Gideon couldn't even recall what had happened. It was unbelievable. And, to think, he was so close to his victory.

The invisible door on the box welcomed freedom for Marco. Mabel was relieved and Star was able to reach him first. Star ran towards her friend, her face stern. Marco was grinning, ready to give Star a hug, but she pushed him back into the box. The blonde also did not forget to grab the twins and toss them in with her and Marco.

"Woah." Dipper exclaimed.

"Hey!" Mabel said at the same time as Dipper.

"What gives?" Marco questioned Star's actions.

"What's going on?" Mabel asked.

Star hushed them. "It's not over yet."

Just as Toffee was celebrating his success, the wand had just given off its first glow of the light, the spark before the explosion. Toffee, before his final seconds of existence, had smiled. It was almost as if he had saw it coming.

Dipper noticed Gideon, standing outside of the box. He had his frightened eyes on the wand, watching as it self destructed in front of him. That's when he knew only he and the others were safe. Sure, Gideon was an arch enemy, however, that didn't mean that Gideon should blow up for what he did to them all summer. Then, Dipper did the one thing he never thought he'd do. Being brave, but also dumb, Dipper retreated from the protection of the indestructible glass case. He lifted open the door and ran.

"Dipper! Wait!" Mabel cried, reaching out her arm to try to grab her brother's blue vest. But the boy was too fast.

Gideon felt a tight tug at his right arm. As he turned to face what had suddenly snatched his arm, he found an unexpected surprise. It was Dipper. He had come to save him.

But why?

It was the question that repeated throughout Gideon's frantic mind. Why would Dipper come to rescue him? After all the horrible things he had put him through. He had slapped, punched, violently tossed, and verbally attacked Dipper. So, why would he save him?

"Wha - Dipper?!"

"C'mon!" Dipper shouted over the noise of the wand's explosion.
He kept a tight grip on Gideon's wrist. Mabel witnessed Dipper going back for Gideon. Her eyes were stuck wide open.

"Let's go! We don't have much time!"

Gideon stood for a millisecond and then followed Dipper to safety. They bolted their way to the glass box. They could make it. Then, BOOM!

A huge flash of light that was more enormous than the castle, itself, took over. It thundered and shook the ground with incredible rage. Until, there was nothing left of the castle except ashes.
