Hearing the footsteps, Gidget quickly hid. She didn't know what was coming but she knew she could be easily seen with her brilliant white fur. Ducking underneath the bush, she turned her gaze towards the road just as a strange creature came into view.

Short term memory loss or not, Gidget knew for a fact she had never seen a creature like this before. She at first thought it was a big cat, like one Max called a cheetah due to the tawny spotted fur and the striped tail. But it had a hawk-like head and taloned forepaws. Heck, it even had wings! The creature was also bigger than Gidget and seemed deadly. Frightened, she crouched lower as she watched the strange animal walk around in circles at the road intersection.

A car horn blared.

Out of the corner of her eye, Gidget saw an RV zooming down the road and it was approaching the intersection fast. The strange animal froze, frightened. Knowing it could wind up injured, Gidget bravely leapt out of her hiding spot and crashed into the creature, knocking him and herself off the road as the RV raced by.

Laying dazed within the undergrowth, Gidget groaned quietly. Pulling herself up to her feet, the Pomeranian shook some leaves out of her fur before she turned her attention to the strange creature she saved. It was at this moment she realized the poor thing was hyperventilating. "Oh my goodness, are you okay sir?" she yipped, gently shaking his shoulder. She was sure the hybrid animal was a male. Noticing a bloody notch in the creature's right ear, she gasped, "Your ear! It's bleeding!"

"I need to get to him," the creature rasped, getting up on shaky legs. He could barely stand. "Whoa, hold on there," Gidget spoke, trying to get him to sit back down, "You need medical help by the looks of things." Refusing to sit, the hybrid animal stumbled slightly as he wheezed, "I have to get him, I need to find that vehicle."

"Vehicle? Was it a big white one with an open back? A truck?" Gidget asked, an image flashing in her head. Was this a memory? Was she remembering something for once? Was this perhaps her destiny? "Yes, yes it was! You saw it?" the strange creature cried, a hint of hope in his voice. Nodding her head, Gidget answered, "Yeah! I saw that truck pull up at the intersection and go straight through. Pretty sure it was supposed to stop first but who knows." Tilting her head to one side, the Pomeranian asked politely, "Do you want me to show you where exactly?"

"Yes please! It's urgent!" the strange animal exclaimed. Smiling, Gidget held her paw out as she stated, "Hi, I'm Gidget." The hybrid animal flicked his striped tail and cried, "Come on! I said it was urgent!" Snapping back into reality, the fluffy white Pomeranian jumped into action as she barked, "Right! This way! Come on, follow me! It went this way!" The small dog ran alongside the road. Following close behind, the strange creature called, "Thank you so much!"

"No problem!"
