The quiet afternoon was interrupted by the cries for help coming from a 3 year old, borrower girl falling from the top of the underground opening. They didn't last long before the girl came in contact with the soft pile pile of bright yellow flowers below.
At first, the child was shaken and terrified, tears running down her face as she looked around. She was unsure of where she had fallen from or where she was now, but the tears didn't last long when her stomach growled, turning her attention to her hunger.
Still a bit scared and shaken, the little girl was on her way through the dark passageways, tunnels, and soon across cold, snowy ground. Even though the 3 year old was tired and weary, hungry and afraid she continued on, having small hope that she'd find someone out there or even something for her to eat.
It wasn't long before the toddler saw a small wooden shack with a label on front. Of course.. she couldn't read quite yet, but to her it looked like a small house. Something that could at least give her shelter.
Except, once she was close enough to it, she noticed it was occupied by a sleeping creature made of bones, and at first she wasn't sure if it was asleep or just not alive considering it was a skeleton.. Regardless, she could smell food coming from the creature's hoodie pocket.
All the previous fear was gone as well as the tiredness, and she quickly made her way up to the hoodie pocket, scrambling inside of it to see a hot dog. She didn't question why it was in the pocket.. instead she just began to eat the bread and hot dog with ease.
Without the girl noticing, the sleeping skeleton began to stir. It wasn't long before it noticed that something was in it's pocket and reached one of its bony hands into it. He felt around, taken aback by the giggle he heard in response.
It gently wrapped around the small girl and pulled her out of the pocket to be face to face with a skeleton boy staring at her with a confused look on his face.
"Where did you come from..?" He asked, cupping his hands around the girl for better support.
"Come from.?" The girl tilted her head a bit, the curls on her head bouncing a bit.
"Yes.. where did you come from?" The skeleton asked again, partially smiling even though he was concerned.
"Sky.. I came from sky!" The little borrower giggled, a bright smile on her face.
"Wait.. The sky?! Are you hurt at all??" His concern grew, and he quickly yet gently began to look for any injuries on the little toddler, getting a fit of giggles in response. After a moment, he stopped with a sigh of relief, unable to find any injuries.
"You must have fallen down from the mountain.." The skeleton hesitated, "What's your name.? My name is Sans."
"Sans..?" The girl asked, tilting her head once again in curiosity. The skeleton boy smiled and nodded.
"Yes, my name is Sans. What's your name?"
The girl was silent for a moment, looking as though she was in a deep thought.
"I dunno?" She remarked, as she shrugged her shoulders.
Sans seemed a bit taken aback by the fact that the borrower child didn't have or couldn't remember her name.
"Well.. I guess I'll call you.."
He then took notice of the girl's red curly hair, freckled face and bright blue eyes, then smiled.
  "I'll call you Rose."

Some time passed after that, as Sans brought Rose back to his home to get her out of the cold and to see if she needed anything else to eat.
He held Rose close to his chest as he made his way inside to the kitchen where he met Papyrus attempting to make spaghetti once again.
"Back so soon?" Papyrus asked, a questioning look on his face.
"Yea.. my nap kind of got interrupted." Sans responded with a slight laugh in his voice.
  "By who?"
Without saying a word to Papyrus' question, Sans revealed the small toddler in his hand for his brother to see before recovering her. Rose was dozing off, tired from all the adventure of the day.
"Ahh.. I see. Well, would you like to give her some of my spaghetti?" Papyrus asked, stirring the pot once more. Sans just shook his head slightly, getting a bit of butterscotch pie from the fridge.
"Maybe tomorrow. I don't think she's too hungry anymore." Sans remarked as he headed out of the room. "Thanks though."
Sans then made his way to his room, being quiet as he entered. After a little bit, he had successfully made a smaller bed for Rose to sleep in where he gently laid the toddler down on, covering her up with a blanket to tuck her in.
The little girl, half awake, turned to Sans with a smile on her face.
"Thank you.. Sans" She muttered, a yawn escaping as she closed her eyes.
  "You're welcome, Rose."
