[ROSE'S POINT OF VIEW]

"You're supposed to be guarding him, not raid his candy jars!" Christian exclaimed when he dropped by to check on me. While Dimitri was in his bedroom, I was eating M&Ms. I smiled at Christian and brushed off his displeased look.

"I already asked him," I said, defending my poor self. He rolled his eyes at me and said, "When are you ever going to be mature, Rose. You're a Guardian Angel. Please try to act like one." It was not fair that everybody assumed that I was the immature one. Just look at Dimitri! He was against this Guardian Angel thing. I came here, accepting my punishment, very willingly, too.

I scowled at Christian and said, "Why don't you go and tell my human to be mature. He's the one that told me to get out."

His expression softened and he gave me a small smile. "I'm sorry. I should have known you'd try your best. But I still don't agree on raiding his candies, Rose."

I laughed and plopped another M&M in my mouth.

"I didn't know my Guardian Angel likes to talk to herself. Is Heaven so vacant that its angel has to talk to herself?"

I turned around and saw Dimitri standing in the doorway. He was wearing a black shirt and slacks with a black jacket. I also sensed that he had a weapon on him. I wondered why I didn't sense it on him earlier. I smirked and said, "Well, what can I say? Only the best gets in." I winked at him, laughing a little.

Christian was long gone, even if he was here, Dimitri wouldn't be able to see him anyway. I watched as Dimitri walked to the M&Ms jar and frowned at it. He turned to me and I gave him a sheepish grin with a shrug.

"You ate almost all of it?" he asked, his eyes darkening.

"I didn't mean to," I answered truthfully.

He took a deep breath like he was trying not to drag me to Hell himself. I gave him a smile and asked, "You'll forgive me, right?"

He massaged the bridge of his nose and asked, "Do I even have a choice?"

Not really. You're still stuck with me whether you forgive me or not.

He plopped the rest of the M&Ms into his mouth and walked out of the kitchen. I ran after him and saw him swinging a bag over his shoulder in the living room.

"Where are you going?" I asked, curiosity nudging me.

He didn't spare me a glance as he walked past me. "To work," he answered, opening the front door. It was night time. He took out his keys and turned around to face me. He looked into my eyes very deeply and said, "And don't even think about following me there. You can stay here and do. . ." He looked around the room. "Whatever that doesn't cause me any trouble."

Me? Cause trouble? Sweet little angel like me?

He gave me one long last look before walking to his car. I smiled and waved at him. I didn't know if it was just my imagination or not, but I could swear I saw a ghost of a smile on his face. He drove away and I stood there with the greatest idea ever. Why would I stay here and do things that doesn't cause any trouble when there are better options available?

I laughed evilly inside my mind. Oh, this is going to be fun. I tapped on his shoulder from behind and he turned around, his eyes widening. I laughed as he tried to conceal his feelings. He kept glancing at me every now and then. It appeared that he was in a meeting and far across the room was Christian. He narrowed his eyes at me and shot me a disapproving look before disappearing.

"Dimitri, will you escort—"

I stood behind a man with the constant scowl on his face. He looked a few years older than Dimitri, though. I swirled my fingers above his head and a flower tiara floated right above him. Dimitri shook his head a little, looking a bit worried. I smirked and batted my eyelashes.

"Lady Natasha Ozera to her family's home?. . . Dimitri Belikov!"

Dimitri's attention went back to the meeting and he cleared his throat. "Of course," he replied, staring straight at the lady with raven black hair and pale blue eyes whom I immediately assumed was Lady Natasha Ozera. But what caught my attention the most was the purplish scar across her left cheek. Still, she was very pretty. She smiled at him and they stared at each other so intensely that I suspected that. . .

But something was amiss. I could feel it. I stared at the two, focusing my senses on Dimitri, of course. He clearly felt something for her, something so alike affection. But like I said before, something was amiss.

I'll have to talk to Christian tonight.

