EP.73|The Wedding Ceremony (PART 6)

“All rise for the bride.” Zeref said as everyone rises, the wedding march started to play.

As Mal walked down the aisle she couldn't help but notice everyone staring at her. “Why are they all staring at me?” Mal asked, Maleficent sighed.

“Your getting married, and becoming Queen, so of course they’re gonna stare at you.” Maleficent chuckled. “So, you and dad? You getting back together?” Mal asked slyly.

“I don't know, I’m legally married to Haydn, but when it comes to your father, I feel like they’re unfinished business.” Maleficent sighed.

“Whoever you choose mom, make sure you love them, and always remember I’m better than any man you date.” Mal chuckled as they reached the end of the aisle.

“You break her heart and I’ll break your bones.” Maleficent whispered to Ben, sending shivers down his spine.

“Hey.” Mal whispered. “You look...wow…” Ben smiled. “Thanks, you don't look bad yourself.” Mal smiled back. “Also, why is Zeref officiating our wedding?” Mal asked. “I lost bet, plus he also begged me for weeks.” Ben replied.

“Welcome, family and loved ones. We are gathered here today, surrounded by the beauty of creation and nurtured by the sights and sounds of nature to celebrate the joining of Ben Beastly and Malena Maleficent in marriage.” Zeref announced.

“Today is a celebration. A celebration of love, of commitment, of friendship, of family, and of two people who are in it for forever. You don't have to have a ceremony to have a marriage. And when you think about it, the whole thing is kind of weird, right?”

“You're standing in front of everyone, looking fancy, holding flowers, and being stared at by so many of those who you hold near and dear. So why do we do it?”

“The marriage ceremony has been an important feature across nearly every culture, religion, generation, and society.”

“We have thousands of important moments that happen throughout our lives, but this one is regarded as one so critical, we acknowledge its special status by sharing it with others. Why this moment?”

“Because despite all of our differences, love is what we all share. It's the great unifier - our one universal truth.”

“That no matter who we are, where we've come from, what we believe, we know this one thing: love is what we're doing right. That's why you both are standing here.”

“That's why you all are here to watch them stand up here. We have all loved in our lifetimes, and in this moment, we're reminded that the ability to love is the very best part of our humanity.”

“All of us here today have our own love stories. Some are short, others long. Some are yet unwritten, while others are just getting to the good part.”

“There are chapters in all of our stories that are sad or disappointing - and others that are exciting and full of adventure, especially theirs.”

“And that brings them here. A time to pause, look back, and smile at all the moments that brought them here. And a time to look ahead at all the moments that are still to come.”

“It's not one moment - not even this moment. It's every moment. Big ones like saying "I love you," moving in together, getting engaged - but mostly a million little ones that come in between the big moments.”

“Falling asleep next to one another, making dinner together, spending holidays with your families, binge-watching Netflix shows, getting a big hug when you get home from work… These everyday moments fuse together into one big experience.”

“And even though this experience is so incredible, words fail us when we try and explain it. That's just the way it is with love - it's meant to be felt, not described.”

“But trying to describe love is one of our favorite pastimes. We use the words we have to write stories, and poems, and songs about love.”

“And even though we describe love in different ways - and even though love can look different from one person to the next - we all know it when we see it. And we see it here.”

“Mal’s of Villain descant and Ben is of Hero descent. I’m sorry, half Hero descent. But nonetheless, they’re still here, getting married before our eyes. And that, in my opinion, is the greatest thing life has to offer.”

Zeref looked at Ben to see he was crying a little. “Dude, are you crying?” Zeref asked. “N-No. You are.” Ben stuttered. “Correction, that’s the greatest thing life has to offer.” Zeref chuckled. “Anyways, now for the vows. Ben, please begin.”

Ben took her hands in his and smiled.

“My dearest Malena, from the moment I laid eyes on you I couldn't picture life without you. You’re my sunshine, and my moonlight. Your not only the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen but you’re smart, funny, and have a passion for life like nobody else. Everything about you Mal inspires me, your beauty is like a flash of gold in the riverbed, your kindness like a full moon bathing me in it’s glow. The world is filled with mysteries science tries to explain, like shining a flashlight down a dark hall or finding the right key for a lock. Buy there’s one thing science can never explain, and that’s the mystery of you, and I wouldn't want it to.”

