A week of warm weather

     has lifted my gloom

Plunge into my garden

     shake off winter fume

Spring flowers are popping

     and nod in warm breeze

Cut back honeysuckle

     as birds sing in trees

And scrape shallow furrow

     to plant a few seeds

Though may be too early

     it's sure not for weeds!

Long green shoots are poking

     though mulch of brown leaves

All reach for warm sunshine

     shake off winter's weaves

Work off my frustrations

     with spring garden chores

Can't wait 'til tomorrow

     when I can do more
