination.But she felt peace somewhat.She wasnt sure of her feelings.With each passing day she knew.It would not be easier to hold on to.Expectations from people around her.She only wanted to be at peace now.Away from thoughts and questions.From anyone specially Vivaan.She kept mug on her side in swing.Feeling current pass through her.As someones finger brushed hers.

V-"Gazing at stars.Without me.Too bad Varna Reddy."

She found him gazing at her.Like he has been doing.Pierce her through those weird looks.To her astonishment again.He picked her mug.Taking sip from there.He pursed her lips.

V-"Coffee without sugar.You need sweetness in life."

Var-"Now that you are here.It will be gone."

V-"Did you say something?"

Var-"Nothing.Why are you here now?Cant I sit alone for few minutes."

V-"Ofcourse you can.Its your house.Your place and your swing.Your husband.All yours."

Var-"Thanks.I dont think I need one."

V-"Thank you.I badly needed one."

He started having her coffee.Without sparing glances at her.She felt like hitting him hard.Rather herself.She maintained distance from him.Adjusting on swing.He could see her face turning red.Smirking at her from side.She looked breath taking.On pink loose kurta.With white pants.Her wavy long hair open.Wind making them hit her face.Lately she started applying small dots.On her forehead.Added to her beauty and elegance look.She could feel his gaze at her.Consciously she wanted to go away.When he held her hand.

V-"Stay.I wont bite."

Var-"Im sleepy.Its late and have to be up at early morning."

V-"Few minutes wont ruin your.Beauty sleep.Please stay?"

His voice sounded.Unlike commanding tone he had on her.It was more like pleading.She didnt knew why.It convinced her to sit back.He had coffee and kept mug down on grass.Slowly balanced swing with his long legs.He looked at sky.Then back at her.She was very conscious.Adjusting her hair every moment.

V-"We live under same roof Varna.Same room and yet.We barely talk for few minutes in day.How long will you stay silent.On this.We cant run away from this.Even if we want to."

Var-"Im not running away from anything.I have accepted reality.Stopped dreaming long back.Few minutes is real.Let it be.Some relationships are destined to be like this.Distance is destiny."

V-"I have opened my heart to you.I dont want distance to be our ultimate destination.If you believe on me."

Var-"I dont believe on anyone anymore.Not even myself.Its useless speaking over same stuff.I should leave."

V-"You dont take me as your husband.You hate me so much.So shall I accept this as my fate.Your hate for me."

Varna stopped shutting her eyes.Truth was that his words were.Piercing her heart.He thinks she hates him.She would let that be.Turning around she face him.She can see his eyes.Almost pleading her.

Var-"If you think so.It is."

They could hear thunders inside room.It was dark.Both were sleepless.Thinking about interaction few minutes ago.Vivaan knew her eyes had tears.When she was facing him.Still she refused to speak her heart.Varna wiped lone tear.Escaped her eye.How long will she fight herself.Every time he confronts her.She finds it hard to stop herself.Truth was she doesnt hate him.Hate vanished in some place.Long ago and now.She has locked her heart and feelings.Defying them for him.She begged night to pass.

Week passed in same manner.With nothing new.One morning all were having tea.When suddenly Reyaansh got call.He rushed somewhere without saying anything.Making everyone worried.Varna was making apple pudding for Pranush.When she heard car.Coming out from kitchen she saw.Reyaansh giving support to Vivaan.Who looked in pain.Reyaansh held his hand for support taking him to room.Her heart felt sudden fear.Without any thoughts she rushed to their room.

Doctor was called immediately.Shivani and Lata were present.They found Varna standing there.In silence.Her eyes were stuck to Vivaan.Shivani went to her and kept hand on her shoulder.She didnt hear anyone at moment.

S-"Doctor is he alright.Why this pain suddenly.He was fine when he left for office."

V-"Mom dont panic.Im fine.Just little pain."

S-"Vivaan stop being so careless now.If it was little pain.You wouldnt have collapsed in office."

R-"When I reached there.He was in real pain.His face went all red."

V-"Rey stop giving description now.Doctor tell them Im alright."

He was in bad pain.He didnt wanted his family to know.It was visible from his face.How he was feeling.From few days he felt.Sudden pain on back.Never paid much attention.Today it worsened while he was working.Pain wouldnt lessen.

D-"I have given him an injection.Pain would be less for some time.Did he had any injury on back?"

R-"Yes he had accident few months ago.But he was cured.Reports came well."

D-"I have to do few more tests.Maybe it left sprain on his back.Which wasnt noticed or felt then.Lets see.Vivaan boy you need to take care.Are you putting strain on your back?Like uncomfortable sleeping position."

