Gardner's Plea

I feel trapped

     with walls of brick

     plaster coated

     smooth and slick

Ache to snuggle

     in nature's arms

     feel soft breeze

     caressing warm

Hear low buzz

     of bumblebees

     watch flower dance

     performed with ease

Watch a robin

     cock his head

     listening close

     for earth's life tread

Feel sun rays

     touch my face

     warm my skin

     with day's embrace

Soar with hawk

     above the ground

     leave behind

     trouble's pound

Release me from

     these walls of brick

     to feel soft beat

     of nature's tick

Take me with you

     as you leave

     let me travel

     with nature's weave

-------------

When I cannot garden, I try to write. But writing does not come easy when your heart and mind are elsewhere. Letting go of life's little challenges and refocusing on what I can do has been a life long lesson. Sometimes I can re-focus through quiet time or meditation. Often, when I immerse myself in silence, the words begin to flow. For me, silence is a brick in the bridge I am building between my passion for writing and my passion for gardening.
