The car drive started out tense, but soon, Richard feel asleep.

When Richard came to, Bruce was shacking his shoulder.

"Hey there Sleepy Bug, come on, wakey wakey." Bruce said.

Richard whined and moved the other way.

"Come on don't be like that! It's 6:00 pm. We need to eat something. We won't get back until 10:00 pm." Bruce informed Dick.

"Uhhh. Fiiiine. I'm up!" Richard said and sat up.

"Okay, come on. Look what I found us! A Big Belly Burger!" Bruce smiled.

"Big Belly Burger?" Richard was wide awake. 

"Yep!" Bruce smirked.

Dick undid his seat-belt and leaped out of the car.  

Bruce laughed at Richard's reaction.

"Come on Dickie!" Bruce smiled.

Inside, Bruce and Richard sat down and started to eat the burgers and fries they ordered. 

"So, are you going to tell me how school is?" Bruce asked.

Richard stopped drinking his soda.

"I'm still mad at you." Dick said.

"Richard, look, I'm trying here! I know you didn't like it, but I'm trying to help you." Bruce said.

Richard glared as he took a bite of his burger.

"I know I put you in a bad situation, but I'm trying to help you become better. The people at that school can teach you things I can't. I hate to admit it, but Richard you've surpassed me. There's nothing left that I can teach you." Bruce said.

"You didn't leave me there because you didn't want me any more?" Richard asked in shock.

"What? No! Why would I do that?" Bruce asked.

"You wouldn't be the first." Richard said.

"What? Dickie what happened?" Bruce asked. 

"Before I came to live with you and Alfred, I was in the foster system. And one of the people who trialed me decided that I wasn't worth it. So they dropped me off somewhere and never came back. I had to walk back to the Detention Center again." Richard whispered.

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" Bruce asked.

"Why didn't you tell me I was leaving?" Richard shot back.

"I wanted it to be a surprise! I thought that you'd be happy to be around other heroes and teens."Bruce said.

"Well, it backfired." Richard said.

"So I heard. You got into a fight with your Defense and Attack Tactics teacher. Really?" Bruce asked.

Richard looked down in embarrassment as he answered "Yes." 

Bruce laughed loudly, "Really? Only you Richard, only YOU!" 

Richard blushed even more.

After a while Bruce calmed down, "Okay, we need to get going before Alfred freaks." 

Richard silently nodded and followed Bruce back to the car.

When Bruce and Richard got back to Wayne Manor, Alfred was waiting for them.

"Welcome home Master Richard!" Alfred smiled and hugged him.

"Hey Alfie!" Richard smiled.

"Hey, do you mind if I head to bed now? It's been a long day." Richard said.

"Of course! Go have a good nights sleep Master Richard. I shall see you in the morning." Alfred said and waved him off.

"Thanks Alfred." Richard said.

Richard went up to his bedroom and dropped onto his bed.

He fell asleep instantly.
