The greasy, bacon air made Star and Marco feel like their Sunday was a pleasant vacation. The breakfast foods wafted into their noses, making them wake up peacefully. The sounds of the bacon sizzling and plates being set on the table were heard from the kitchen. Marco opened his well-rested eyes, while Star yawned and stretched, causing her to fall off the couch and land on Marco. Marco was now completely awake and aware of his surroundings. Star was on top of him and her weight was heavy.

"Star!" He complained. "Get off of me. I can't breathe."

Star, giggling, apologized. "Sorry."

Star climbed off of Marco, pushing more weight on him when she used his stomach to get up. Marco let out a moan. "Ow!"

That's when Marco's memories came back to him and he realized that he was in a stranger's house.

Star entered the kitchen with a bright and positive attitude. She grinned widely as she inhaled the scrumptious pancakes, eggs, and bacon.

"Good morning!" She greeted Stan, who was at the stove, making pancakes.

"Oh uh. Hey." He was wearing a long white tank top, blue-striped boxers, and dark blue, worn slippers.

Star took a seat down at the small square table. Looking out the window next to her seat, she saw trees that were unusually torn out of the ground by its roots. Not only were the trees odd, but a thin layer of smoke filled the air. Star raised an eyebrow at the view through the window. She wondered what could have caused something like that.

Then, Marco entered the kitchen. Marco's nose brought in the smell of butter and grease from the breakfast. The scents of the mouth watering food and the open window's summery air calmed him. With everything that went down last night, this Sunday morning seemed to make up for it.

Mabel followed her nose's sense of smell to the kitchen. Her tummy grumbled and groaned. It was at that moment that she realized that she went to bed without dinner. No. She didn't want to even think about it. Instead, she treated the day as if nothing had changed. It was just another normal summer day in Gravity Falls - well except for the abnormal monsters and creatures in the town - this was just another normal day.

As she reached the kitchen doorway, she rubbed her sleepy eyes that were still trying to adjust to the sun's light. At the table were the boy and the girl, already awake. Then she noticed Stan. He was making a big breakfast. Probably because he had two more mouths to feed. Mabel smiled. Stan did care. He got out of his own way and prepared a big breakfast for the four kids in the shack. In fact, she couldn't recall the last time she had a meal this big since Thanksgiving. Stan turned around to get another egg and caught a glimpse of the girl's purple nightgown in the doorway.

"Morning, Mabel." Stan said.

"Morning." She answered, making her way to the table. Mabel took an empty seat across from the two teens. She couldn't find the words to talk, so she just gave a half smile and a wave.

"Hi!" The blonde whispered happily from the other side of the table, giving a finger - dancing wave back.

"I don't think we've officially met. My name is Star Butterfly!" She then gestured to the boy sitting by her side.

"This is Marco." Marco waved and greeted Mabel.

"What's up?"

"Hi, I'm Mabel." Mabel said, introducing herself. She took her hand and reached out to Star. Star shook hands with her. Mabel's smile couldn't be bigger.
