I woke up to the smell of toast, as usual, and then it impacted me. 

"PINE!" I screamed, "Aaron! quiet it down up there!" my mother yelled back. I sighed and shoved my stepbrother off me, "hahaha you should have seen your face!" Pine teased "whatever. I got up and brushed myself off going downstairs to get some of that toast. I put one in my mouth and went outside. 

Pine followed, "Pine? common let's go around the block" Pine nodded and hopped in front of me and trudged his way to the park. Pine, you stay there I will be right back." He nodded and stayed there as I left.

was that fire in the distance?

It grew closer. Finally, I can hear screaming, what the... I  didn't have time to think a stampede of other nature sparks from our village came rushing past me. I grabbed Pine by the arm and rushed to my house, I burst inside and my stepdad slid a backpack on me and pine. "Why are you giving us backpacks?" Pine wailed "what's going on!?!?!" he cried.

Mom came up to us and gently said "We will be safe" lie. She won't be safe. "you guys get as far away from this village as you can. Go to Phandome Academy, go to the principal, tell her that the Darkmagic sparks are here." She rushed to say this practically shoving us out the door.

Pine started to cry, as we went outside there was fire, everywhere... I gave my hug to them, probably my last hug. Pine and I ran as fast as we could, into the woods, far away.
