I had never seen a human this big.

Well, I though it was a human, what with the two legs and the standing-straight posture, five-fingered hands and ears. But he was covered head to toe in hair, and wasn't wearing any clothes.

And as far as I knew, humans don't get this big.

I stood up in front of him, and immediately recognized his species. I didn't think there were any of his kind left, I'd only heard whispers and rumors of their survival.

I addressed him. "Kong, is this your island?" I asked.

"Yeah." he replied. "I'm kind of the king of this place."

I scoffed at that. "Don't get to ahead of yourself, buster. I'm the king around here."

"What are you talking about?" Kong asked, confused. "This is my island."

"Not anymore." I responded. "Do you know who I am?"

Kong picked up a massive fruit-like plant from the ground and started eating it. "Can't say I do."

"Well, then I'll have to educate you." I said, clearing my throat. "I am Godzilla, King of the Monsters, keeper of balance, and the protector of this planet. All of the titans bow to me, for I am the one and only king."

I looked down to see Kong's reaction. To my surprise, his expression hadn't changed.

"Cool." He said. "And I'm Kong, King of Skull Island, and protector of the Iwi tribe."

I raised and eyebrow. "I'm not sure you understand." I said. "All territory is my territory."

"Not this one." He says. "I was here first."

"That's not how this wor-" I said, before I noticed something out of the corner of my eye.

Underneath a rocky ledge, covered in dirt and looking like it hadn't been very well taken care of, was an egg.

A very familiar egg.

I pointed at it. "Where'd you get that?" I asked.

"Oh, that?" He said, looking at it. "I found it."

"Bullshit." I said angrily. "You stole it, didn't you?"

"Pfft, no." He said, laughing. "It's just some egg. I don't think it's really all that important."

"Well," I said, getting more and more angry by the minute. "It belongs to me. And it is very important. I'm going to need it back."

"No can do." He replied, still with that stupid, nonchalant look on his face. "Finder's keepers."

Alright, that is it. I thought, angered my this ape's insolence and disrespect for my one and only true love. He's not going to listen to me, then I'm going to beat him to a pulp.

With that in mind, I pounced on him. He wasn't expecting it, and his eyes went wide as I grabbed him by the shoulders. I shook him several timers, then rammed him into the side of a large cliff face before tossing him across the island. He careened through the air, hitting another mountain, before crashing into the ground.

I walked over to where Mothra's egg was resting, and picked it up very carefully, before setting it down softly behind me. "This is mine." I said, snarling at Kong. "I'm getting tired of your insolence. You need to surrender to me now, or I will beat you senseless."

Kong simply got back up, and spit out a glob of blood.

"I could do this all day." He said.

And with that, he charged at me.
