Chapter 32 [Celean]

Of course, stealing anything was easier said than done. Neither of them knew what they were doing...and any hopes of relying on Jin who seemed to be good at everything was ignored. It turned out that Jin was just a talented fighter, and his talent did not cross over into theft...Adam guessed that was probably a good thing.

The four of them, Ross, Barney, Jin, and Adam, now needed a new plan of action in order to find out any information.

"Before we try to break any rules, I should just ask, are we all sure we want to do this. There honestly is no guarantee that if Adam sees anything that it will actually be useful," Jin said.

"Trues, buts maybes we cans dos lots of goods if we dos this."

"Ross? What do you think, I'm ready to do anything," Adam looked to Ross.

Ross didn't answer.

"Ross?"

"Huh?" Ross' tail perked up and Ross looked over at Adam with a dazed and confused expression, "S-sorry. I think...I need to sit this out. A lot is on my mind right now...Jason is missing you know..."

"No that's fine," Jin comforted, "We can make do with just the three of us--so long as we are all sure."

"I'm cools."

"Same."

There was one thing that bothered Adam however. He was only now coming to the realization, but he only saw the memories of Yu, because Jin had touched the sword. And when he thought back, that was the same with Seto when Adam touched the staff while Seto held it. Which meant...if he wanted to see Ty's memories, he needed to have Ty touch whatever object he touched...but there was one flaw. The book Seto owned, he saw something when he touched that, but he was the only one around at that time. Lastly, Adam wasn't even sure why this happened. It never happened before coming here, did it have something to do with the amulet? Did his first death, which he should remember should not even be possible because he was a human rank, act as some sort of stimulate to some weird gift--curse?

He wouldn't know. He wasn't some genius like Jason, or sorcerer like Seto. He was just Adam, a ridiculous screw-up.

"So are we agreed?"

Adam looked up, "W-wait, sorry, could you go over the plan again?" He forgot they were all planning on how to steal Ty's stuff.

"Alright, this is the last time...I swear you and Barney have hearing problems," Jin chuckled.

"Heys! I do nots!"

"Uh, huh, sure you don't."

"I heards everythings, I was just testings yous!"

Adam snorted at the squabble. He looked back over at Ross who had moved to his bunk. He was lying down with his body facing the wall and his tail hung limply off the side. He hoped for Ross' sake that Jason lived and would return to the AHD. Adam couldn't bear watching Ross at such a loss.

It was evening by the time the three of them left the dorm and climbed up the cliff. The surface of the AHD was still bustling with uneasy energy.

"Look, the nurses are leaving, this is good," Jin pointed, "Let's go now."

Truth be told, they all sucked at planning. After listening to Jin tell their plan, it was simply sneak in and hope not to get caught. But since all the nurses and doctors left they should be fine now.

"Theys tossed his cloaks on the floors, rights?" Barney looked back at Adam as the three of them headed over.

"Yeah, we just need to go in and grab it," as they reached the door they were about to enter when the door opened by itself a woman stepped out. Adam recognized her as Dr. Sparklez, the one who assisted Jason in the experiment that Adam was a part of on the first day here.

"Excuse me, just what are you three doing outside this door?" Adam gulped. They weren't expecting anyone to still be inside.

"Uh...uh, well..." Adam trailed off, he looked to Jin for help.

"Tylers tolds Adams to pick up Ty's things. But Adams didn't wants to go in alones," Barney said before Jin could even think of anything.

Dr. Sparklez nodded, "Well I can't blame you there. Make it quick, and don't mess with the patient. He is dangerous."

"Yes ma'am!" Adam was quick to tighten up his posture in fear of some sort of reprimanding. Though such actions may have confused his friends, Adam did not forget that this woman also had a hand to play in him getting thrown off the side of a cliff and also didn't bat an eye when it happened. Such a thing sort of frightened Adam.

"Good, carry on," Adam watched her leave and breathed a sigh of relief.

"That felt too close," Jin said.

"You're telling me..." Adam loosened up.

Jin nodded at everyone and pushed open the door, the a room opened up to be dimly lit. Only enough light that Adam could see Ty's unconscious form on one of the beds and the surrounding machines he was hooked too. Plus his cloak and headphones piled on the ground.

The three of them pushed through the door and closed it behind them, the soft whirring of a machine was the only noise between them.

"G-guys..." Adam whispered.

"What?" Jin answered

"There's something I'm not sure about...it's that when I saw the past of Jin's sword hilt, I only saw it after you touched it. So I'm thinking I'll only see something if I make Ty...touch it."

"Let's...hope that is not the case, getting close to Ty might be bad..." Jin answered.

"Yeahs, I'lls grabs the stuffs" There was movement. Barney kept walking towards the pile of Ty's things.

"B-Barney, hold on, stop for a moment," Adam took a step forward, his body stiffened when he saw movement again. His eyes zeroed in on Ty, there was a quiet rumble in the air.

"Sh-shit, I didn't bring my sword," Jin stuttered. His hand had instinctively moved to his side but grasped only empty air.