Their little moment broke and I raised my brow at Dimitri with a smile. He sighed and looked away from me. I crossed my arms and leaned against the wall, completely bored. Then I had an idea. I looked up at the high ceiling and snow started falling. He looked at the snowflakes on the table that nobody could see, except him. He was the only one that could see me and my power.

I winked at him and he tried to conjure up a disapproving look. He failed miserably. I opened my wings and flew the short distance to stand on the table, right in front of him. I smiled and asked, "Do you like it?"

I knew he couldn't answer me (unless he wanted to look like a madman), but it was fun to challenge him. He was so strict and uptight. He stared at me as I did a little dance that we do in Heaven, relishing in my own creation. Seeing that the meeting had ended and Dimitri was still looking at me with his brown eyes, I made the snow disappear and Lady Natasha Ozera came to his side. She touched his arm and asked, "Dimitri, you seem a little distracted tonight? Is everything alright?"

He glanced in my direction and I crossed my eyes playfully, laughing.

"Yes, everything's. . .alright," he answered hesitantly.

She stood on her toes and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Well, come. You can have dinner with me tonight," she said, smiling brightly at him.

They obviously knew each other very well. This was going to be really interesting. I watched as he followed her out of the meeting room. I felt a presence behind me. I turned around, knowing who it was.

"Tell me more about being a Guardian Angel," I said, for the first time really wanting to know.

Christian sat up on the table next to me and said, "Well, you know that you're supposed to keep him safe. You can also sense whether he's lying or not. As a Guardian Angel, it is your responsibility to make sure his life is on the right path. For example, you need to make sure that he is with who he's meant to be with."

"Meaning?"

"You can sense who his soulmate is, his truest love."

I looked at Christian and asked, "Can't he tell?"

"Some can. Most don't," he answered with a shrug.

I sighed and nodded. "So who's your human?"

"A princess. Fainted in the middle of her bedroom when I told her."

Dimitri obviously took the news better than somebody. At least he didn't faint. No, he didn't. He pulled gun on me. That was not exactly how I imagined my welcome would be.

"Now stop lazing about! Get to work!"

"Christian, would you mind if I kick you in the butt sometimes?"

Good.

All the food smelled really good. As an angel, I didn't need food to survive, but did it hurt to eat?

NOPE!

The dinner looked really delicious. I looked at Dimitri and pouted my lips. He was conversing with Lady Natasha (not eating his food very quickly) and I was here, wanting to eat the food. I'd like them to move to the living room while I could shove all the food down my throat. Everything looked so colorful.

I sighed and cleared my throat loudly. Dimitri stopped talking and looked in my direction. I placed my hands on my hip and said, "I want to try some!"

Dimitri blinked a few times and ignored my humble request. He continued talking with Lady Natasha. She laughed at something he said and with my mind, his wine glass tipped over. The two jumped back from the mess and he looked me. I jutted my chin out and said, "Share!" Lady Natasha quickly had someone come to clean the mess up and Dimitri gestured to the kitchen.

I skipped after him into the kitchen. He locked the door and asked, "What are you doing?" He did not sound happy at all. I flinched at his hard angry tone.

"I just wanted to try some food!" I said, crossing my arms over my chest. My gaze averted to some kind of desert on the kitchen table. I went to it and admired its appearance. It had strawberries on it and the white fluffy stuff.

"Rose, you ca—"

I really wanted to try this. I looked at Dimitri, hoping he'd let me (not that he could stop me anyway). He sighed and grabbed a small white plate with a silver spoon. He cut a slice and put it on the plate. He handed it to me and I tried it. The delicious goodness tasted so good that it was like Heaven in food-form. I smiled up at him and asked, "What is this?"

"It's a strawberry shortcake," he answered, looking at me in a way that I couldn't really understand. It was like he was trying to read a foreign language he didn't know.

I licked the white stuff off my lips and said, "Thank you!"

He shook his head and looked like me like I was a troublesome child. Maybe I was.

"Dimitri?"

"Yes, Rose?"

"Can I have another slice?"

Thank you so much for the positive responses! You guys made me so happy that I immediately wrote chapter 2. I hope you like it! Please tell me what you think.

Love from your friend here,
