The embrace of death was almost sweet... but it slowly drifted away as I could feel a sense of warmth next to me. I didn't know where we were... but I just hoped it was someplace warm... where I could at least cling to the little life I had left.

I didn't tell Link the ice was slowly draining my energy because I didn't want us to get set back because of simple thing like that. Link had a quest to complete and I didn't want to be in the way of it... just because of me.

The darkness around me soon turn in a cold wetness. Confusion crawled into my brain as I finally opened my eyes to see. I was on a shore with an endless ocean in front of me. An odd tuning of music was being played as I turned my head to see what it was.

It was a Zora, but a lot skinnier and playing a fish skeleton like a guitar. The music jumbled between soft to jazz music, but still pretty good for a Zora. I stood up, the sand making it hard a bit, but I walked close to the spirit.

There was a blue light energy wave over the Zora as he continued to jam out to his music. "Oh baby! You're just in time to hear my music!"

"Ummm... I'm sorry... but who are you?"

He suddenly stopped play, flashing me a kind smile. "The name is Mikau, the legendary guitarist of the famous Indigo-Go's. I'm the best player in the group, but sadly it came to an end when I tried to bring back the eggs..."

"What happened...?"

A look of sorrow briefly passed over his face, tuning the guitar into a sad slow strum. "The lead singer in my band laid some eggs and were taken away by pirates. But with the Hero of Time's help she was able to have her eggs back. I am grateful my death wasn't in vain."

"That's so sad... but I'm glad she got her eggs back."

For a second a small light glowed around his face. "Me too."

"But," I continued, "what am I doing here?"

"Oh right! Since you can't talk to Shade anymore you'll be able to talk to us now! We'll tell you were to go for your quest of the mirror shards. It's as simple as that!"

"Really?!" I felt so happy at the moment, nothing could ever break that bubble. "Where is the second one then?"

"In the forest grove where the hero pulled out the sword of evils bane."

"Huh? But how? There's nothing there that can lead to a temple."

"Ahh but that is where you are wrong, goddess." He sat down on the soft cold sand, spreading perfectly around under him. "Before the time lines split the hero was put to sleep for seven years. The temple is the light temple, the temple hidden until the right hero came to take it for himself."

"How do you know so much about this?"

He laughed and played a b-note, "Because we're connected to Shade! Not in soul, but in powers. Shade was the original Hero of Time. But sadly... he soon grew forgotten about over time..."

I winced. The reason was because of me. "I wonder if Shade will ever forgive me. I don't know why I made everyone forget about Shade... but I promise to make it up too him!"

"Don't worry about it!" He stood up, the ocean's mist swirling around us. Mikau was slowly disappearing. "Shade is still the same kindhearted hero he once was. He'll forgive you. If not for your powers back then Shade would have been long gone! The land of Termina, and possibly Hyrule, would have been wiped out if not for you!"

"Wait!" I scream through the mist, "Tell me! What happened to me as a goddess?!"

"You must... figure that... on your... own quest..."

Just then, the mist swallowed me up whole and had me fall into the light...

I could feel my soul slowly returning to my body. It was sluggish and cold still... but warming up slowly. I opened up my eyes to find I was inside a huge bedroom. The bed was huge and elegant along with the beautiful red carpet on the ground.

I groaned at the pain in my head, and at that moment the rushing of footsteps came by my side. It was Link. It looked like he was just done with a battle because the left side of his face was bloody.

"Thanks the goddesses, you're awake..."

He hugged me close to his chest. I greedily hugged him back for his warm, soaking it in as I hummed at the smell of freshly fall snow on his tunic. He pulled back and I looked up into his blue hylian eyes. "How long was I out?"

"Well it almost took me a day to find anything in his place so a day at most."

"Oh..." I looked down in shame, trying not to let him see the tears. "Sorry if I held us back..."

He shook his head. "You're not holding us back. I'm just glad that fire kept you alive while I explored the mansion. You have no idea how scared I was when I felt your heat disappearing from my touch."

"I tried my best... but I guess my best wasn't good enough."

"Knock it off." He sat down with me. The plush bed lean slightly with his weight. "Stop doing this too yourself. The winter cold was even cold for me, but you were in it longer than me, so stop blaming yourself for something your body was at its limit for."

The kindness from Link was something so pure and honest to keep... I wonder if there were any more people like him out in the world. If there wasn't, then I caught the lucky catch. A real smile spread across my face, helping the pinks in my cheeks heat myself slowly. "Thank you, Link. It's great to know I have someone like you as a friend."

Link smiled back and covered the blankets over me. "Get some rest. The two yetis here yet us have their bedroom for the night."

"That's so kind of them! But Link... I know where the other mirror shard is. It's in the place where we got the master sword."

His eyes flashed with confusion. "It can't be in there. The master sword was there. It wouldn't make sense, the temple is almost already breaking down slowly."

"That's what I thought, but if we come during the first afternoon light will shine the way to the temple of light, where it will hold the mirror of the shadow realm."

"Alright I believe you. But you'll need to eat first."

My stomach growled... but the dizziness inside my head was painful. "Do I have to eat?"

He sighed as he reached over to the night stand and grabbed a bowl. It must have been soup because it had that soup smell. "It smells good!" He gave me his best happy face.

When I stood a slip of the soup all of my body warmed at the flavor. From my head down to the bone I felt like a new woman. "Damn... that was some good soup."

"Good." Link smiled and ate with me.

The air around me was dense and dark... but also holy in a way. It was like a temple of sorts with the Master Sword in its pedestal, only the temple wasn't broken down and was clean, also there was a strange blue light around the master sword.

A voice began to speak in my head. "Go to the pedestal... enter the Master Sword back into its rightful place... only then will it light the true way..."

Light around the Master Sword became brighter as stairs behind the sword began to form. Everything around this place was pull of holy power. I walked up the stairs, but the light soon took me away with it...

Opening up my eyes I saw Link was asleep, but in a way that made my whole face into a blushing mess. He did wash his face and cleaned himself, but my face was pressed against his chest while I watched the gentle rise and fall of his chest.

His warm was welcoming and lovable, but he had one arm around my waist and the other around my shoulders so my face was near his chest. Honestly at this point I didn't know what to think of this. I must fell asleep while eating my soup because there were stains on my shirt.

I tried to move from his grip, but his hold tightened around me. He began to mumble in his sleep. "Don't.... leave... me... (y/n)..."

His voice croaked greatly as a small wetness dropped on my head. Was that a tear? Looking up the best I could the candle's gentle light shined off the flow of the tear. My heart was breaking into pieces. Link was worried about me in his dream... and even in our adventure...

I smiled when he pulled me closer to his chest again, near his heart where I could feel the gentle beating of his brave, courageous heart. "Don't worry," I whispered gently near his ear, "I won't ever leave you Link, even if you don't think I'm a bother to our quest... if you need me, I'll be the wind at your side, and the hand you need to fight with, because from the day we first met as kids the bond of destiny was tied together... Because... I-"

Link cut me off as his body shifted slightly. The frown on his sleeping face soon turned into a warm smile I grew up to love. He must be having a good dream now. If he was that all it took to make me happy.

I kissed his cheek, feeling the strong outline of his cheekbone. Link was the light of my life right now. Darkness washed over me again as I let it carry as I last saw the peaceful face on Link's face...