"What's wrongs?" Barney turned his back to Ty," It's just Ty's rolling overs. He's sounds asleeps, no worries."

Adam's breath hitched as he saw the faintest red glow in Ty's direction. The sense of being watched was overpowering and he realized that the glow was from Ty's eyes, "B-Barney...run--RUN!"

Barney titled his head, he turned to look back at Ty and noticed his eyes open. Ty took this moment to grumble, he sat up slowly, "Damn...damn..."

Barney took several steps back but tripped over Ty's belongs, "Oof!"

"Barney--" Jin held back Adam as he tried to rush to Barney.

Ty winced in pain but pried out the needles on him.

"Stupid sorcerer..." Ty's eyes flickered over to Barney and then to Jin and Adam. His eyes settled on Adam and narrowed, "You..."

"What do you know, tell me and I'll consider letting you all go..." Barney pushed himself back but Ty snapped, "Don't move."

"We can...we can scream--" Jin stated.

"I'll kill the lizard before you can."

"He'll...he'll respawn, you can't do anything," Adam watched Jin tremble. His hand tightened on Adam's shoulder till the knuckles turned white. It surprised Adam, this guy who was naturally skilled and strong trembled. He could hardly imagine it.

Ty stayed silent before glancing over at Adam, "Then the human, I'll kill him. He won't respawn, not if I tear that clunky necklace from his neck."

"Y--"

Ty stood up, "I'm not playing games, quit stalling," Ty's fist tightened into a ball by his side.

"W-wait, listen. Please, just hear us out," Adam started, maybe Adam wouldn't even need Ty's cloak or headphones. Maybe just maybe... Jin looked at him like he was crazy.

"What are you doing?" Jin whispered.

"Trust me," Adam smiled. Honestly he prayed this worked.

"We'll tell you what we know, just tell us--me something in return--"

"Ares yous crazys! Yous cant's do thats Adam!" Barney looked back at Adam, "Givings in is a signs of weakness!"

"Trust me!" Adam yelled over Barney, he pulled away from Jin's hold on his shoulder and took a step in Ty's direction.

Ty narrowed his eyes and pulled his lips into a tight frown before saying, "Don't try anything stupid," he titled his head slightly, "I'm listening."

Adam gulped, he cast a glance towards Jin and offered a shaky smile. Jin could hardly move and watched Adam in worry.

"If I tell you what I know, I want you to tell me what are Celenians...I keep hearing the name, but I don't know who or what they are."

Ty snorted and winced, "That's because we were erased and forced to live in the shadows. Because of Rekrium's greed for power they forced war over something they could never have. A power unattainable."

"What power?"

"Tell me something I want to know, don't try to pull information from me without returning the favor."

"Right..." Adam shifted his legs, "There was a baby...In the end. He had white hair, purple eyes...spewed fire?"

"And, how did you get him, where is he."

"Adams, what ares yous doings?"

"Let Barney go to Jin and I'll tell you more."

"Come here and I'll let him."

Adam nodded, "Adam!" Jin reached out to Adam, but Adam slapped away Jin's hand

"Jin shut up, I...I know what I'm doing," Adam forced the tremble in his voice away and did his best to stand tall and firm despite the uncertainties of the situation.

Adam took slow and careful steps towards Ty and when he was literally 2 feet away, Ty gestured for Barney to get up and move towards Jin.

"I hopes yous knows what you ares doings," Barney muttered before walking towards Jin.

Adam hoped so too, "It was Seto who handed me the baby, he wrapped it in his cloak and told me not to look. Of course when the baby started moving I wanted to know why--how does a baby even exist in the End. I thought it was filled with monsters...like the Endermen."

"Why are you asking so many questions, why does any of this matter to you."

"Because I don't know what to think any more... I'm just some dumb Human Rank who has been told his whole life to settle down quietly and let others do the dangerous work...but I didn't want to do that. Maybe it surprises you, but I looked up to you. I thought you were the greatest man alive who risked his life to protect people. You were strong, respected, and heroic, Everything I wished for and now everything I thought has been torn to shreds. You're an Ender, Jason...he casually threw my life at your feet like a monster. The people who I respected changed in a minute before my eyes."

A wave of silence passed over all of them, "I don't know where they baby was taken exactly, I don't understand why there is a baby in the End or even how you are an Ender. You look human to me. I just know I saw Jason and Seto head in the direction of the castle after the mission. My guess he's near the castle...but what are you going to do with that information, are you going to kill someone again?"

"I'm only required to bring him home by any means necessary. If killing isn't necessary then I won't do it."

"Fine..."

Ty's hard gaze softened slightly, "Enders were once human...10,000 years ago Our queen Celeste sacrificed her life and used her magic to transform both the kingdom and the people into what we are now. It was the only way to save our fallen kingdom from perishing in the void--"

"Bull...shit." From behind Adam came a voice. A voice that was not Barney's and not Jin's. No...Adam recognized it as Seto's voice.

Whoa dang, Seto back at it again with interrupting the best moments. What will happen now that he has appeared, again?
