EP.135|A Different Note

"Yo-You-You're Demonia!?" Ma yelled. "Yes, now keep it down!" Demonia whispered. "We have to call Giles! He'll be so shocked to see you." Mal said Demonia shook her head.

"As much as I would love to see Giles again, I can't." Demonia sighed. "We at least have to tell Milton," Mal said, pulling out a crystal ball. "Call Milton," Mal said as Milton popped up on the crystal ball.

"What do you want, devil girl?" Milton rudely asked. "Is Giles around you?" Mal asked, rolling her eyes at the rude way Milton answered the call. "We passed by a bookstore and Giles rushed in."

Demonia giggled "that sound like my bookworm." Milton's eyes widened, "devil girl, turn the camera." Milton ordered as Mal turned the camera to face Demonia.

"Demonia!" Milton cheered. "Hi, Milton. Where's Courtly?" Demonia asked. "Missing," Milton's eyes saddened. "That's why we have these stupid VK's looking for Swan and the grail so she can lead them to Courtly," Milton said.

"I have to get Giles, he'll be so happy to see you," Milton said. Demonia then showed him her arms and Milton stopped. "You're trapped on the Demonic Isles, aren't you? That's why we can't sense your aura." Milton guessed.

"Her aura?" Mal asked.

"Yeah, the Demonia you see here is her aura, but since she has the chains on, no animalistic, demon, or dragon can sense it. Only Demonic Dragons can, that's why Demonia looked so familiar to you Mal." Milton explained, he then saw Giles walking towards him.

"I gotta go," Milton said as the call ended.

"So, if this is just your aura, where's your actual body?" Mal asked. "That castle," Demonia said. "We need to find our way into the castle and find my body. Then you're gonna hit it with everything you got." Demonia continued."Wait, what!?" Mal yelled. "My body is stuck inside something and I need you to break it." Demonia smiled, patting Mal's shoulder. "But, why me?" Mal questioned.

"I just have a feeling, you know, something that's telling me you're the one who's gonna free me. The one who's gonna be able to reunite me with Giles." Demonia smiled just at the thought if being with Giles again.

"Alright, I'll help you." Mal nodded, Demonia hugged her. "Oh thank you, Malena! I can't thank you enough! I finally get to reunite with my bookworm!"

"My handsome little bookworm! I wonder what he's up to? Does he miss me? Does he know I still love him? What if he found someone new?" Demonia started to worry.

"Believe me, he didn't." Ben chuckled. "Ben!" Demonia shrieked. "Hey, Demonia." Ben smiled, leaning against the stairwell.

"He loves you, there's no doubt about that. Just like how I love Mal." Ben wrapped his arms around Mal. "Awe, Ben's so cute." Demonia gushed. "Mine!" Mal growled at Demonia.

"Right, forgot the red moon." Demonia chuckled. "Sorry, usually I don't act like that." Mal chuckled nervously.

Hunter stirred in his sleep, his dreams were haunted by his dear, Operetta.

"Hunter! Oh my gods!" she yelled out his name, Hunter looked at his mate, smirking. "Mine, mine, just mine," he muttered kissing her lips.

"Possessive much, aren't we?" Operetta chuckled. "But you're mine, nobody else's," Hunter muttered, laying his head in the valley of her chest.

"Look at you. You're so beautiful. So perfect. So...everything." Hunter smiled. "I love you, Hunter. Never forget that, my lovely demon." Operetta rubbed her thumb over his cheek.

"I won't." Hunter kissed her forehead. "I love this, us just sitting here, you and me, basking in the sunset. I love it. I hope this is like this forever." Hunter sighed.

"Of course it will, you know until something happens that tries to rip us apart." Operetta chuckled. "If that happens I'll kill me," Hunter growled.

"There's nothing to worry about, I'm yours." Operetta smiled, kissing the demon's lips. "Yeah, mines," Hunter muttered, kissing the top of her breast. "And I'm yours," Hunter mutters.

"Hey, Hu-Hunter?" Operetta stuttered a bit. "Yes, my beautiful Music Note?" Hunter smirked.

"Wou-Would you ev-ever cons-consider marry-marrying me?" Operetta stammered. Hunter slowly got up, kneeling beside her.

"One day," he kissed her shoulder, leaning down her arm "I promise you," he stopped when he reached her ring finger "that finger will have the prettiest ring in the whole world on it."

Hunter shot up from his bed. He sighed and got up, putting on a shirt and a jacket, walking out to the cool streets of the Demonic Islands.

He then went into a jewelry store and sighed. Why am I doing this? Hunter looked around till he got to the ring section. "Hello, sir! How may I help you?" The chirpy girl behind the counter said.

"Yeah, you see, I'm looking for an engagement ring for my girlfriend." Hunter began as the girl smirked. "Ooh~we have millions of rings." she brought out a plate of beautiful rings.