Mal couldn't help but cry, she never heard such heartfelt words coming from a man. “You okay, Mal?” Evie wiped. “Y-Yeah.” Mal wiped her tears and took a deep breath in and out. “Now you, Mal.” Zeref said as Mal nodded.

“I’ve always wanted to find true, unconditional, crazy, hot, eternal love. I finally realized that kind of love is something you can’t force. It’s something that happens naturally or it doesn't happen at all. Until now, it hasn’t happened to me.”

“Not only have I found this kind of love with you, it’s better than I ever imagined! I cherish this special love and bond that we share and all the joys it brings.”

“Your strong, not stronger than me obviously, smart, funny, and very handsome, kind, hard working, focused, understanding, and just an amazing man possessing all the qualities of a perfect partner.”

“And on this beautiful day, I want to thank you for the wonderful life you given me. In return, I give you my heart and promise to be the best queen ever.”

“Alrighty then, let's move on before Ben starts sobbing.” Zeref chuckled. “Ben and Mal, please join hands.” “Will you,Ben, keep Mal as your favorite person - to laugh with her, go on adventures with her, support her through life's tough moments, be proud of her, grow old with her, and find new reasons to love her every day?”

“I do.”

“Will you, Mal, keep Ben as your favorite person - to laugh with him, go on adventures with him, support him through life's tough moments, be proud of him, grow old with him, and find new reasons to love him every day?”

“I do.”

“Now for the rings.” Zeref said as Jasper and Evie passed him the rings. “Holy crap. That’s beautiful.” Zeref said looked at the wedding bands.

The wedding bands were antique wedding bands featuring a series of tiny sparkling round cut stones arranged in a prong setting at the two edges of the ring.

Further spark is added by carving a curve encrusted with dazzling round accent stones.

To ornate this band further, a marvelous filigree pattern is engraved inside the band for an aesthetic charm

“Dude are those.” Jasper was then cut off. “Aladdin and Jasmine's wedding band when they got when they got married.” Ben smiled. “Did you steal?” Mal smirked.

“Yeah, Aladdin let me into the vault when I visited him last week and I just took to rings when he wasn’t looking.” Ben shortly explained. “I have never been so turned on in my life.” Mal chuckled.

“Anyways, You've both chosen to wear rings as a reminder of these promises. People often say wedding bands are a perfect circle, with no beginning and no end.”

“But these rings did have a beginning. The stones were formed a long time ago deep within the earth.”

“Eventually, a series of lucky events caused them to rise to the surface, where someone dug them up. Metal was then liquefied in a furnace - molded, cooled, and painstakingly polished. Something beautiful was made from raw elements.”

“Love is like that. It comes from humble beginnings, and through a combination of serendipity and effort, imperfect beings shape it into something extraordinary. It's the process of making something beautiful where there was once nothing at all.”

“As you look at these rings over the years, I hope you remember that. You've created something invaluable, and just as I know you'll protect these rings, I'm confident you'll protect the commitments you've made to one another today.”

“Ben as you place this ring on Mal’s finger, repeat these words after me: This ring symbolizes my love for you and the commitments we made today.” Zeref said as Ben slipped the ring on Mal’s finger.

“Mal, as you place this ring on Ben’s finger, repeat these words after me: This ring symbolizes my love for you and the commitments we made today.”

“Now, since you two are becoming Queen and King, may I please see the crowns.” Freddie then passed him the crowns and a sword. “Look at this sword! You can kill a dragon with this!” Zeref laughed.

“Zeref.” Ben fake coughed. “Fine. Ben Beastly, do you promise to rule over this country with a fair fist and bring peace and honor to your subjects?” “I do.” “Do you Malena Maleficent, promise to rule over this country with a fair fist and bring peace and honor to your subjects?” “I do.”

“With the power vested in me, in the name of the gods, the holy spirits, and cause Ben lost the bet. I pronounce you two the King and Queen of Hero Illes and Husband and Wife.” Zeref announced as Ben looked at Zeref.

“You may kiss the bride.” Zeref chuckled. “Finally!” Ben swooped up Mal and kissed her passionately.

“I love you, King Ben.”

“I love you too, Queen Mal.”
