Eliot's POV

We finally made it to Susan's place, a cozy wood cottage a little ways away from the center of town. It wasn't too far but far enough for a quiet serene view. She showed me to a small room where I can set up my computer and my luggage. I would be sleeping here for the night then leave first thing in the morning. I started adding small notes to my journal that I would later use for my blog. I wrote about the atmosphere of the place as well as my hypothesis.

...

I woke up out of my sleep, I fell asleep on my computer, 'dammit.' I stretched, it wasn't the first time I have done this, but I really wish I hadn't as I need all the sleep I can get before my trip. I looked at the clock, 6:35 am, I rubbed my eyes and stepped away from the desk. Once I opened my door the smell of fresh coffee hit my nostrils. I followed the smell into the kitchen and Susan smiled once she saw me. "Smelled the coffee didn't yea?" I nodded, and she poured me a cup setting it on the table so I sat down.

We sat in silence and I quickly downed my cup, the warm liquid will help my journey up the chilly mountain. I started to stand before Susan motioned for me to sit down again. "I just wanted to tell you some things before you leave." I scooted the chair closer to her, "Alright." She didn't make eye contact with me, "I want you to be extremely careful out there, not because there is a possibility of a giant. I know it is easy to get lost in those woods, and who knows what is out there. Just be safe." I smiled, "I will do my best."

I grabbed my bag and packed some water as well as several granola boxes Susan gave me. I waved as I headed out at 7:10 am, I went down a trail behind her house and began my long journey.

??? POV

I had eyes all over the forest, I watched from above, sometimes I would visit the townspeople, but only at night. On my late night visit I smelled someone new, I instantly disappeared back into the woods. The scent of the newcomer was making it difficult for me to stay in my smaller form. I went to my home and decided to lay down, I sneezed and it was much louder than expected. 'fuck.'

Eliot's POV

I wasn't that far down the trail when a loud sound came from the mountain. It shook the ground and I had to grab a tree to not fall. "I guess I should head towards that." I gulped as that could only mean one thing.. I was heading in the direction of the giant. I made it to the base of the mountain, I hadn't heard anymore noise, but there was a light wind that led me to where I am now.

I pulled out my climbing gear and started to scale the mountain, it was cold and hard to see things. The fog was very dense and I had to extremely careful on my hand placements. I left early in the morning but based on the way the sun was going down it took me hours to get to the mountain. The temperatures lowered as the sun set, I quickly realized that it was a mistake to not set up camp earlier. I didn't stop however I continued up the mountain getting more and more tired as time went on.

I made my way to a ledge that was more so to the top of the mountain than the bottom. I decided that was where I should try and sleep, I pulled out a lighter and used it to keep my hands warm. I realized that I simple wasn't prepared for the cold but I pulled out my thick sleeping bag and did my best to stay warm.

...

It was cold, but only for so long, I felt a strange warmness come over me. Wait. Was the wind warm? I opened my eyes and could feel as if something was staring at me. When I rolled over I screamed as I was met with yellow eyes. Well, more so an entire face, the eyes I just saw first as they were scanning my entire body. The face held an expression of worry, and a deep rumble as well as the warm wind rushed over me. "Are you cold?"  Was.. was he talking to me? All I could manage was a gasp and then a shiver as coldness stripped all my heat.

I watched as the giant frowned and a large pale hand reached for me. At that moment I was so cold I didn't have the energy to run. As the hand came closer I could feel the heat coming from it and I instinctively leaned closer even though in my mind I wanted to run. The hand wrapped itself around me and I felt myself being lifted off the ledge. I closed my eyes and felt myself being lightly held against what felt like fabric. After hearing a few thumps I quickly deduced that I was near the giant's chest. I didn't complain as the warmth took over my originally cold body. I could feel the giant walking somewhere but the warmth kept lulling me to sleep before I could worry.