Varnas eyes shot up.With mention of it.Vivaan for second looked at her.Then he knew he didnt wanted.Any attention on this.He covered it up with good words.Till everyone left room except her.

S-"Varna Im bringing hot water bag for him.Will see what other medicines.Doctor give.Here this oil.Doctor has asked to give him massage twice day with this."

She stood with bottle on hand.Near door.Vivaan was struggling to move on bed.He winced in pain.Within seconds he found her on his side.She helped him to settle comfortably.With his back supported by pillow.He was in pain but could gaze at her.With his eyes comforted.Having her beside him.She never saw him this weak in pain.Even during accident.He looked brave enough.

Var-"I will bring water for you.Is it paining?"

V-"No.Im in mood to joke with everyone."

Var-"I just asked.No need to give rude replies."

V-"You see now.How it feels.When you do that to people.Who are yours."

Both shared moment of eye lock.Interrupted by knock on door.Helper gave medicines to Varna.Passing Shivanis message to her.Doctor has asked to give Vivaan massage.With applying oil on back.This needed to be done now.He left with Vivaan uncomfortable in pain.He heard and was aware.About Varnas dilemma.

V-"Give it to me.No need to think for whole life.I will help myself."

Var-"It needs to be applied on your back.How will you."

V-"Thats up to me.Mom thinks you are my wife.You can do this.But she doesnt know.That you are still not sure.Who am I.To you."

Varna was chopping vegetables.Her mind was occupied somewhere else.In his thoughts.His words.They clearly showed anger.Disappointment towards her.She heard Shivani.Instructing helper to make soup for Vivaan.He was advised rest by doctor.While it seemed something serious.Back pain issue.From inside she felt guilty.Bad for him.She couldnt see him in pain.Was she reason for this.He have been sleeping on carpet.Taking her place.She has suffered this kind of pain.Knowing how difficult it is.He must be feeling same.He never mentioned about pain.While stayed there sleeping.Only for her.

S-"Varna.Are you alright?Dont worry.He will be fine.He is very stubborn.Doesnt listen to anyone.Must have worked late at nights.Causing pain.I have to take your Dad.Doctor today.I know you will take good care.Of Vivaan.Make sure he takes medicines and rest."

She knew what she had to do.She made soup herself.Way he likes.Along with Pranushs lunch.After wrapping up work.She fed Pranush.While he was taking his nap.It was Vivaans turn now.Making face looking at soup.

V-"Didnt you find any other way.Torture me.I wont have this.Looks tasteless."

Var-"Doctor has asked you.To have this.You have to take medicines too."

V-"I wont have this.Better have water with medicines."

Shivani was right.He was like Pranush only.She sat there.Making him look at her.She took spoon.Taking it near his mouth.Not much to her surprise.He started having it.While she was making him have soup.She could feel him staring at her all time.He finished all soup.Then she gave him medicines.He felt bit better.

V-"Where is Pranu.Didnt come to see me."

Var-"He is with Lata aththai.Sleeping.You take rest now."

V-"Varna.Thanks."

Var-"For what?"

V-"I know how painful.Its for you.To do all this for me.Mom must have asked you.To do all this.I know.Hate you have for me.Keeping it aside.Doing all this for me.Must be difficult for you."

She shut her eyes.As if swallowing his harsh words.He said them intentionally.Stressing each word.So that it reaches her.He tried to read her face.She left room like that.He rested his head.On pillow playing with his fingers.

V-"No matter how hard you try.Run away from me.From your own feelings.I will catch you.See it for yourself.Good timing for my pain.But it hurts."

At night Shivani was making him have dinner.Varna did same with Pranush.Both boys gave hard time.But Pranush winning game.Finishing off his food on time.Varna cleaned him.Getting him ready for sleep.He wanted to go to Vivaan.Not getting why he was pampered by Shivani.Like that.He was making loud noises.Being shushed by Varna.

S-"Vivaan see your son.Finished his dinner before you.Stop cribbing now."

V-"Even he got something better to eat.Than me.Mom this tastes bad."

S-"It doesnt.Varna made it for you.from tomorrow you can have light meals.But today this is must.Varna are you sure.You can manage Pranush for night?You need to take care of Vivaan too."

Var-"Dont worry.I will manage.He cant sleep without me.Will be fussy in morning if doesnt sleep."

S-"Fine then.You handle both babies now.Vivaan take your medicines and.What is this.Bottle is still capped.Varna didnt I tell you.He needs massage twice.Its still unopened."

V-"Mom actually.I told her not to do it.Im scared.What if it pains more."

S-"God Vivaan.Look at this boy.Varna make sure you do it now.Its more important than medicine.If you need anything.Call us okay."