"What color does she-" "red," Hunter answered quickly. "I see," the lady then picked up a beautiful black gold vintage ring with amazing red rubies.

"I think she would like this one." she hands the ring to Hunter "she'll love it." Hunter smiled as the woman put the ring in the box and hand it back to Hunter.

Once Hunter got back to his bed, he stared at the ring, he smiled. Once I find you, Operetta, I promise, we'll get married.

The next morning, Hunter woke up fresh and early, he was ready to find his mate once again. "Come on guys! The faster we get up the faster we find Operetta!" Hunter cheered as him and the VK's left the hotel.

"Hunter wait-" Mal began. "I know Mal, we need to find her." Hunter nodded determinedly. "But Hunter-" "I mean just the thought of possibly finding her is giving her chills! So, where did you last see her?" Hunter asked.

"By the restaurant, she was buying some apples," Mal answered. "Makes sense, those are her favorite fruit. Okay, I remember running after her." Hunter ran to the corner of the street and stopped.

"Then she turned the corner, but when I did she was gone." Hunter turned the corner, the streets were busy, which would make sense since it's the middle of town.

"We should start by asking around," Ben suggested. "Good idea, everyone split up. We'll meet by the fountain at noon." Hunter ordered as everyone went their separate ways.

"Hunter-" Mal started. "I know, I can't smell anything, all the scents are mixing together," Hunter complained, cutting off Mal. "I know, but Hunter, you need-"

"I need to calm down, but how can I be calm when Operetta is god-knows-where!" Hunter exclaimed. "I was trying to say you need to listen to me," Mal said, trying to get Hunter to listen to her was seeming impossible.

Hunter and she entered the convenience store. Hunter walked up to the counter and asked: "have you see this girl?" Hunter showed her a picture of Operetta.

The cashier looked up from her magazine, popping her bubble gum "yeah," she blew another bubble, sucked it and popped it with her teeth "she came in her talking about some apples,"

She looked back at her magazine, flipping the page "said she needs them for horses or something. She was rambling about some racehorse." she brushed a strand of her black and purple hair back.

"She says anything else?" Mal questioned. "I stopped listening after that." she shrugged.

"If you're looking for her, might wanna check the race track," she said, blowing and popping another bubble.

"Thanks." Hunter thanked, rushing out of the store. Mal looked at the cover of the magazine the cashier was reading.

Her eyes widened at what she saw and she quickly snatched away the magazine "hey!" the cashier exclaimed.

"This isn't it good." Mal rolled up the magazine and put it in her back pocket, running out of the store.

"Hunter!" Mal called out, catching up to the demon. "Mal, good news, I found the race track. Come on!" Hunter grabbed Mal's hand and began running.

"Hunter, I need to tell you something," Mal said. "You can tell me later, see, we're already at the track." Hunter smiled, Mal, on the other hand, was dizzy from all the running and dodging pedestrians.

Being so dizzy, Mal didn't notice the horse stampeding her way.

"WOAH!"

The horse then stopped quickly, causing a dust cloud to form. Once the cloud disappeared, Mal was completely fine. "You okay?" Hunter asked as Mal nodded.

Mal looked up at the horse, it was a black winged horse with a skeletal body, face with reptilian features, and wide, leathery wings that resemble a bat's.

"These are Granians," Mal observed. "Yep, this little guy is Thunderbolt." a girl appearing next to Mal said.

She wears her hair in a short layered bob. She wears a new reddish-pink fedora, a bright pink dress with a white collar, her gray top underneath, and a red waistcoat with a blue ribbon on her chest, the same stockings, and brown boots.

"I'm Diana." Diana introduced, shaking Mal and Hunter's hand. "I'm Mal and that's Hunter."

"You two don't look like racers, no offense." Diana chuckled.

"We're not, we're actually looking for someone." Hunter showed Diana Operetta's picture "her name is Operetta, have you seen her?"

"Yeah! She comes here every day for a riding lesson. She just left, you can probably catch her, she went to buy some flowers." Serena said. Hunter ran out of the track as fast as he could.

He saw a beautiful girl in a white dress with a white hat buying some flowers and ran up to her, grabbing her hand "Operetta!" Hunter smiled widely.

"Um...yes?" she asked. "I missed you so much! I'm so sorry I let Araden take you. I promise you're never leavi-"

"Do I know you?"

Hunter felt his heart shatter, literally, he could feel it breaking apart. The pain hurt too much, he fell to his knees, clenching her chest.

"Fuck..." Hunter groaned, "this is what I was trying to warn you about, Hunter!" Mal told him. "Why does this hurt so much...?" Hunter growled.

"Mister Hunter. Please, just calm down. It'll only make the pain worse." Operetta knelt beside Hunter. He stared into her beautiful greyish-purple eyes, he smiled softly.

She's still my Music Note...right?