As soon as Shivani left.Varna took breath of relief.She was badly caught in situation.Alas he saved her.Her eyes fell on bottle.It was necessary.At moment for him.She saw Vivaan making Pranush sleep on his stomach.She took him and shifted to his crib.Kissing him for night.

V-"Give oil to me.I will manage."

She took bottle.In her hands.Sweating and shivering.He saw all that and shake his head.

Var-"I will do this."

V-"Sorry?Are you sure.Its not something to strangle me.Or poison.Need to apply this on my back."

He knew she felt worse.At his words.But doesnt she do same with him.She was on verge of tears.He then shifted on bed.She dimmed lights of room.He unbuttoned his shirt.Making his bare back visible to her.She shivered and went numb from inside.With view.He winced in little pain.Opening his eyes.Sensing her discomfort.He knew she wont be able to do this.Such things meant too far.In their relationship.He wouldnt force her ever.They may take time.He will give.

V-"Varna its alright.Give it to me.I will manage.I dont want to give.More reasons to you.Hate me.Who knows.If you blame me tomorrow again.Saying I did this deliberately.Take advantage of this chance.Make you do this."

Topic was dropped.As lights were switched off.Pranush was on crib today.With Vivaan and Varna on same bed.In between partition drawn with number of pillows in line.Vivaan thought how she would.Use them as her weapon.In case his hand accidentally touches her.In sleep.He didnt knew when sleep took over him.

Around midnight he felt sensation.Along with light pain on his back.Medicines were having effect on him.He tried opening his eyes but couldnt.With his efforts he failed.He felt something cold touching his back.He realized he was on his bed.Sleeping on his front.He freaked out seeing lights dimmed.Before he could sense much.He turned around to find unexpected.More like shock hit him.Varna was sitting there.With scared look caught red handed.She didnt meet his eyes.He wasnt wearing his shirt.With messy hair and looking at her.With almost half shut eyes.

V-"What are you.You wont let me sleep also.Invading my dream.Like reality.I know you wont do this still.Im expecting you to do this.Im badly dreaming."

Varna bit her lip.Finding his behavior weird.She was relieved to see he was under sedatives.Believing this to be dream.She tried getting up.Massage was almost done.To her relief.She felt tug at her hand.He wasnt in full sense.Which made him lose his hold on her.She landed on top of him.On bed.He winced in pain while she.Made face trying to register what happened.Her hands rested on his bare torso.He opened his eyes.To see most beautiful sight in front of him.Varnas hair all scattered.Over him and her face.It looked heavenly without any make up.She was beautiful.He wished he wouldnt do.Anything that would mean crossing limit.If he was in effect of sedatives.

Varna frowned deeper.As her hair was in mess.Trying to get up from his grip.Her eyes fell on him.He was smiling sheepishly.Staring at her and then shut his eyes.More she tried getting up.He tightened his hold around her.She knew she had no way.She whispered barely audible in room.

Var-"Let me go.What are you doing."

V-"This is only thing.You ask always.Leave me.Leave me and what are you doing.Dont you have feelings.Like if person can feel anything.For other person.His emotions and heart.Didnt you ever.Feel attached to anyone.Always on with your record.Leave leave."

Varna realized he was under effect.Of medicines.This wasnt way she would give in.She frowned trying to get up.More he would tighten his grip.He was saying God knows what.While she was tired of fighting.With this strong man.

V-"Look at me.Im innocent man.With son.Cant you have mercy on me?Whole day and even night.You are after me.Cant think of anything.Without you.You love torturing me."

Var-"You need to sleep.Pain has gotten on your head."

He suddenly brought her.Face too closer to his.Making her shiver.She could feel his eyes on her lips.He removed her hair.Falling on her forehead.She shut her eyes.Feeling his touch.Burning her skin.This shouldnt be happening.Something was shouting from inside her.His thumb traced her lower lip.Before anything could happen.She freed herself from his grip.Running away to washroom.Vivaan under effect of sedatives.Felt his head heavy.He couldnt react in moment.Couldnt understand anything.Going into land of sleep again.

She washed her face with cold water.It still burnt with his touch.She let cold water touch.Again and again to wipe off.His touch.It wasnt happening.She was scared.Too tired to think of whatever happening.This closeness was like burning in fire for her.She shivered thinking about close proximity.She wont let this happen.Her eyes shifted to him.On bed.She knew another night will be gone sleepless.

This is short update.Compared to other chapters.But have written this  month ago.To many asking why I wasnt updating.Im on good health.I wanted to quit writing.For obvious reasons.Moving on from Pranushka.It doesnt give me any feels.They are going to happen in real :( From time I watched them on screen.I loved them together.Whatever I have written till now.Its possible because I imagined them.Dont know whats in future.But my readers have given me so much love.I cant do this to them.Its better if I stay heart broken.
